Prayers for a friend in trouble

This is a prayer for a Christian friend.  There are moments when we can feel so close to our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Especially when they have supported and comforted us through difficult times. You may even run out of things to say in prayer for them so the Holy Spirit has provided this one by way of the Apostle Paul for us.

This prayer for a Christian friend you can pray daily if you feel led.  This was a prayer said by the Apostle Paul, while he was in prison, for his fried Philemon.

Philemon is a one chapter book found in the new testament of the bible.  We don’t hear a lot about this book but it is a very quick read and there is so much insight and knowledge on grace, forgiveness, friendship and brotherhood in this book.

First let’s share the scripture in 4 different versions so that you can meditate on it:

Philemon 1:6 The Voice (VOICE) “Thank You, Father, for Philemon. I pray that as he goes and tells his story of faith, he would tell everyone so that they will know for certain all the good that comes to those who put their trust in the Anointed One.”

Philemon 6 New Living Translation (NLT) “And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ.

Philemon 6 King James Version (KJV) “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.”

Philemon 6 Amplified Bible (AMP) “I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective and powerful because of your accurate knowledge of every good thing which is ours in Christ.”

So you can just pray this pray directly as it is in the scriptures by inserting their name where it says Philemon.

Thank You, Father, for _______. I pray that as he/she goes and tells his/her story of faith, he/she would tell everyone so that they will know for certain all the good that comes to those who put their trust in the Anointed One.

This is a very simple, beautiful and powerful prayer that when prayed daily you should see the amazing way in which God will work through this person for his Kingdom.

Friendship Prayer

Here is my favourite prayer for a friend, I think it speaks volumes, and those of my closest friends that I have chosen to send it to, have all been deeply touched by the words:

I will pray for you, my friend.
I will name you in my heart before God and ask all His blessing be upon you.
I will be concerned for your rising and your daily mood.
I will be sympathetic to your personal needs and desires in each day of your life.

I want to thank you, Gracious Lord,

Do you feel like your relationship is in trouble? Perhaps your better half has left, your marriage is on the rocks, or you simply feel out of place with the person you are with. You value the relationship that you have with your husband or wife, and you honor and respect the vows that you took in front of God and witnesses. Despite the best of intentions, there are times when even the most perfect relationship has problems and issues. If your relationship is in need of a blessing and you have nowhere to turn, always consider the power of prayer. God is always there to listen, and his followers on earth are always ready to assist in having your prayer requests heard.

Prayer for Restoring Marriage

Lord, I come before you today with a heavy heart; my marriage is in grave trouble, and I need Your help and closeness. Please make changes in my spouse’s heart. Make us compatible again, and bring us closer together as we were before. Fill us with Your love and give us the strength to love one another, care for one another, and fulfill your life long wishes for us. Show us the harm caused by careless, uncalled for words, and the pain caused by emotional distance. Heal the division between the two of us. Make us one again. In Your precious name I pray, amen.

I lift up my heart to You today, my precious Lord. Please help us to rely on You more in our marriage when it comes to our finances. We can be easily distracted by the amount of money in our bank account, or even by the jobs we currently have. Help us not to trust in the matter of money itself, but more importantly, trust in Your economy and Your word. May Your Holy Spirit fill us with wisdom in how to manage our finances, give us generous hearts to give to those in need, and teach us to not worry about money so much. We pray there would be peace in our marriage, especially over finances, at all times, and in all ways. May Your presence keep us grounded, keep us calm, and keep us in Your will always.

Prayer for Clear Communication in Relationships

Lord, I feel like my partner and I have had a difficult time clearly communicating with one another lately. We are both lacking in our compassion and understanding towards each other. I pray we would be better than this, and that You will open our hearts to You. Holy Spirit, please help us be better communicators with each other.
