Bedtime prayer for toddler

Teaching your children some bedtime prayers is a great way to get them to enjoy this quiet time speaking with the Lord before nighttime. Here is a look at some of the most popular and simple bedtime prayers for toddlers that rhyme.

Prayer #1

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.”

Prayer #2

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.”

Prayer #3

“Our Father, Who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
Amen”

Prayer #4

“Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray to God my soul to take.
If I should live for other days,
I pray the Lord to guide my ways.

Father, unto thee I pray,
Thou hast guarded me all day;
Safe I am while in thy sight,
Safely let me sleep tonight.
Bless my friends, the whole world bless;
Help me to learn helpfulness;
Keep me every in thy sight;
So to all I say good night.”

We pray Your loving protection over all babies and their families and pray that many may be brought up to know the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. Give parents and grandparents and all those that are in any way connected with young babies the wisdom and grace to care for them in a loving and secure environment.

bedtime prayer for toddler

I LOVE it when God uses my kids to teach me an important life lesson. Every single time it happens, it’s so humbling and precious.

I imagine little Sutton Whitt’s parents are feeling about the same right now. Kathryn and Caleb Whitt of Seneca, South Carolina were rushing to put their 2-year-old daughter to bed Sunday night so they could watch the Carolina Panthers in the playoffs, so they skipped their nightly prayer ritual.

But it turns out, little Sutton knows how important prayer is! A few minutes later, her parents were shocked and thrilled to hear Sutton praying on her own on her baby monitor. It is TOO precious, and Kathryn was thankfully able to catch some of it on video!

According to Fox 59 News, Sutton normally rushes through her prayers at bedtime, taking about 20 seconds to recite everything. But on this night she spent a bit more time. In the video, she thoughtfully calls out the names of the people she’s praying for and says thanks many times. Sutton mentions everyone from her grandma to her parents to even Santa Claus.

“I was just shocked at her age that she wanted to think through everyone she wanted to pray for,” her mother said.

I gotta say, 2-year-old Sutton’s prayer pretty much takes the cake on ADORABLE! This blessed my socks off today. If it blesses you too, I hope you’ll share it on Facebook!

A 2-year-old girl is proving that even the smallest voices can make the biggest impact after a heartwarming video of her praying alone in her crib went viral.

Sutton Whitt had been rushed to bed Sunday night, skipping her regular bedtime prayer with her parents, when her mother says a curious noise caught her attention from another room.

After turning on the baby monitor to check on her daughter, Kathryn Whitt of Seneca, S.C., said she was blown away by the soft, endearing chatter she heard through the device.

Facebook A baby monitor captured a South Carolina toddler praying to God about all the people in her life she’s thankful for.

For more than two minutes — longer than what the video actually captured — the little girl is heard rambling off a long list of people she wanted to thank God for.

“Daddy and mama” come up several times, along with — who else? — Santa Claus.

She finishes with a dramatic “amen!”

Sutton’s mother uploaded the video to her Facebook page almost immediately after. It’s now been viewed more than 1.1 million times.

“We kind of encourage her to think of things that she’s thankful for, she’s grateful for,” her father, Caleb Whitt, told Fox and Friends of their nightly prayer, “so she’s praying for the people that are important to her.”

Asked by Fox and Friends what kind of moral or impact the recording may have, her father answered:

“We can all look into our lives and realize that there’s something to be grateful for and just try to find the positive things and the greatest thing.”
