Praying ministry

A Prayer Ministry can take on many formats — personal, with a prayer partner, corporate church praying, etc. Whatever the form, whoever might be involved, we should want our praying to be effective.

Effective Prayer Ministry Requires the Following:

Click on the links below to read more.

  1. We must begin on the basis of a personal relationship with God.

  2. We must have the right purposes for praying.

  3. We must develop a passion for prayer.

  4. We must view prayer as a priority.

  5. We must make prayer part of our lifestyle, or church culture, a permanent practice.

  6. We must depend on God’s power to pray and attribute results to His power.

  7. We must adhere to biblical principles when praying.

To develop an effective prayer ministry, whether personal or with a group, we must understand and practice the above elements in prayer. We can then build upon these elements to:

  • Plan strategies for our prayer ministry.
  • Prepare others to join us in praying.
  • Promote prayer successfully.

Start where you are but aim at growing and improving in the above. When all of this is in place you should begin to see an increase in participation and the development of a passion within others to meet with God through prayer resulting in praise to our Lord.

Christ Church, Prayer Ministry

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful…”(Colossians 4:2 NIV).

Christ Church Prayer Ministry offers prayer and support to the members and attendees of Christ Church. We are committed to the power of prayer and want to encourage others in their prayer life. Our purpose is to be available to individuals and our community as a prayer partner. Our hope is that as ourdependence on God grows, our church’s foundation in Christ will be perpetually stronger.

Our prayer members are available to our church leadership for prayer and to help undergird our body of Christ and community in prayer. We pray and intercede on behalf of our Pastors, leadership teams, varied ministries and those yet to attend. Before each church service, a prayer team anoints our church facility in prayer. During our church services, prayer teams pray for the Holy Spirit’s move upon the pastor, worship leaders and varied ministries. Our prayer tower is available by schedule every weekfor prayer members and anyone who chooses to join us in the tower for prayer. Our prayer partners, who are trained lay pastors, are available during our worship services for anyone in attendance who wants to pray with a partner.

Once a month the Prayer Ministry holds a special “Healing and Prayer Service” rotating monthly to each of our five campuses. Our Campus Pastors, Lay Pastor Minister and trained lay pastors gather to pray for our church and community for healing. Prayer Opportunities & Scheduled Prayer Events:

Prayer Room/Tower

Our church campuses offer worshipers and prayer teams a place of quiet refuge and meditation with God. Christ Church wants to facilitate prayer expression for all our members to deepen their personal walk with the Lord and to keep our corporate church, body lifted high in prayer. Individuals and prayer members are able to use this space for prayer, personal worship, perusing prayer resource materials, devotionals, etc. Within the solitude of the Church Prayer Room/Tower, one can find a place to withdraw to a more intimate spot for time with God just as Jesus did many times throughout scriptures.

Prayer Partner (Tower) “My house shall be called a house of prayer…”
