God wants us to succeed in all that we engage in. We read in Genesis 1:28 that, “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” As we prosper in the spirit, we are also to prosper in all we do and that is why the Word of God through the Bible urges to seek His wisdom and guidance in all our ways, in other words to submit a prayer for success in all our ventures. With God on our side, we can be successful in many things- business, job, exams.
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans” (Proverbs 16:3).
Prayer for Success in Business
Prayer should not be restricted to purely spiritual matters. God wants us to have all-round growth. If you are in business or starting a new venture, seeking God’s guidance is very much in order as it displays confidence in God.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him” (Jeremiah 17:7).
A short prayer for success in a new business venture can go along these lines:
Lord loving God, today I come to you asking for your blessings in my new venture with these resources you have blessed me with. Help me make wise decisions, take the right actions and do everything that brings you honor. Lord God, bless me so that I may become a blessing to others in the community. I pray trusting you in all things. Amen.
Prayer for Success in Exams
If you have an important exam or test coming up, you can also say a prayer for success.
Heavenly and loving Father, I pray that you watch over me as I sit for this important exam today. Help me to remain focused and perform at my peak according to the power you have given me.
Father, I know all things are possible with you. Give me a quiet mind and a peaceful heart. Hold my hand today and lift my entire being towards success. Amen.
Is it Right to Pray for Success?
The truth is that the matter of success here in the world can be a complex and an emotionally charged issue. To answer the question needs God’s wisdom because answering too quickly in the affirmative may find one being accused of having some leanings towards the prosperity gospel angle. On the other hand, to deny the need for success would appear to contradict the message of the entire Bible which talks about God’s blessings for His people.
When the success you seek helps others and honors God, then praying for that success is not a selfish act. Furthermore, ti becomes your means to helping others and a good testimony.
“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God and there we will receive mercy and we will find grace to help us when we need it” (Hebrews 4:16).
Prayer for Success Ideas
If you are asking God to bless you in all areas where you need victory and success, you could ask Him to expand your borders like He did for Jabez, in what is normally referred to as the Prayer of Jabez.
“And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow”. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested (1 Chronicles 4:9–10).
Jabez’s prayer for success has 4 key elements:
- God’s blessing – Acknowledges God as the source of all our blessing (Genesis 22:17).
- Expansion of territory – Here, Jabez is praying for prosperity, increase and victory in all he does.
- God’s hand – Jabez is asking for God’s guidance and strength.
- Finally, protection from harm.
Implications of Praying for Success
How you pray show a couple of things about your spiritual life. First, it shows how serious you are when it comes to realizing your goals in life. As a result, if you are not really serious, you will not pray much about them and vice versa. More importantly, it reveals how much you depend on God for everything. Finally, the more you learn to depend on Him, the more you are likely to take everything to Him in prayer.
Ask God for Success in Business, Job, Exams
Throughout scripture, it is evident that God really wants us to become successful in life. It is by growing and making use our trust and faith in Him that we get strengthened so as to fulfill His superior Will or intentions for our lives- the hallmark of true success.
It is true that God wants us to be successful in everything, if it is in accordance with His will. We are therefore right and justified to pray asking Him to bless and help us to become successful because He is a loving and caring Heavenly Father.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians. 4:6).

The Bible says that if there is any unforgiveness that it should be dealt with before praying.
Therefore we release any anger, bad feelings, resentment or any other wrong attitude before You now.
We lay it at your feet and we release and forgive those who have wronged us.
I lift up those watching this video and we come into agreement and lift up success at work for them.
Together we declare that the listener is a successful team player at work.
We bind any demonic strategy or hindrance that would try to rob…
Help the listener to sync up with the mission of their employer in Jesus Name.
Create in them a servant’s heart and attitude.
Help them to do the work they must do each day through Your strength in Jesus Name…
They shall not perpetuate gossip or slander or slack at their job.
Should anything negative come across their path they will not allow it to continue so as to positively contribute to their workplace.
It will never be said that they are a poor worker.
The listener knows that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.
Their motive for working is not to get rich quick.
Help the listener to see what it is that You want for them so that they have a vision for their job.
Grant the them wisdom, revelation, and understanding when it comes to their job so that they can come up with better ways to do their job and increasing efficiency in other areas of the company.
In the true spirit of humility and living humbly, they think more highly of others than they do of themselves.
They esteem their employer and co-workers and look upon and am concerned for their interests as well as their own for they know that You are the One who brings promotion.
We speak strength within them now in Jesus Name.
We declare refreshment flow over them for their job.
We declare that they increase in favor with their employer and their fellow co-workers in Jesus Name.
In Jesus Name we pray.
