Heavenly Father, I bow in worship and praise before You. I cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ as my protection during this time of prayer. I surrender myself completely and unreservedly in every area of my life to Yourself. I do take a stand against all the workings of Satan that would hinder me in this time of prayer, and I address myself only to the true and living God an refuse any involvement of satan in my prayer.
satan, I command you, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to leave my presence with all your demons, and I bring the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ between us.
Heavenly Father, I worship You, and I give You praise. I recognize that You are worthy to receive all glory and honor and praise. I renew my allegiance to You and pray that the blessed Holy Spirit would enable me in this time of prayer. I am thankful, heavenly Father, that You have lobed me from past eternity, that You sent the Lord Jesus Christ into the world to die as my substitute that I would be redeemed. I am thankful that the Lord Jesus Christ came as my representative, and that through Him You have completely forgiven me; You have given me eternal life; You have given me the perfect righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ so I am now justified. I am thankful that in Him You have made me complete, and that You have offered Yourself to me to be my daily help and strength.
Heavenly Father, come and open my eyes that I might see how great You are and how complete Your provision is for this new day. I do, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, take my place with Christ in the heavenliness with all principalities and powers (powers of darkness and wicked spirits) under my feet. I am thankful that the victory the Lord Jesus Christ won for me on the cross and in His resurrection has been given to me and that I am seated with the Lord Jesus Christ in the heavenliness; therefore, I declare that all principalities and powers and all wicked spirits are subject to me in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am thankful for the armor You have provided, and I put on the girdle of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the sandals of peace, the helmet of salvation. I lift up the shield of faith against all the fiery darts of the enemy, and take in my hand the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, and use Your Word against all the forces of evil in my life; and I put on this armor and live and pray in complete dependence upon You, blessed Holy Spirit.
I am grateful, heavenly Father, that the Lord Jesus Christ spoiled all principalities and powers and made a show of them openly and triumphed over them in Himself. I claim all that victory for my life today. I reject out of my life all the insinuations, the accusations, and the temptations of satan. I affirm that the Word of God is true, and I choose to live today in the light of God’s Word. I choose, heavenly Father, to live in obedience to You and in fellowship with Yourself. Open my eyes and show me the areas of my life that would not please You. Work in my life that there be no ground to give satan a foothold against me. Show me any area of weakness. Show me any area of my life that I must deal with so that I would please You. I do in every way today stand for You and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in my life.
By faith an in dependence upon you, I put off the old man and stand in all victory of the crucifixion where the Lord Jesus Christ provided cleansing from the old nature. I put on the new man and stand in all the victory of the resurrection and the provision He has made for me there to live above sin. Therefore, in this day, I put off the old nature with its selfishness, and I put on the new nature with its love. I put off the old nature with its fear and I put on the new nature with its courage. I put off the old nature with its weakness and I put on the new nature with its strength. I put off today the old nature with all its deceitful lusts and I put on the new nature with all its righteousness and purity.
I do in every way stand in the victory of the ascension and the glorification of the Son of God where all principalities and powers were made subject to Him, and I claim my place in Christ victorious with Him over all the enemies of my soul. Blessed Holy Spirit, I pray that You would fill me. Come into my life, break down every idol and cast out every foe.
I am thankful, heavenly Father, for the expression of Your will for my daily life as You have shown me in Your Word. I therefore claim all the will of God for today. I am thankful that You have blessed me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. I am thankful that You have begotten me unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. I am thankful that You have made a provision so that today I can live filled with the Spirit of God with love and joy and self-control in my life. And I recognize that this is Your will for me, and I therefore reject and resist all the endeavors of satan and of his demons to rob me of the will of God. I refuse in this day to believe my feelings, and I hold up the shield of faith against all the accusations and against all the insinuations that satan would put in my mind. I claim the fullness of the will of God for today.
I do, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, completely surrender myself to You, heavenly Father, as living sacrifice. I choose not to be conformed to this world. I choose to be transformed by the renewing of my mind, and I pray that You would show me Your will and enable me to walk in all the fullness of the will of God today.
I am thankful, heavenly Father, that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, to the casting down of imaginations and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and to bring every thought into obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore in my own life today I tear down the strongholds of satan, and I smash the plans of satan that have been formed against me. I tear down the strongholds of satan against my mind, and I surrender my mind to You, blessed Holy Spirit. I affirm, heavenly Father, that You have not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I break and smash the strongholds of satan formed against my emotions today, and I give my emotions to You. I smash the strongholds of satan formed against my will today, and I give my will to You, and choose to make the right decisions of faith. I smash the strings of satan formed against my body today, I give my body to You, recognizing that I am Your temple; and I rejoice in Your mercy and Your goodness.
Heavenly Father, I pray that now through this day You would quicken me; show me the way that satan is hindering and tempting and lying and counterfeiting and distorting the truth in my life. Enable me to be the kind of person that would please you. Enable me to be aggressive in prayer. Enable me to be aggressive mentally and to think Your thoughts after You, and to give You Your rightful place in my life.
Again, I now cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and pray that You, blessed Holy Spirit, would bring all the work of the crucifixion, all the work of the resurrection, all the work of the glorification, and all the work of Pentecost into my life today. I surrender myself to You. I refuse to be discouraged. You are the God of all hope. You have proven Your power by resurrecting Jesus Christ from the dead, and I claim in every way Your victory over all satan ic forces active in my life, and I reject these forces; and I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving. Amen.
Also it would be beneficial to make a list if the sins in your life like pornography, masturbation, fornication, adultery, drugs, alcohol, etc. and renounce them to the Lord Jesus Christ saying: “I renounce these sins and repent, I will not do them again Lord.”
Unforgiveness – Matthew 6:15: “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Jesus Christ came to earth in the flesh, suffered greatly and died for us so that we do not carry our past bitterness, anger, and hatred around with us in our lives. We must recognize and respect that he did this for US and for no one else! This is an incredible and merciful gift so we have to transfer all of these negative emotions and feelings to the cross of Jesus Christ.
Living in Sin – Luke:24:46: “And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:”

1. Satan and His Demons Have Already Been Defeated by Jesus at the Cross
The very first thing you will need to know is that Satan, his demons, and all of their supernatural powers have been totally defeated by Jesus when He died on the cross for all of us.
Here are 6 extremely powerful verses that you will need to have underneath your belt if you are ever forced to have to deal with any kind of a direct demonic attack – either against yourself or anyone else you may know.
Demons hate, and I mean hate, every single one of these verses, as they are all a constant reminder to each and everyone of them that they are all defeated and that they have no chance against any true, born-again Christian who knows who they really are in Jesus Christ, who knows how to wield the Sword of the Holy Spirit, and who knows how to walk with the anointing that God can flow through them.
- “… that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Hebrews 2:14)
- “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:13)
- “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:15)
- “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)
- “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Revelation 12:11)
- “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God has also highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:5-11)
Notice these 4 key phrases:
- Jesus fully destroyed the devil and all of his works through His death on the cross
- Jesus has fully delivered us from the power of darkness
- Jesus has fully disarmed principalities and powers
- That every knee shall bow to Jesus, including those who under the earth, which are demons
These extremely powerful statements being made to all of us by God through His Holy Word are all full and final.
Bottom line – Jesus has fully defeated the devil, all of his demons, and all of the supernatural works they are capable of doing against us at the cross.
As a result of Jesus dying on the cross for all of our sins, we have now received the Holy Spirit.
As a result of having the Holy Spirit now living on the inside of us, we now have God’s supernatural power available to us to defeat any demons who may try to come against us in this life.
Demons are defeated and cast out by the Word of God and by the power of the Holy Spirit moving against them.
And this will now lead us right to the next section, which will show us that Jesus Christ Himself has now given us His full authority and His full power to be able to cast demons out of people.
2. Jesus Has Given Us His Authority and Power to Cast Out Demons
When directly engaging with demons, the next set of battle verses you will need are the ones that will show you that Jesus Christ Himself has given us His direct authority and power to be able to directly engage with them and cast them out of anyone they may be living in.
Here are 38 extremely powerful verses showing the supernatural power we now have as born-again Christians to be able to directly engage with any demons who may ever come our way in this life.

- “For You are my lamp, O Lord; the Lord shall enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop; by my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” (2 Samuel 22:29)
- “It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on high places. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints …” (Ephesians 6:13-18)
When you read all of these verses, one right after the other, you get the message loud and clear that God really does want to anoint all of us for battle and not to be afraid of it once He starts to do it with each one of us. The very last verse says it all when it tells us that God wants to fully arm us for battle, and then goes as far as to tell us exactly what He wants to arm us with.
Bottom line – we have all been called to become good soldiers of Jesus Christ and to fight the good fight of faith on His behalf.
There are captives out there that need to be set free – and God needs soldiers who will be willing to go behind enemy lines from time to time to try and rescue some of these captives. As Baptist deliverance minister Don Dickerman has said in his excellent new book, “When Pigs move In,” God needs an army, not an audience.
3. God Will Fight For You
These next set of verses will show us how God Himself will come to our aid and help us fight our battles when the enemy is coming directly after us. And sometimes that enemy will be real, live, demonic spirits.
The first two verses are major, and I mean major power verses, as they will show us that not only is our God a powerful Man of War, but that He can actually be stirred up to go into battle for us. And if God is for us and will help fight our battles for us, then who could possibly be against us – including any demonic spirits who may try and come against us.
Here are 24 major power verses that you can use against any demons who may attempt to come directly against you in this life. These verses again, will put the absolute fear of God into these demons, and they will help drive them off you or anyone else you may be trying to deliver from their evil grip.
- “The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name … Your Right Hand, O Lord, has become glorious in power; Your right hand, O Lord, has dashed the enemy in pieces. And in the greatness of Your excellence you have overthrown those who rose against You; You sent forth Your wrath which consumed them like stubble.” (Exodus 15:3,6)
- “The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies.” (Isaiah 42:13)
- “I will go before you and make the crooked paths straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron.” (Isaiah 45:2)
- “Therefore understand today the Lord your God is He who goes before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the Lord has said to you.” (Deuteronomy 9:3)
- “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:14)
- “Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord. (Jeremiah 1:8)
- “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” (2 Chronicles 32:7)
- “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, ‘Destroy!’ ” (Deuteronomy 33:27)
- “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” (2 Thessalonians 3:3)
- “And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom.” (2 Timothy 4:18)
- “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
- “When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” (Isaiah 59:19)
- “Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.” (Psalm 20:6)
- “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and You right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me …” (Psalm 138:7)
- “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.” (Psalm 34:17)
- “For you shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight; for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” (Isaiah 52:12)
- Do not say, “I will recompense evil;” Wait for the Lord, and He will save you.” (Proverbs 20:22)
- “Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth; yet they have not prevailed against me … The Lord is righteous; He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked.” (Psalm 129:2)
- “Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He has broken the gates of bronze, and cut the bars of iron in two.” (Psalm 107:15-16)
- “God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If He does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready. He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.” (Psalm 7:11)
- “He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness. For by strength no man shall prevail. The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces; from heaven He will thunder against them. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength to His king, and exalt the horn of His anointed. (1 Samuel 2:9)
- “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.” (Psalm 18:2)
- “But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.” (Psalm 37:39)
- “And the devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10)
Again, when you read all of these verses one right after the other, you can really feel the power and seriousness that is on each one of them, and how hard God is trying to drive home the point that He will really come to our aid and help fight our battles for us if we will just call upon Him.
No demon from hell can withstand the power of God once God starts to move against them as a powerful Man of War.
4. God Will Dry Up the Waters of the Enemy
One of the strategies I will be talking about in an upcoming article is how God will dry up the waters of the enemy. Waters are very important to both God and demons in the spiritual realm.
In reference to the Holy Spirit, Jesus tells us in John 7:38 that out of our heart will flow rivers of living water. And the Word of God itself is compared to water in Ephesians 5:26, where it says that “with the washing of water by the word.”
In the same way, demons are also looking for water in which to feed and drink from in the spiritual realm. The verse that gives us this key piece of revelation is found in Matthew 12:43. This verse says that when demons leave a person they had been in, they go through “dry places,” and “seeking rest,” they find “none.” Here is this direct verse:
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.” (Matthew 12:43)
Notice that these demons are not finding rest in the dry places they are going through after they had just left a person. If they are not finding rest in those dry places, then that tells you they do not like dry places. And if they do not like dry places, then that tells you they like places that will give them some kind of water.
And once they enter into a person because of the appropriate legal rights being given to them, they will then start to feed and drink from the water that is already on the inside of the person. And what is the water they are drinking from on the inside of that person?
It is the legal rights that allowed them entrance into this person in the first place. This is why once you break all of their legal rights, you will dry up all of their waters. And once you dry up all of their waters, you will severely weaken them and they will have nothing else left to be able to feed and drink from.
Weaken the demons with these kinds of additional strategies, and they will then be much easier to cast out once you start to directly engage with them.
Here are some verses from back in the OT that will show you that this was one of the warfare strategies that God the Father used from time to time against some of the enemies that Israel had to face.
- “A drought is against her waters, and they will be dried up. For it is the land of carved images, and they are insane with their idols.” (Jeremiah 50:38)
- “Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry. Babylon shall become a heap, a dwelling place for jackals, an astonishment and a hissing, without an inhabitant.” (Jeremiah 51:36-37)
- “The waters will fail from the sea, and the river will be wasted and dried up. The rivers will turn foul, and the brooks of defense will be emptied and dried up; the reeds and rushes will wither.” (Isaiah 19:5-6)
- “The Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet. He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Basham and Carmel wither, and the flower of Lebanon wilts.” (Nahum 1:3-4)
- “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.” (Matthew 12: 43-45)
This particular strategy will be talked about in more depth in an upcoming heavy article on how to cast out demons who are on the inside of a person.
5. Battle Angels Will Help Protect Us and Fight for Us
Not only will God Himself help fight our battles for us, especially against demonic spirits, but these next set of verses will show us that His battle angels will also help protect us and fight for us when needed.
As such, you can simply ask God to station these battle angels around you when you get ready to directly engage with any demons who may be trying to come against you. These war angels will not only come to help protect you, but at times they can also war directly against the demons themselves – all on your behalf.
- “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.” (Psalm 34:7)
- “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.” (Psalm 91:11)
- “And let the angel of the Lord chase him … And let the angel of the Lord pursue them … Let the destruction come upon him unexpectedly.” (Psalm 35:5-8)
- “Behold, I sent an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.” (Exodus 23:20)
- “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14)
- “For Satan himself transforms himself into an ANGEL OF LIGHT. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” (2 Corinthians 11:14)
- “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, BUT TEST THE SPIRITS, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” (1 John 4:1-4)
The last two verses will help warn us that Satan and his demons can try and come to us acting like they are one of God’s angels. If an angel were all of a sudden to ever appear to you, you have to properly test him to make sure that he is one of God’s angels.
The way you do it is by asking him to confess out to you that Jesus Christ has already come to our earth in the flesh. A demon will not be able to make that kind of a confession to you. If the angel fails this test, then just command it to immediately leave you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Conclusion
Again, we cannot emphasize strongly enough how powerful all of these battle verses are when having to deal direct with any kind of demonic spirits. Jesus has already totally defeated Satan and all of his demons at the cross. All of these battle verses are a constant reminder to every single demon who is still roaming in the air that they are already defeated.
By using these types of battle verses against demons, you will show them the following three things:
- That you mean serious business with them
- That you know who you really are in Jesus Christ
- And that they will be no match against you if they try to stay and fight – as you will have both the Word of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and some of God’s battle angels by your side to be able to fight directly against them and totally defeat them
Again, these battle verses will give you all of the major live ammunition that you will ever need to be able to totally defeat any demons who may ever come your way in this life.
Remember, it is the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit moving against the demons that will drive them out of whatever situation you are currently dealing with.
Also, if you would like to draw up your own personal battle prayer like we have done in many of our testimonies, you can just simply cut and paste which battle verses you would like to use on a word document, and then form out your own personal battle prayer so you can directly engage with them.

It’s true. You have an adversary who wants to attack your desires, your thoughts, even how you see and treat your body. So you and I need to be on guard against Satan’s schemes.
According to 1 Peter 5:8, “Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (NASB). But God’s Word also gives us a strategy against those attacks by telling us to “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes…” (Ephesians 6:11-18). I find it interesting that every piece of “armor” described in that passage refers to the character of Christ. In other words, put on Christ-likeness – abide in Christ – and you will fend off the attacks of the enemy.
We abide in Christ through surrender and constant communion with Him. As you suit up with the armor of God, here are five prayers to pray against Satan’s attacks on your heart, mind, emotions, mouth, and body.
1. A Prayer to Guard Your Heart
Lord God, Captain of my heart, Satan knows if I follow Your Greatest Commandment – to love You with all my heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37) – he is powerless over me. Guard my heart, Lord Jesus, so that it beats for You alone. Don’t let me grow complacent toward You or be lured to love anyone or anything more than You. Remove the idols from my heart so that You alone command my allegiance and utmost affections Help me to love and forgive others as You have forgiven me so the enemy can get no foothold through hate or bitterness on my part. Cultivate in my heart Your love that “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (>1 Corinthians 13:7, NASB). Finally, Lord, set my heart on things above, not on earthly things. Help me to remember that You died for me and my life is now hidden which Christ in God (>Colossians 3:1-2). Increase my longing for heaven so this world holds no power over me.
2. A Prayer to Defend Your Mind
Almighty God, cover my mind with the helmet of Your salvation, reminding me constantly that I am Your child and the enemy can’t mess with me. Fix my thoughts, Lord Jesus, on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Help me to think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise so Your peace will guard my mind (Philippians 4:8-9). Don’t let me copy the behavior and customs of this world, but transform me into a new person by changing the way I think. Then I will learn to recognize Your will for me which is good and pleasing and perfect (Romans 12:2, NLT). Saturate my mind with Your truth so I am convinced that the answers are found in Your Word, not out in the world.

3. A Prayer to Calm Your Emotions
Lord, keep the enemy at bay by calming my emotions with the peace of Your presence. Help me to follow Your command and not worry about anything, but pray about everything, with a thankful heart offering up prayers and requests to you so that You can give me that peace that no one can completely understand – a peace that will control the way I think and feel (Phil. 4:6-7, CEV). Remind me, daily, that You are the Only One who can meet my emotional needs so I don’t look to any person for my identity, validation, or for my love tank to be filled. Thank You that You are the God of peace, the God of order, the God who heals my wounds and helps me sort through and make sense of life. You are not the God of chaos or confusion. Fill me with Your Spirit so I may express to others only love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
4. A Prayer to Cover Your Mouth
Lord, Jesus, guard my mouth so that my words will be few. Help me to be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger (James 1:19). Don’t let me speak reckless words that can pierce like swords. Instead, give me a tongue that brings healing (Proverbs 12:18). Don’t let me give in to gossip or speak careless critical words that will wound others. Keep the enemy far from me so that no unwholesome talk comes out of my mouth but only what is helpful for building others up, according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Don’t let me grieve the Holy Spirit through my words (Ephesians 4:29-30).
5. A Prayer to Protect Your Body
Lord, I give my body to You. Let it be a living and holy sacrifice, the kind You will find acceptable (Romans 12:1, NLT). I know from Your Word that Satan can not sift me like wheat or even lay a hand on me without Your permission. So place Your hedge around me so that my body – Your temple – can be preserved, pure, holy, and healthy for You (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Block Satan’s attempts to make me doubt that I am “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14) and don’t let me listen to his taunts to harm my body through neglect, contempt, addiction or abuse. I am Yours, Lord Jesus, and I want to glorify You in my body so keep me from Satan’s attempts and the temptations in this world and in my flesh to make me impure, to dress immodestly, to make my body a showcase or advertisement for evil or self glorification.

Part 2- First 2 Levels of Spiritual Warfare Part 3 – 3rd and 4th Levels of Spiritual Warfare My Conclusion And Recommended Reading
In the realm of spiritual warfare against demonic spirits, I believe there are 4 basic levels in which an individual believer may have to face – depending on what you may be dealing with in your present set of circumstances and what you may have in your past background.
Having the specific knowledge on what each one of these 4 levels are all about can really help you in being able to plan and carry out the appropriate battle strategy in which to defeat demons should they ever move in for an attack on either you or any of your close loved ones.
But before I get into exactly what these four areas are, I want to give you some very basic verses from the Bible showing you the importance that God the Father is placing on that we realize the reality of demonic spirits in this world, and that we not be afraid to engage and cast them out of people when we do run across them in this life.
Here are 8 very powerful verses from the Bible, all showing us that we are not to be afraid of demons, and that we are to directly engage with them if we have to, operating under God’s authority and anointing to be able to do so.
- And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe. In my name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15-18)
- “Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee … the Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor, He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:14-18)
- “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
- “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:1)
- “And He called the twelve to Him, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits … And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.” (Mark 6:7,13)
- “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” (Matthew 10:1)
- “But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:6-8)
- “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)
If you will notice, every time Jesus gave His apostles the power and command to go out and walk with His anointing, He always told them to cast out demons as one of His specific commands – no exceptions!
So if Jesus was constantly casting out demons, always telling the apostles to cast out demons, and the apostles too were always casting out demons, then it should only be logical that the Church should continue to still cast out demons when needed.
It has been estimated by many Bible scholars that approximately 25% of the miracles Jesus had performed were Him casting demons out of people. Satan and his demons are not confined to the Bottomless Pit at this time. This event will not happen until Jesus returns back to us in His second coming. Until that event happens, Satan and his demons are still free to roam in the “air” seeking who they are going to try and devour next.
As Christians, we always have to remember that the devil and his demons are already defeated foes. Jesus has already defeated Satan at the cross when He was crucified.
What is now left is that all Christians have to realize that the victory is already ours.
We thus have to learn how to engage and defeat the devil and his demons when they do try to move in on a person or a situation – and sometimes this means a real live deliverance – because demons can attach themselves to people when they do move in for an attack.
And once they do, the only way to be able to drive them out is by the power of God!
Before I get into the four specific areas in which demons will try and come against people, especially Christians, there is one more big debate going on right now in the Body of Christ about how far demons can go with Christians. This debate is whether or not a demon can actually enter in on the inside of a Christian.
Many believe that once you are saved and become born again, that demons cannot enter in on the inside of you. The Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit will literally come in and enter in on the inside of your human spirit at the moment of your conversion with Jesus. As a result of our bodies now becoming the temple of the Holy Spirit, they believe there is no way that a demon or a group of demons can enter in on the inside of your body.
At first glance, this does appear to be a very logical argument. However, what they are missing is the fact that the Bible tells us that we have three, distinct, separate parts to our being. We have a body, a soul, and a spirit. The Holy Spirit is living and dwelling in your human spirit, but He is not living up in your soul or body area.
If a Christian ends up committing a severe, door-opening sin and transgression against the Lord giving the demons full legal right to be able to directly attack him, then what the demons will try and do if they can get away with it is try and enter into that person’s body and soul. They will not be able to enter into the Christian’s spirit because the Holy Spirit is already living in there. But they will be able to enter into the body and soul of that person if the transgression has been deemed to be severe enough by the Lord.
Talk to any deliverance minister who does deliverances on a regular basis, and every single one of them will tell you that demons can enter in on the inside of a Christian, and that they then have to be cast out of them by way of an actual deliverance. In fact, they cannot cast the demons out of a person unless that person is a Christian to begin with, or unless that person is willing to become a Christian if they are not saved.
If an unsaved person has demons living and operating on the inside of them, they will have no spiritual authority to be able to cast the demons out of them. This kind of deliverance is only available for born-again Christians.
One of the things Christians can do to totally safeguard themselves from ever having a demon try to enter in on the inside of them is to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. We have an article in the Bible Basics section of our site on exactly what this gift is all about and how to properly receive it.
What happens with this second experience is that the Holy Spirit will release from your spirit and come up and enter into your soul. Once the Holy Spirit is residing in both your spirit and soul areas, then the demons will not be able to enter into your soul since the Holy Spirit is now living in there as a result of having received this gift.
This is why after a Christian gets delivered from demons, a deliverance minister will try and get the person to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit – to help safeguard and prevent the demons from ever being able to get back in on the inside of that person ever again.
This debate has been going on for a long time in the Body of Christ and will obviously never be resolved anytime in the near future. The only thing that I can personally tell you is that I have come across quite a few Christians who have had demons literally dwelling on the inside of them and they all had to have the demons cast out of them by way of an actual deliverance.
At the end of this article, I will give you a list of the best books ever written on the subject of deliverance and engaging with demons. Each one of these books have been written by very creditable, anointed men and women of God who have learned much in this area of spiritual warfare. And what you will find out very quickly when reading from each one of them is that they have all found out in the real battlefields of life where this kind of activity does exist, that Christians can draw demons on the inside of them if the demons have the appropriate legal rights to be able to enter in.
As I get into the four specific areas where demons can directly attack a Christian, you will see me break this down into two very basic areas. If demons come in for an attack, they will either try and attack you from an outside position, which means they are attacking you from the “air.” When they are attacking you from an outside position, they are not on the inside of your body or soul. These attacks are coming at you from the outside of your being.
The other position that demons can attack you is from the inside position, which means they are attacking you from the inside of your body. And if they are on the inside of your body being able to attack you from this inside position, then something has happened that has given them the legal right to be able to enter in on the inside of you.
Your job will then be to find out what their legal right is so that you can get it properly broken before God the Father. Once you have properly broken all of their legal rights before God the Father, then you can turn around and command them to now leave you in the name of Jesus.
But whether you are dealing with demons attacking you from an outside position or from an inside position – the rules are still the same.
Find out what their legal rights are, properly break those legal rights before God the Father, and then turn around and verbally cast all of them out in the name of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
As much as I hate to say this, there is a real war game going on between God and the devil for all of our souls. And in this war game are real, live, demonic spirits who will come after people, especially Christians – and they will try to get away with inflicting as much death, terror, destruction, and oppression as they possibly can.
This is why the Bible is telling us that we are to resist the devil – that we are to cast out demons when and where needed – and that we are to become good soldiers of Jesus Christ.
We are to be as bold as lions, and we are to learn how to walk in the anointing of God so that we can properly use the power and authority that God has already given to each one of us through His Holy Spirit.
The Bible makes it very clear as to what kind of big picture we all have to deal with. Each Christian thus has to make up their own personal mind as to how they will deal with this big picture and the war games that are really going on behind the scenes between God and the devil.
The apostle Paul could not have said it any better when he said that our real battle in this life is not with flesh and blood, but with principalities and powers, which are demons and demon powers.
You can either learn how to rise up and walk with the anointing and power of God in your life so as to be able to do battle against your enemies, whether they be demons or other evil people – or you can choose to hide your head in the sand and let demons and other evil people keep tearing you and your family to pieces.
We have another article in the “Spiritual Warfare” section of our site titled, “Battle Verses of the Bible.” In this article, I give you 100 of the best battle verses from the Bible showing you that God the Father is a “Man of War,” that He does have a war side to His personality, and that He will not hesitate to go into battle for you and your close loved ones if you are willing to stand up and fight your enemies as a true soldier of Jesus Christ.
But before God can go into battle for you, you will first have to be willing to march onto that battlefield and face your enemy head on like David did with Goliath. The choice is yours.
In the “Testimonies” section of our site, we have several powerful testimonies from people who were taught how to directly engage with their enemies, and in several of these cases, their enemies were demonic spirits.
These people were all getting torn apart with what these demons were able to get away with – and this was all occurring because they did not know how to directly engage with them and how to drive them off them and their current situation.
Once we showed them how to go on the offensive and directly engage with these demons, every single one of them received complete and total deliverance – and in most of the cases, deliverance came within 24-48 hours. This is how powerful a thing it really is if you can learn how to go on the offensive against your enemies by operating under the authority, power, and guidance of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
Now onto the first 2 different areas you may have to face when dealing with any type of direct attacks from demonic spirits.
