Well wishes and a speedy recovery to Avril Lavigne.
In a Twitter exchange with fan account @AvrilMusicChart over the weekend, the pop singer revealed that she has been absent from music because of health issues.
“I feel bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them (know) why I have been absent. I’m torn as I’m quite private,” Lavigne said, in a conversation shared on the @AvrilMusicChart account Tuesday. “I’m not feeling well. I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers.”
Fans adopted the hashtags #GetWellSoonAvril and #PrayForAvril on Twitter, which Lavigne thanked them for Sunday:
Billboard associate editor Jason Lipshutz reached out to Lavigne’s rep Tuesday for comment, tweeting:
Lavigne married Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger last summer and released her self-titled fifth album last November. She last played live in August, during a string of shows in Japan, according to her Facebook page.

The Canadian pop star worried her fans over the weekend when she revealed in a conversation with fan account @AvrilMusicChart that she’s been absent from the public eye recently due to “health issues.”
“I feel bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I have been absent,” Avril wrote. “I’m torn as I’m quite private. I’m not feeling well. I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers.”

After the hashtags #GetWellSoonAvril and #PrayForAvril appeared on Twitter, Avril thanked her fans Sunday.
Although some fans assumed that the 30-year-old “Complicated” singer was having pregnancy problems — Avril married Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger last July — her rep quickly shut down those rumors.
“The health issue could not be specified but it was confirmed that Lavigne is not pregnant, as some have speculated,” Billboard reports, also confirming the validity of the DM exchange posted by @AvrilMusicChart.
Though according to Billboard associate editor Jason Lipshutz, her rep also sounded “very concerned.”

Avril was last spotted in September, celebrating her 30th birthday in Las Vegas with close friends amid rumors that her marriage to Chad was on the rocks.
“There’s jealousy on both sides,” E! News reported. “She flirts, he flirts. She’s very insecure to begin with.”
