Prayers for success in school

by Gela ()

Please pray for me as I have been struggling in nursing school. I desire to care for my brothers and sisters in Christ. This is where my heart is. I have not been doing well on tests, but I know that I can do it with God’s help.

I know He has amazing plans for all of us. Please pray that I will stay motivated and that I will be able to pull up my average. I have one more unit test and I am depending on this to help me obtain a passing grade.

I know that I am not the only one struggling with school out there, so I ask that you please keep all students, especially those who are in the same situation as I am, in your thoughts and prayers as well.

Thank you so much. May God bless each and every one of us.

God wants us to succeed in all that we engage in. We read in Genesis 1:28 that, “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” As we prosper in the spirit, we are also to prosper in all we do and that is why the Word of God through the Bible urges to seek His wisdom and guidance in all our ways, in other words to submit a prayer for success in all our ventures. With God on our side, we can be successful in many things- business, job, exams.

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans” (Proverbs 16:3).

Prayer for Success in Business

Prayer should not be restricted to purely spiritual matters. God wants us to have all-round growth. If you are in business or starting a new venture, seeking God’s guidance is very much in order as it displays confidence in God.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him” (Jeremiah 17:7).

A short prayer for success in a new business venture can go along these lines:

Lord loving God, today I come to you asking for your blessings in my new venture with these resources you have blessed me with. Help me make wise decisions, take the right actions and do everything that brings you honor. Lord God, bless me so that I may become a blessing to others in the community. I pray trusting you in all things. Amen.

Prayer for Success in Exams

If you have an important exam or test coming up, you can also say a prayer for success.

Heavenly and loving Father, I pray that you watch over me as I sit for this important exam today. Help me to remain focused and perform at my peak according to the power you have given me.

Father, I know all things are possible with you. Give me a quiet mind and a peaceful heart. Hold my hand today and lift my entire being towards success. Amen.

Is it Right to Pray for Success?

The truth is that the matter of success here in the world can be a complex and an emotionally charged issue. To answer the question needs God’s wisdom because answering too quickly in the affirmative may find one being accused of having some leanings towards the prosperity gospel angle. On the other hand, to deny the need for success would appear to contradict the message of the entire Bible which talks about God’s blessings for His people.

When the success you seek helps others and honors God, then praying for that success is not a selfish act. Furthermore, ti becomes your means to helping others and a good testimony.

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God and there we will receive mercy and we will find grace to help us when we need it” (Hebrews 4:16).

Prayer for Success Ideas

If you are asking God to bless you in all areas where you need victory and success, you could ask Him to expand your borders like He did for Jabez, in what is normally referred to as the Prayer of Jabez.

“And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow”. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested (1 Chronicles 4:9–10).

Jabez’s prayer for success has 4 key elements:

  • God’s blessing – Acknowledges God as the source of all our blessing (Genesis 22:17).
  • Expansion of territory – Here, Jabez is praying for prosperity, increase and victory in all he does.
  • God’s hand – Jabez is asking for God’s guidance and strength.
  • Finally, protection from harm.

Implications of Praying for Success

How you pray show a couple of things about your spiritual life. First, it shows how serious you are when it comes to realizing your goals in life. As a result, if you are not really serious, you will not pray much about them and vice versa. More importantly, it reveals how much you depend on God for everything. Finally, the more you learn to depend on Him, the more you are likely to take everything to Him in prayer.

Ask God for Success in Business, Job, Exams

Throughout scripture, it is evident that God really wants us to become successful in life. It is by growing and making use our trust and faith in Him that we get strengthened so as to fulfill His superior Will or intentions for our lives- the hallmark of true success.

It is true that God wants us to be successful in everything, if it is in accordance with His will. We are therefore right and justified to pray asking Him to bless and help us to become successful because He is a loving and caring Heavenly Father.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians. 4:6).

Prayer for Students – Why is it important?
Prayer for students is vitally important in culture today. School campuses are full of temptation and negative influences targeting students. Prayer is a way to influence students to make wise choices and excel in their studies.

There are many topics in the curriculum that will impact their decision making for years to come. Our youth and young adults approach a time of their lives where they will make significant decision about careers, marriage, children, and other life choices.

Can we live without prayer? No. We need communication with God. He can do anything without man, but He will not because He created us to love Him and love others. He establishes His kingdom through us by prayer. Prayer is one way to build our faith and expectations of His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Prayer can greatly impact students’ lives, faith, and outlook on their future.

Prayer for Students – What do I pray?
In my prayer for students, what do I pray for? Get to know students who are in your family, neighborhood, and church. As you interact with them, you will realize the problems and situations that they face. Here are some suggestions for how to pray for them:

  • Many struggle with classes or courses. Pray for wisdom as they listen to lectures and complete homework. Pray for good recall during testing.
  • Pray for students as they encounter philosophies or theories that are contrary to their beliefs.
  • Pray that their parents will provide good guidance and help them make wise decisions.
  • The financial burden of tuition and books is costly. Ask God to provide for their needs.
  • Pray for those who struggle with balancing a job and class attendance.
  • Pray for students to have accountability and encouragement from a group of Christians.
  • Pray that God lead them into a relationship with Him and strengthen their faith.
  • Follow the guidance given in the Bible. These verses can be prayed for students.

“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing” (Philippians 2:14-16).

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

“Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart” (2 Timothy 2:22).

Prayer for Students – How do I pray?
How can I implement prayer for students on a regular basis? Here are some practical suggestions.

  • Prayer walk on campus – Consider having a prayer walk around the school or university in your community. These campuses usually have parking areas and streets near them. That’s a great place to start. Walk around the area while praying for the students who attend. Pray for success in their studies, for them to make good choices, and to say no to temptation. Pray also for the professors, teachers, and administration.
  • Prayer Team – Other Christians may be interested in praying for students in your local area. Think about starting a weekly prayer team for your school.
  • Influence specific students – Email short prayers to students you already know. Encourage them in their studies and ask them for ways you can pray for them.

Prayer for students is essential. You have an important role in their lives. Many students leave their faith during these crucial years. With your prayers, their spiritual lives could be enhanced and remain strong.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

– We have all

sinned

and deserve God’s judgment.

God

, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him.

Jesus

, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He

died

for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was

buried

, and

rose from the dead

according to the

Bible

. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your

Savior

, declaring, “

Jesus is Lord

,” you will be saved from

judgment

and spend eternity with God in heaven.
