The following Prayer is for a hedge of protection around you and your family according to Psalm 91. Psalm 91 is a prayer for Christians only. This is not a prayer to be prayed for or by non Christians as the basis of the protection is seen in Verse 14. If you would like to know how to become a Christian, see the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Psalm 91 NLT (New Living Translation)
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
8 Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished. 9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands
so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! 14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.”
Heavenly Father, I (we) ask You to place a hedge of protection around me (us). It hides me (us) from the enemy, familiar spirits, any and all demon spirits, making it difficult, if not impossible for them to effectively track or trace me in the realm of the spirit. There shall be no perforations or penetrations to these hedges of protection according to your word in Psalm 91. I(we) know that You will answer this prayer because I (we) love You and I(we) trust in Your name only. I pray that Your blood Lord Jesus will cover me(us) and all that You have given me(us). That the enemy will not have access to what has been given to me(us).Thank you for your divine protection in Jesus Name, Amen.

Exodus 12:13 (New Living Translation)
But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.
Zechariah 2:5 (New Living Translation)
Then I, myself, will be a protective wall of fire around Jerusalem, says the Lord. And I will be the glory inside the city!’”
Job 1:7-10 (New Living Translation)
“Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan. Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.” Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.” Satan replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is!

One of the most common ways Christians pray for protection, is to ask God to erect a hedge of protection around whatever it is you want to protect.
Lets go over the origin of the hedge of protection, and then learn how to pray for the safety
of the ones we love by invoking the idea of a spiritual hedge to provide safety from evil.
The Hedge of Protection in the Scriptures
There are many instances in the scriptures where
a hedge is described as a means of protection. Perhaps the most famous comes from the book of Job.
After God boasts to the Devil about Jobs goodness, the Devil insists that Job is only good because
God has been protecting job; shielding him from the dangers of the world with a hedge of protection:
” Hast not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?
Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.”
So, this is the first evidence in the bible that
God can sometimes choose to protect certain individuals.
The language of the hedge is perhaps a little odd for the modern reader. Why a hedge?
Certainly there are better edifices to provide protection than a hedge. Why not a wall with barbed wire?
Yet, this isnt the only instance in the bible where a hedge is described as a good barrier.
“Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?”
“The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns:
but the way of the righteous is made plain.”
“And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard:
I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof,
and it shall be trodden down:”
This is just the beginning. There are many other examples throughout the bible.
So, why a hedge?
We may not know exactly why, but the difference between a hedge and a wall is that a hedge is alive.
Whereas a wall is erected and slowly deteriorates over time, a hedge is a living thing,
that with proper care and attention will only grow thicker and stronger over time.
I believe that prayer is exactly the care and attention
we need to give in order to receive Gods blessings and protection.
The Hedge of Protection Prayer
How does one pray using the hedge of protection?
Its simple. You simply invoke the hedge when asking for protection from God.
Why do this?
What I like about praying with the hedge of protection is that
it invokes the vernacular of the bible. It shows that Ive read and understood the biblical texts.
Lets go over a sample prayer:
Thank you for the blessings youve bestowed on me.
You are the protector and the light. In this time of need, my child has been involved
with peers who donot share the Christian values that we hold so dear.
In your name I pray for a hedge around my child to protect her from these evil forces that are at work.
May you bless her and this household and keep us safe in this time of need.
Hedge of Protection
Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift up __________ to You and pray a hedge of protection around him/her. We thank You, Father, that You are a wall of fire round about __________ and that you set Your angels round about him/her.
We thank You, Father, that __________ dwells in the secret place of the Most High and abides under the shadow of the Almighty. We say of You, Lord, You are his/her refuge and fortress, in You will he/she trust. You cover __________ with Your feathers, and under Your wings shall he/she trust. __________ shall not be afraid of the terror by night or the arrow that flies by day. Only with his/her eyes will __________ behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because __________ has made You, Lord, his/her refuge and fortress, no evil shall befall him/her — no accident will overtake him/her — neither shall any plague or calamity come near him/her. For you give Your angels charge over __________, to keep him/her in all Your ways.
Father, because You have set Your love upon __________, therefore will You deliver him/her. __________ shall call upon You, and You will answer him/her. And the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the Earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil? Then Satan answered the Lord, Does Job fear God for nought? Hast thou not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. (Job 1:8-10)
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you men of double mind. (James 4:7-8)
Trusting in the promise that whatever we ask the Father in Jesus’s name he will do, I now approach you Father with confidence in our Lord’s words and in your infinite power and love for me. And with the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God; the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul; Blessed Archangel Michael; my guardian angel; and with all the saints and angels of Heaven, holy in the power of their blessed names, I ask you, Father, to protect me and keep me from the harassment of the devil and his minions.
Father, I ask that you build a hedge of protection around me, like that which surrounded Job, and help me to keep that hedge repaired and the gate locked so that the devil and his minions have no access or means to breach the hedge except by your expressed will.
Father, I know that I am powerless against the spiritual forces of evil and recognize my utter dependence on you and your power. Look with mercy upon me. Do not look upon my sins, O Lord; rather, look at the sufferings of your beloved son and see the victim whose bitter passion and death has reconciled us to you. By the victory of the cross, protect me from all evil and rebuke any evil spirits who wish to attack, influence, or breach your hedge of protection in any way. Send them back to hell and fortify your hedge for my protection by the blood of your son, Jesus. Send your holy angels to watch over me and protect me.
Father, all of these things I ask in the most holy name of Jesus Christ, your son. Thank you, Father, for hearing my prayer. I love you. I worship you. I thank you, and I trust in you.
