Sarah Hart – Praying with a Broken Heart Songtext
I asked you for the light
You gave me a long, dark night
Gave me shadows for my path
There was no turning back
And you whispered “hold on tight”
I asked you for some peace of mind
So you gave me fight inside
And how I wrestled with the truth
Went round and round with you
Could not shake you but I try
It’s like dancing with the stone
Oh how I’m trying to let go
So I pray with a broken heart
That’s where the healing start
Sing the song of wayward child
“be Thou my vision”
I’m looking for another sign
Mercy in a sweet sunrise
Wanna be wherever you are
I’m praying withe broken heart
I’m praying with broken heart
I asked you for a little faith
And you put a mountain in my way
And I’ve wasted so much time
Nothing left to do but climb
Now every step is grace
Only you could start a fire
On such an empty mountainside
For all we lost in Eden
For all I still believe in

If your heart has never been broken, which is unlikely, you may not fully comprehend what a broken heart is. Ever fallen deep in love, gotten into a serious relationship, where things are blissful and you’re looking forward to settling down? Then boom! Your boyfriend or girlfriend tells you it’s over; that they don’t love you anymore; that you’re not fun to be with. How would that feel? For those who’ve been there, they know quite well how much of a heartbreak it is.
Besides romantic relationships, there are a myriad other things that break people’s hearts. Think of receiving the news of the sudden death of a loved one; how about going through excruciating pain due to an illness that’s incurable; what of the pain of losing your one and only child? The list of things that can break our hearts is endless.
The person whose heart is broken is the one who knows what it feels like. That’s understandable because, like the Bible says in the book of Proverbs 14:10, “The heart knows its own bitterness.”
When your heart is broken, you may consider staying alone, including skipping church services. Instead of staying home, consider the words of Charles Spurgeon that say, “There are many sorts of broken hearts, and Christ is good at healing them all.”
A broken heart needs a healer and the best healer is Jehovah God Almighty. If during your lowest moment, you turn to God in contriteness, you’ll doubtlessly find peace in your heart. When we remember the biblical accounts of people like Sarah, Hosea, David, and Jacob among many others, we learn that God is faithful and a healer of broken hearts.
A broken heart is an open heart, resulting in a state of vulnerability. At that point, it’s best to turn to a physician with a blameless track record; one who won’t take advantage of your state to cause you further harm. Stay strong by singing hymns, praying, and listening to sermons. By so doing, you can be sure to receive inner strength that’ll see you through your difficulty.
While pain is a personal thing, healing is a corporate affair. Just like Galatians 6:2 says that we should carry each other’s burdens, so should the process of healing a broken heart be. Brothers and sisters in Christ should encourage, comfort and share in the tribulations of one another, as that’s the best way to help the brotherhood remain steadfast in faith.
Above everything, approach God in prayer. Turning to God in prayer gives a perspective; it instills hope in you and gives you inner strength, emotionally and spiritually. We all know what separates men from God is sin. So, if you want something from him, first shun your evil acts and surrender everything to Him. If you do that, you can be sure that “He will not leave you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Born with a Broken Heart In the final hour – the guilty pays When you fight fire with fire End up with ashes Walk with me – straight through the fire I’ve been torn apart Fake friends – like shadows Are always near you An outlaw’s heart back from trouble I’m chasing the demons in me Walk with me – straight through the fire I’ve been torn apart I’ve been locked out of Heaven For a long long time Walk with me – straight through the fire I’ve been torn apart |
