Single woman prayer

Single Woman’s Prayer

Father God, in the precious name of Jesus Christ, I come before You in the most humble and earnest way I know. I come before You realizing that You know my thoughts, and even as I lift my prayer and praise before Thee this very second, I am known of You. I thank You for forgiving my fleshly iniquity and my transgressions, for I know sin is designed to destroy, so I must capture my thoughts and align myself with Your Word to be the light you have called me to be. I praise You this day for Your awesomeness, Your omnipotence, Your kindness, and Your mercy; and for the grace of which You have allowed my existence.

****I have noticed people searching for this prayer, so I have included it here for their convenience. It is not something I prepared, but I offer it as a courtesy. Single women have much to offer the body of Christ, and need spiritual support to fulfill their unique mission.

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I come boldly before Your throne of grace confessing Your Word over my life as a single Christian.

I pray that You would help me to live a Godly life as a single Christian – a life that is holy, sanctified and set aside for the Master’s use, and prepared for Your good work.

I confess Your word, that as a single Christian, my life is crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet it’s not I that live, but it’s Christ that lives in and through me; and the life which I now live in the flesh as a single Christian, I live it by faith, power and strength of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Father, You said that You would not leave us alone, but You promised to send us the Comforter. I pray therefore, that You would fellowship with me daily through the Comforter of the Holy Spirit.

I pray that while I am single, may You be the One to whom I am married. Lord, when I get lonely, may You, through the Holy Spirit, be the One who comforts my heart. May You be unto me as a close friend that sticks closer than any brother. When I need someone to talk to, may I also find comfort, as well as pleasure in talking to You. And as I talk to You, may You speak continually back to my heart, and may You be my daily companion who keeps me company, as You walk with me each and everyday.

I pray that You would give me Godly friends and acquaintances that will be an encouragement to me to live for, love and serve You with all of my heart, soul, strength, and might. And, keep me away from those who would draw my heart away from You and draw me into idleness, worldliness, carnalness or ungodly situations or relationships.

Your Word says that You are able to keep me from falling and present me faultless with exceeding great joy. I pray, therefore, that You would help me to keep watch of the eveil one in my life. Father, as a single Christian, help me not to be drawn or lured into sexual temptation, and keep me from falling into fornication, adultery or any other sexual sin, immorality or perversion.

By the power and strength of the Holy Spirit, I pray that You would also keep me from each and every satanic spirit of seduction. May You help me to flee youthful lust, keep me from compromising situations, and help me to avoide the very appearance of evil.

Father, help me to not allow the devil to confom my mind to see the single Christian life as one that is broing, incomplete or unfulfilling. I pray that through Christ Jesus, You help me to see my life as joyous, exciting and fully complete. I pray that You would fill every empty and lonely place of my heart with excitement in You and Your work. And may You always be the center of my joy, as You strengthen and renew my heart in You each and every day.

I pray that You would help me to be continually occupied doing Your work and Your will. Help me not to allow my mind to be consumed with the desire or want for a mate, but rather, consumed with You, Your Word, doing Your will, and pleasing You. And help me to keep my eyes, as well as my heart and mind stayed upon You.

Now Father, i thank You that my heart safely rests in You, Your provisions and Your loving arms of care. And may You continually be all of my fulfillment, my desire and completeness. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, AMEN.

3. Lord, cause it to happen that the divine match will come forth soon in the name of Jesus.

4. Lord, let my spouse be a person who loves You wholeheartedly in the name of Jesus.

5. Lord, establish our home according to the scriptures in Jesus name (read Ephesians 5:20-28).

6. Father, let all satanic barriers keeping us from meeting be dissolved in Jesus’ name.

7. Lord, send forth your warring angels to battle and release my spouse wherever s/he is in the name of Jesus.

10. I reject the provision of counterfeit spouse by the enemy in the name of Jesus.

11. I cut off the flow of any inherited marital problems into my life in the mighty name of Jesus (pray this one 7 times… aggressively)

12. O Lord, let the spirit of patience reign in my life until the right person comes in the name of Jesus.

13. (Please pray this one with all your strength for at least 5 minutes)

Father, in the name of Jesus, just as Abraham sent his servant to find his son Isaac a wife, send the Holy Spirit to bring my future partner to me.

What is the Single woman’s prayer?

Have you ever wondered what your prayer life should be like as a Single woman?

I’m sure you agree that cultivating a healthy prayer life is an important aspect of living as a Christian woman in today’s world.

More so, for those times when we long to pray but find it hard to do so. (Here are three tips to help us pray when it’s hard).

But should our marital status have anything to do with our prayer life? This may be a yes or no answer depending on your side of the divide.

There is a general assumption that, as single ladies, we have more time and I guess part of this should be devoted to prayer. Also, the fact that we are unmarried and childless may also presuppose the need to spend more time in supplication for a spouse and kids

Do you agree?

If so, what would you say your main prayer point is? The one area you devote the majority of your prayer time to? Please answer honestly.

Would you say you spend more time praying for marriage, wealth, health or to live according to God’s will?

Remember, there’s no judgment here, just truth.

I will be the first to tell you that I have prayed earnestly for each of those things at one point in time.

Which could also mean that our prayer points are seasonal, right? We are probably more likely to pray about our relationships during the holidays when we are surrounded by couples than at other times.

What should be the Single Woman’s prayer?

What if I tell you that our main prayer point should always be the same?

Please read the following passages with me:

Passage 1: Matthew 6:9-10(NIV)

“This, then, is how you should pray:

‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.”

Passage 2: Matthew 26: 39(NIV)

“Going a little further, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

Jesus also repeated a similar prayer in verse 42.

Passage 3: John 17: 8-10(NIV)

“…they knew with certainty that I cam from you, and they believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. All I have is yours…”

I believe our Lord Jesus’ prayers were centred around doing the will of God and the assignment placed before him. It was from prayer he drew strength and courage to walk in God’s will even though he knew it would lead to death, death on a cross.

What is our underlying objective as Single Women who pray?

I believe the Single Woman’s prayer (main prayer point)  should be to live the life God has planned for us, whether that involves marriage or not.

For those of us who desire marriage, this will not always be easy especially if God’s plan for our life does not include getting married(early or at all) or having kids.

But yet! He is God and knows us better than we could ever know ourselves.

Maybe he knows that getting married will take us away from him or he’s making us wait to make our testimony sweeter.

Here is another question for you: Have you ever wondered if you will forget God once you have the family and life you’ve always wanted?

I pray not.

I believe our constant prayer point should be to ‘live a life worthy of our Lord and saviour’.

It should be to make the most of all he has given us and to be grateful knowing that he will provide all that we need according to his riches in glory.

Do you know the wonderful thing about this? It applies to married women, too. I also believe it applies to every Christian on God’s green earth.

Facets of the Single Woman’s prayer

But not everyone agrees. There may be those who tell us our prayers should be centred around getting married and having children.

However, marriage, like many other gifts of God including wealth, health should always be secondary to his will.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33

Dear Sis, I pray we remember that it should always be God first, life second.

Let us pray for the courage and strength to be ever obedient to his call, to be willing to live for him at every point in our lives.

This is my main prayer and I pray that I shall never grow weary or proud in praying for God’s will and to live a life worthy of him.

Even as a single woman, whether you’re in your 20’s, 30’s, 40’s or 50’s, just remember that you can

find joy and fulfilment where you are and that ‘all things work together for good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose’. See Romans 8:28

The Single Woman’s Prayer

Lord God, thank you for loving us with an everlasting love. King of glory we pray for your wisdom and strength to stay true to the path you have chosen for us.

Dear Sis, you are dearly loved. Never forget that.
