Short prayer for protection and guidance

Throughout Scripture we are reminded of God’s direction over our lives. He is our good Shepherd who leads us and He desires that we follow the path that leads to joy and contentment.  When we pray for God’s guidance and for discernment through the Holy Spirit, we can rest assured that God will provide wisdom! We do not have to worry about our next step or about tomorrow because we know who guides our way! Do not rush your day without going before God to seek guidance!

A Short Prayer for Guidance

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your guidance. Forgive me for getting ahead of Your plans, and help me know when to stop and listen for Your direction. Your ways are perfect, Lord. Thank You for offering gentle grace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Lord, I pray you would move the Spirit more boldly in my life. I know that any sin can grieve and diminish the voice of the Spirit, and I pray against the temptation to sin. Lord, I’m here today with open hands and an open heart, ready to depend on you to help me through the day and all it will bring my way. Help me be like Nehemiah, help me come to you for guidance, strength, provision and protection. Prayer for Guidance in the Day Ahead 

Good morning, Lord! Today’s a new day, a chance for a new start. Yesterday is gone and with it any regrets, mistakes, or failures I may have experienced. It’s a good day to be glad and give thanks, and I do, Lord. Thank you for today, a new opportunity to love, give, and be all that you want me to be.

Today I want to start the day with you on my mind and in my heart. As I dress, let me wear the armor you’ve provided daily: the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the belt of truth, the shoes of peace, and the sword of the spirit—with prayer on my tongue: praise for you and petitions for those around me and those I meet.

Feed me today with your daily bread. As the Bread of Life, your food, like manna, will sustain me throughout any trials and hungers. Help me to set my thoughts on things above and to speak only what will help and encourage others. Keep me from putting my foot in my mouth, and help me guard the affections of my heart today, Lord. Make whatever work I do be marked with excellence rather than perfectionism, as I seek not to make a name, but to make a difference. Help me to treat each person I encounter as you would, with respect and love, forgiving others and asking for forgiveness myself when needed.

As I start this day, help me remember that I belong to you, and my desire is to act accordingly. Keep my feet from stumbling and my mind from wandering into distractions that could steal precious time and energy from the most important things you have designed for me. I’m proud to be your child, Lord. And I’m so grateful that you died for me—rising again on your own new morning—so that every day could be filled with the wonder of your love, the freedom of your Spirit, and the joy of knowing you.

I know earthly life is short and fleeting, Lord. But I want to live today as if it were the first or the last day of my life, giving thanks for every good and perfect gift you choose to give. Today, and every day, I want to live my life for you, Jesus. In your precious name, Amen.

A Prayer for Discernment and Wisdom When You Need God’s Direction

Lord, thank You for the people You have divinely placed in my life who speak holy truth, love and words of wisdom. Give me a heart of discernment to know when You are using someone to speak instruction into my heart and my circumstances, and give me the strength and courage to follow through with that advice, even when it’s hard. I pray with love for your most sacred heart, protect my husband from those who seek to discredit his work, help him to rise above the challenge through your grace and guide him to a new situation where he can use his talents for your glory.

Show us how to guide our daughter through some troubles and may she find joy in her talent and be rewarded this weekend for your glory , relieve the anxiety of our other daughter and bless her work and provide her with a spiritual director and may our other daughter find great love. May I find connection and purpose. Praise to our king forever and ever!

Heavenly Father, I adore you and I love you with all my heart and soul. I thank you for having created me, and for watching over me in all that I do, every single day. Pardon me for my sins. I ask that you watch over me while I rest and recover from illness. Please protect my body, and help me heal from this sickness that weakens me. May your unending grace be with me forever and ever. I trust in all that You do, and all that You are.

Please help them to find rest in your shadow, and through your everlasting embrace, as they live in the spiritual shelter You provide for them. Let them know that the only safe place is in beside their Heavenly Father, and that their home on earth is only temporary. 

Prayer for Personal Protection

Oh Heavenly Father, I come to You today, bowing my head and opening my heart, asking for protection from all the evil this world holds. Lord, we are assailed moment by moment with images on television, the internet, books and newspapers that leave us vulnerable to sin of every kind, every single day. Surround us with your divine hedge of unbreakable protection. Encompass us round about with your strength and your glorious might. Let all who take refuge in You be happy and feel safe. Please shelter us, Heavenly Father, that those who love your name may exalt in You. For it is You who blesses the righteous man and those who give their lives to You.

Whenever you are fearful, you probably always think that hopefully there could be someone who can rescue or protect you. Worry no more. Why look for someone when you have God to protect you all the time? Keep in mind that the Lord is the Great Protector. By saying a

prayer for protection

, He will deliver you from evil and other harmful elements there are. God is the one who covers, shelters, defends and watches over you. Uttering a prayer is calling His name for protection.

When you pray for His protection, you will be able to remind yourself that you live in a lengthy tradition of religion and have faith in Him as your protector and guardian. The Lord will never disappoint you whenever you call His name. You are probably thinking that your prayers are left unanswered. But the truth is, He speaks to you in ways you do not notice. When you say a prayer for protection, you are asking God to guide you all the time, protect you from harm and lead you to the right path.

Saying a prayer is like opening your heart to the Lord and treating Him as a friend who can protect and guide you all the time. Never forget to pray before you go to bed every night. Although you are comfortably asleep, you definitely need the protection of the Lord.

Through the precious blood of Jesus, you will be protected from your enemies and other harmful elements. In this modern society, there are a lot of things that could possibly happen. There are different sources of harm or danger. Yet, the Lord knows the heart of His people. God will never allow you to live in fear or anxiety, that is why you can always say a prayer for protection and ask for His guidance everyday. A heart-felt prayer will make you feel protected, at ease and calm.
