PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
THIS SUNDAY
In today’s gospel Jesus makes it clear to us that we can only truly love God by loving our neighbour, that without love of neighbour there is no love of God. We pray for the wisdom and understanding as to how we can live more fully this great commandment and be a shining example of Christ’s love in our daily lives.
We pray to the Lord R. Lord, hear our prayer
Throughout November we remember our dead in a very special way. Let us today celebrate the lives of our beloved ones and members of our community and pray that they may enjoy the blessings of God’s compassion and love eternally

We pray for those of our Jewish brethren who were so brutally murdered as they prayed in their Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburg and ask the Lord that he welcome those who died into His kingdom and comfort those who mourn them.

We pray for true leadership in the world, for an end to hatred, an end to war, an end to intolerance and violence, that all God’s peoples can live their lives in peace and harmony.
We pray to the Lord R. Lord hear our prayer
We pray for tolerance in our own country. We pray particularly for those who see the gospel as a threat to liberty that their eyes be opened to the love, the peace and humanity of Christ’s message.

We remember in silence our own personal intentions and the intentions of those who have asked for our prayers

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2018
In today’s gospel, Jesus reminds us that the riches the Father has gifted us should be used for the benefit of those most in need, the poor, the hungry, the homeless. We pray for the wisdom to think less of ourselves and our unnecessary needs and luxuries and share what we have with the less fortunate of Gods children.
We pray to the Lord R. Lord, hear our prayer
We pray for our bishops and those in authority in our church that they may not be as the scribes in today’s gospel, seeking places of honour in our temporal world, but that they be true shepherds, humbly guiding the flocks which the Lord has entrusted to their care.
We pray to the Lord R. Lord, hear our pray
We thank God for the humility, wisdom and humanity of Pope Francis and pray that the Holy Spirit continue to inspire him in his work of reform and renewal in Christ’s church.
We pray to the Lord R. Lord hear our prayer
We pray for the people of Yemen where millions of men, women and children are suffering from war and starvation. We ask the Lord, who is Father of all, to bestow wisdom on our world leaders, so that all nations replace war with peace, hate with love and fear with generosity.
We pray to the Lord R. Lord hear our prayer
We pray today for all those who are sick, and particularly for those with life threatening illnesses. We also include in our prayers those marvellous family members and helpers, carers, doctors and nurses who care for the sick with such loving care and patience.

O dear Jesus,
I humbly implore You to grant Your special graces to our family.
May our home be the shrine of peace, purity, love, labor and faith.
I beg You, dear Jesus, to protect and bless all of us, absent and present, living
and dead.
O Mary,
loving Mother of Jesus,
and our Mother,
pray to
Jesus
for our family,
for all the families of the world,
to guard the cradle of the newborn,
the
schools
of the young and their vocations.
Blessed Saint Joseph,
holy guardian of
Jesus
and Mary,
assist us by your prayers
in all the necessities of life.
Ask of
Jesus
that special grace
which He granted to you,
to watch over our home
at the pillow of the sick and the dying,
so that with
Mary
and with you,
heaven may find our
family
unbroken
in the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Amen.
