A Prayer for Personal Healing

God, you know me so well. You created me. You know the number of hairs on my head, and you even know the thoughts conceived in my heart before I ever vocalize them. You’ve told us to come to you and ask for every need of life. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and you have the final word on my destiny, the number of years I’ll live and serve you on earth.

I’m coming to you today as your child, longing to hear from you and asking for your divine healing. There’s so much I don’t understand about life. But I do know that with one touch, one word, you can make me whole. Please forgive me of my sins, cleanse me of my unrighteousness, and begin your healing from the inside out.

I don’t always know what your will is Lord, especially in times like now, when I desperately seek your face. I offer you no promises, no bargains, no deals to exchange for my health. I simply bow my heart before you to tell you the desire of my heart: that I want to spend as many years as I can loving you here, loving others, and wanting to become more like you. However you choose to accomplish that is up to you—and okay with me. If you use doctors to provide healing, give them wisdom to know what to do. Regardless of how you accomplish it, the healing you give is always miraculous. And you deserve all the praise.

I absolutely believe you have the power to heal. You demonstrated that on earth, and you still heal in miraculous ways today. Even when my faith is weak, you say it is enough, and my love for you is strong. And I know you already hold my heart and life in your hands. It’s up to you. If I can bring you more glory through healing, then that’s what I ask for. That’s what I desire.

But if your answer is no, or not now, I know that your grace is sufficient for me. Ultimately, I want your will to be my will. I look forward to spending an eternity with you. But Lord, if you have planned still more for me to do here on this earth, I not only need and want your physical healing, Lord, but a thorough, deep-down cleansing and strengthening—a whole-hearted renewal of all that I am. Because all that I am is yours. Use this trial to strengthen me from a “what-if” faith to a “no-matter-what” faith. And no matter what, I choose to honor you and give you glory.

A Prayer for Healing Sick Family and Friends

Lord Jesus, thank you that you love . I know that you hate what their illness is doing to them/me. I ask that you would heal this disease, that you would have compassion and bring healing from all sickness.

Your word says in Psalm 107:19-20 that when we call out to you the Eternal one you will give the order, heal and rescue us from certain death. In the Bible, I have read of miraculous healing and I believe that you still heal the same way today. I believe that there is no illness you cannot heal after all the bible tells of you raising people from the dead so I ask for your healing in this situation.

I also know from my experience of life on earth that not everyone is healed. If that happens here than keep my heart soft towards you, help me to understand your plan and help me to be excited about heaven.

God, I thank you that belongs to you and that you are in control of everything that happens from our first breath to our last sigh.

The goal of Pray4Healing is to provide resources and teaching on Prayer. The primary teachings are directed toward healing prayer but also included are teachings to help us to listen, learn and pray the way we really feel. It is known as the power of the simple prayer.

Information and teachings have been obtained from sources of  Protestant and Catholic teachings. The primary sources are from the Alpha Course (see information below),  Max Lucado (Author and pastor of an evangelical protestant church in San Antonio, TX view this great sermon on Prayer Needs to be Primary in our churches), Christian Healing Ministries (Directed by Francis MacNutt and Judith MacNutt, which is involved with many denominations and offer a wide variety of teachings and conferences) , and Christian Healing Institute (The Rev. Kathleen Christopher, Anglican Priest from Falls Church, VA.) and also from web sites  such as Thoughts About God.

A new link is also available  for 24-7prayer.com which is an organization striving to offer suggestions and guides for establishing prayer rooms and guiding small groups. 24-7 offers the Alpha Prayer Course listed under videos of our site also.

I recommend two new books. The first is by Dr. Mary C. Neal entitled “7 Lessons from Heaven” which give much added testimony to her previous book “To Heaven and Back”.

The second is by Pete Greig entitled “Dirty Glory: Go Where Your Best Prayers Take You (Red Moon Chronicles Book 2)”.“From the Upper Room of Pentecost to Azusa Street in Los Angeles, God has used prayer movements throughout history to change the world. Over fifteen years ago, a group of students gathered for a prayer vigil in Chichester, England—and the prayers they started haven’t stopped. Out of that first meeting came 24-7 Prayer: an international movement of prayer, mission, and justice that has reached Chinese underground churches, Indian slums, Papua New Guinea jungles, ancient English cathedrals, and even a brewery in Missouri. For many Christians, prayer is an obligation that has little bearing on everyday life. In 2004  three medical doctors who believed and taught about the Grace of God and His healing power presented at multiple sessions to introduce “Physicians, Patients, and Prayer”. This was the foundation of the efforts for this site. Along with their teaching there is a course called ALPHA ( developed at Holy Trinity, Brompton, a Church of England parish) which can be classified as a “back to basics of Christianity”. One of the sessions is entitled “Does God Heal Today”.  Thankfully the answer is YES.

Cancer happens always unexpectedly. This diagnosis is always shocking. It’s shocking not only to those who are diagnosed, but also affects all other family members as well. First reaction usually is anger, frustration and fear.  We are afraid of the pain of treatment, the uncertainty in cancer progress and our future. Death and sickness for some people are challenges that threaten their faith. It becomes difficult for our faith to be nourished and strengthened in the love of God when we are faced with this difficult disease. In such situation can help prayer for healing and strength, prayer for healing cancer, health and comfort.

Really the only way to stay strong in such situations is to address God with our prayers. Even those people who feel far away from God, try to find some hope and encouragement in His words and say prayer for healing.  God always gives us a hope, He is always with us as Isaiah 43:2 says: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you”. So you need to be: “strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Keep hope alive

In cancer situation we need to stay strong and keep hope. The Word of God is the most powerful weapon we have as His children to ward off threats to our faith. We should know that although the sickness might be exhausting, we need to rely on God’s will and mercy.

God is with you every time of the day and even in this trial time, He knows you inside and out and knows the pains you are experiencing right now. He alone has the power to help you in such situation. The Word of God in Matthew 11: 28 says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.” This is only one of many promises of God for you in His word. The study of the God’s word help you to discover many truths in the Bible pertaining to you.

God is aware of what you are going through.  He only wants you to talk to Him and trust Him. God will give you hope and confidence in the healing, health and strength in your situation. What you need to do is as 1 Thessalonians 5:17 say: “pray without ceasing”. In this article, we will list some powerful prayer points for the healing of cancer and giving strength in disease situation. Don’t lose faith and God will touch you at the very point where you need Him.

Prayer for healing

Your level of faith is proportional to the healing you get. You may never understand why God allowed this to happen to you but you should trust His word in Jeremiah 29:11. His plan for you is to prosper, give you good health and a future. See your future from today; refuse to believe that this disease would terminate your plans.

Although the questions “Why me? Why should this happen to me?” may be on your lips, we should understand that God allows some things to happen on purpose. This doesn’t mean He loves you less or  that it is  punishment for your sins. Do not underestimate His love for you. Accept this situation as part of your life and keep the hope in your heart, that even if God have other plan for you here on earth, you will reign with Him eternally.

Christian prayer for strength and healing cancer

God, I know the burden of my healing is upon your shoulders, therefore I place this burden of cancer into your hands and I ask that you lift me up in body, soul and spirit even when my faith is shaken and hope is declining.  I pray for hope, strength and encouragement. Please work in my heart, please take away all my fears. I pray for consolation and reconciliation.

And I thank you for your love you give to me. I know that you are aware of what this illness is causing to my body right now, I ask you God, be merciful for me. Your word in Psalm 107:19-20 says that when I call out to you, you will give the command, heal and rescue me from death and diseases, I have read of your wondrous healing in the Bible and I believe that in the same way  you will heal cancer in my body.

I know that there is nothing impossible for you, so I ask  you for healing in this situation of my life too. Please let me know and understand your plans for me and help me to feel your presence like never before.

My experience in life has taught me that it is not everyone who falls sick gets healed. If that happen to be me in this situation, help me to know and understand your plans for me and let me be calm.

I thank you God for my hope of healing and health. I pray you God, that you guide the doctors in the treatment of my disease. Amen.
