The story of St. John the Merciful, Patriarch of Alexandria
The sacrament of the birth of John the Merciful occurred inthe city of Amafunt, in Cyprus. His childhood could be called happy and comfortable. His family was noble and pious. At the age of fifteen, John met with the Providence of the Lord himself, after which he realized that it was necessary to give generously donations to all those in need. On himself, he constantly experienced the power of the higher Mercy. As soon as John gave something, he immediately received a hundredfold favor.
Over time, John was appointed patriarchAlexandrian. And the first thing he did was call all the church bailiffs who were in charge of farming and disposing of money, and asked them to rewrite all the poor and poor people who were under his protection. But when John heard about this, he called him to him, gave him a church ship fully loaded with grain, and humbly asked to always trust God. After that, the merchant set out on his journey. He was waiting for new troubles, but he sincerely began to pray to the Lord and at the stern of his ship saw John the Saint himself. This time the ship did not crash, and the merchant very profitable sold all the goods. Moreover, the tin, which he received as payment, turned into gold. And all this by the grace of St. John.

After the death of John, the church ranked him to faceSaints. Leonty of Neopolitan first described the life of St. John in the VII century.
