Prayer: Searching for a life partner
Almighty Father, We pray for all those waiting and searching for life partners. You know the deep longings of their hearts and You know what is best for them in life. Lord, help them as they desire a good companion in life.
If it is Your will, guide them Lord, to the partner You have chosen for them. Give them the wisdom and direct them in their pursuit to choose the right person.
Everyone deserves a loving and God-fearing partner, for a happy life. We ask You to remove all obstacles in their way and perfect everything for them.
Guide them to the right person
Lord, You said that it is not good for man to be alone. We ask You to listen to the hearts looking for a life partner. Put their yearning for marriage in the right perspective.
Lead them to the one You choose and reveal Your plans for them so that they prepare themselves better. Lord, teach and guide them to seek You first and to learn to give love more than expecting to receive it.
Help them to remember that whatever journey their life leads them on, You are always present, always offering companionship, and always filling their deepest need.
Fill them with love and understanding
At all times, may they observe quiet prayer-time and turn to You in all joy and afflictions. May each of them address their areas of weaknesses and be strengthened in Your love and light.
We pray that understanding and loving each other be their utmost desire and may they believe in a marriage that ends only when death do they part.
Genesis 2:18 Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.

Prayer for the man searching for a wife
Lord, I pray for a woman of God, beautiful in heart, mind and soul. May she be faithful, loyal, sincere and noble in her thoughts and deeds.
Grant her patience. Let her be filled with love, humility and understanding for me and the family we will commit.
Give me wisdom to make and keep her happy and feeling protected. May she be one fearful in Your sight and be a woman faithful to prayer, praise and worship for You our God.
Let her heart be not worried or afraid of her past which is history and may her present self be in Your way of life. May she be devoted to prayer, family life and know the values of a family of God.
Peter 3:7 “You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman. And show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered”
Personal Prayer:
Lord, help me assure my woman that I am responsible and able to provide for her needs. Help me prove that I am a gentleman and God-fearing and would be able to take care of her and protect her in all aspects of life, in good times and in bad.
May I daily make amends in all my shortcomings and make myself ready to give myself wholly and truly to a relationship.
May I grow in deeper love for You, my God, which will allow me to grow deeper in my relationship with her. Amen.

O Jesus, lover of the young, the dearest Friend I have, in all confidence I open my heart to You to beg Your light and assistance in the important task of planning my future. Give me the light of Your grace, that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner through life. Dearest Jesus, send me such a one whom in Your divine wisdom You judge best suited to be united with me in marriage. May her/his character reflect some of the traits of Your own Sacred Heart. May s/he be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with pure and unselfish love we both may strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children it may please You to entrust to our care. Bless our friendship before marriage, that sin may have no part in it. May our mutual love bind us so closely, that our future home may ever be most like Your own at Nazareth.
O Mary Immaculate, sweet Mother of the young, to your special care I entrust the decision I am to make as to my future wife/husband. You are my guiding Star! Direct me to the person with whom I can best cooperate in doing God’s Holy Will, with whom I can live in peace, love and harmony in this life, and attain to eternal joys in the next.
Amen.

Here are 4 good prayers to pray for your marriage in the hopes that it will be better for you both.
Prayer for Renewal
Oh Lord God my Father, please help us grow closer together and be joined in one purpose to glorify You in our marriage. Help us to remember what first brought us together which helped our love grow strong enough to commit to marriage in the first place. I know that time and the business of life sometimes diminishes our feelings for one another. We both get so busy we forget to find time for romance. Please place this on our hearts to renew or revive what we had when we were first married. To revisit those places we first dated, even if it’s only possible in our minds. Help us both focus on You oh Lord for You are first in our lives because no marriage will be blessed by You unless You come first and ahead of my partner. Please help us both in our marriage to make is stronger and to make it a more God-glorifying union of the institution that You created for our own good and in the strong name of Jesus Christ I pray, amen.
Thankfulness for my Spouse
Righteous God, thank you for my spouse because, just like our children, they are a gift from You because nothing happens that You do not ordain and even our bad choices and decisions can be made to be a blessing to us (Gen 50:20). Forgive me for all the times that I’ve neglected You in times of prayer, praise, and devotion and also for the negligence in my marriage. I know that marriages take so much work and that they don’t just happen automatically. Thank you for your patience and Lord God, I thank You for my beloved spouse and for my spouse’s patience with me for how far I fall short at times. Please forgive me as I also ask my spouse to forgive my neglect of them for which I have no excuse. You are such a good God and a God that desires our highest and ultimate best and for Your precious Son, Who died for us and for the glory of His name it is through I pray, amen.
Blessings for my Spouse
Great God in Heaven, I want to first and foremost, give You thanks for my spouse for they are such a blessing to me, our family, and to so many others. I pray that You would bless them and that You would grant them godly wisdom and knowledge so that they might make good decisions today at work and at home for the purpose that You, ultimately, will be glorified. Help our marriage stay strong by Your Spirit and by revealing to me where I fall short and where I can grow to be a more loving, supportive, and godly mate for my spouse. They deserve the very best and I know I haven’t always given them my very best. Let my spouse be a godly influence on those they are around today and that Your great name would be made famous among those they work or live around. Help my spouse to realize just how much I love them and need them and that we both can come to know you in a much deeper, more intimate relationship as we make You that 3rd cord that is not easily broken. I give you the glory for this marriage and ask Your blessing on it and on my spouse in particular and again, I thank God for them and for your grace and mercy and in the name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, I pray, amen.
Prayer Walking and Waking
God, my righteous Father, as I leave today to take a walk or to go to work, I ask for You to keep our marriage strong, even during the absences where we must be apart. I know that I have so much to learn about my spouse and I need to show my spouse patience because You are perfectly patient with me even when I blow it big time (again!). Just as in the model prayer called the Lord’s Prayer, I pray for Your name to be glorified in our lives and for Your will to be done over my own and that we as a couple, keep our focus on You and on Your Son, Jesus Christ. Marriage in itself is a true miracle and we both need Your daily divine intervention to be able to keep this marriage strong and godly. I pray for You to keep changing my heart more like Christ’s; for you to open my eyes to see things that I sometimes miss; that I will have ears to hear what Your Word says about being more Christ-like, and to be a better communicator and to break my pride and tell my spouse just how much I need them and that they are a gift from You. I want to be more like Jesus so that my love for my spouse is more like Your love for me and them. Revive my heart oh God and my love for my precious spouse and create in me a deep desire to serve them as You sent Jesus to be a servant and give His life as a ransom for us who did not deserve it and in Christ’s precious name I pray, amen.
Conclusion
Every marriage is a miracle and it takes a lot of hard work, dedication, commitment, and by all means, a lot of prayer. I know that God can change even a pagan king’s heart (Prov 21:1) so I know I can trust You but I also need to have a heart change and to humble myself before You and to serve my spouse and put them first, esteeming them better than myself.

More than ever today, as a husband and wife unite in marriage, they need the prayers and blessings of friends and loved ones to help them build a strong foundation of godly love established on Christ, their Rock. If you want to give something special and lasting to a couple on their wedding day, here are two sample prayers you can offer on their behalf. Feel free to use these prayers and marriage blessings as a part of your own ceremony!
A Wedding Day Prayer
Dear Lord,
As this couple begins their lives together on their wedding day, I pray that their hearts will unite as one with You in their desire to make You the center. May this day be the start of something beautiful, a celebration unlike any other.
As they offer their vows to one another in the sight of God and others, give them a clear understanding of their commitment to each other. May their loyalty in marriage mirror Your own love and faithfulness to all Your children. Let them know that two are better than one as they mutually invest in and depend on each other—but that the third strand of their marriage ties should always be You.
May their love—like the wedding rings they will wear—be a circle that never ends. Grow that love relationship into one that is patient and kind, not boastful or proud, one that is unselfish and trusting, and a love that protects and perseveres through every season of life.
I pray you will give this couple unforgettable moments, unending dedication, and unselfish motives as they pledge their devotion to each another. In every way possible, make the house they build together a godly home—a place where hurts are healed with grace, a place where hearts are sealed with forgiveness, and a place where emotions feel safe when shared with honesty and gentleness. Keep their communication open—with You, and with each other as they make prayer a constant priority.
Lord, today and every day, let laughter echo in the halls of their hearts and home; let joy fill every room; and let the radiance of Your face shine on them, bless them, and give them a gracious peace that passes all understanding. Light a fire of passion that prompts them to love you with all their heart, soul, and strength, and one that engulfs their own union as man and wife in purity and oneness. Help them to bear each other’s burdens, even as they cast their cares on Your shoulders. May they always choose to see the best in each other, even in the worst of times.
May they visualize their marriage as more than just a bonding of two lives, but as two on mission for You, Lord—a lighthouse of refuge, a welcome place for encouragement, and a testimony to Your power and grace. Help them to cherish their wedding day as a sacred memorial, and their union as a treasure to protect at all costs. Make it a reminder of hope that keeps on going and faith that keeps on growing. Help them to believe that all things are possible through Christ, the One who began the good work in them.
Lord, on their wedding day, may every word spoken and every precious token remind them of the One who holds all things together and who makes all things good. Together as this couple stands side by side, and hand in hand, hold them tightly and never let them go. Fill their hearts with unceasing gratitude. Be their vision, their strength, and their constant companion.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen
A Wedding Ceremony Prayer
Father in Heaven, thank You for this husband, ______, and wife, _______, and their commitment to Christian marriage. As we look ahead, we pray that their future will never lack the convictions that make a marriage strong.
Bless this husband, ______. Bless him as provider and protector. Sustain him in all the pressures that come with the task of stewarding a family. May his strength be his wife’s boast and pride, and may he so live that his wife may find in him the haven for which the heart of a woman truly longs.
Bless this wife, ______. Give her a tenderness that makes her great, a deep sense of understanding, and a strong faith in You. Give her that inner beauty of a soul that never fades, that eternal youth that is found in holding fast to the things that never age. May she so live that her husband may be pleased to reverence her in the shrine of his heart.
Teach them that marriage is not living for each other. It is two people uniting and joining hands to serve You. Give them a great spiritual purpose in life. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that You will sustain them through all of life’s challenges.
May they minimize each other’s weaknesses and be swift to praise and magnify each other’s strengths so that they might view each other through a lover’s kind and patient eyes. Help them every day to be kind and gentle, more like You. Give them a little something to forgive each day, that their love might learn to be long-suffering.
Bless them and develop their characters as they walk together with You. Give them enough hurts to keep them humane, enough failures to keep their hands clenched tightly in Yours, and enough of success to make them sure they walk with You throughout all of their life.
May they never take each other’s love for granted but always experience that breathless wonder that exclaims, “Out of all this world, you have chosen me.” Then, when life is done and the sun is setting, may they be found then as now, still hand in hand, still very proud, still thanking You for each other.
May they travel together as friends and lovers, brother and sister, husband and wife, father and mother, and as servants of Christ until He shall return or until that day when one shall lay the other into the arms of God. This we ask through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the Great Lover of our souls. Amen.
