In our struggle against evil, we are dealing with spiritual powers. Therefore, we must put on the whole armor of God and stand against the attacks of the wicked one. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” (II Corinthians 10:4).
One powerful weapon that every Christian parent has is the ability to pray a daily hedge of protection around each of his or her children.
Job experienced this protection, and Satan complained about its effectiveness against him: “Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?” (Job 1:10).
There are three parts to a prayer for a hedge of protection:
- Ask God to bind and rebuke the power of Satan in the life of each one in your family. Be mighty through God to pull down strongholds. “No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man”(Mark 3:27).
- Pray in the name and through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. “Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13). Christ’s name is Protector, the Good Shepherd that gives His life for His sheep.
- Claim the Scripture that relates to the kind of protection that is needed. For example, for protection from sin, you can claim a verse such as Romans 6:14, “For sin shall not have dominion over you”. For protection from discouragement, you could claim the promise “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5).
Sample Prayer
“Heavenly Father, I ask You in the name and through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ to bind and rebuke Satan and to put a hedge of protection around me and each one in my family. ‘Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in … will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ’ (Philippians 1:6). In the name of Jesus Christ our Shepherd, Amen.”

A child is a great blessing and gift from our almighty. All that parents want for their kids is success in their lives. This means that we should pray for our children’s protection from worldly evils and challenges such as sickness and immature death.
Keep in mind that God answers prayers that you make with faith.

Most parents forget that that praying for children is a very important thing to do. You love your children and they are the reason why you work hard to sustain both their basic and secondary needs. Pray for your children because they are a blessing that you should be thankful for to your God.
Prayer for children’s Safety
Here is a prayer for your children’s protection from enemies. You should not take the prayer lightly because there is power in prayers. When you pray remember you are communicating to your God deep in your hearts. Have faith that God answers.

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the gift of children. We are aware that it is all because of your kindness and generosity onto us and we will forever glorify you name. We put our children, your gifts, to your able hands. We know you are God of love and you will protect them from all dangers. Satan you are a liar and there is no harm or evil from you shall prosper because they are surrounded by the blood of Jesus.
Thank you God for protecting them all the days of their lives. We also humbly ask you almighty to continue protecting them. Your word says that whatever we declare with our mouths, you shall answer. May they have a great future, may they succeed in whatever they lay their hands on, no immature deaths, no sicknesses and may they grow to fear you, and serve you for the rest of their lives and may your will be done into their lives Lord.
God onto your hands we place those children on the streets with nobody to look after them. Lord we know that you are their mother and father and you will take care of them. Amen.

Children are a gift – an amazing blessing from God.
Every single day we may find ourselves doing a lot for our kids, loving and caring for them, nurturing, teaching, training, helping, leading, equipping, encouraging, protecting, and so much more.
We spend precious hours just living out life, helping with homework, and driving them to activities. We spend money on sports, lessons, and various classes to help them grow and become all they can be, providing opportunities for them to do what they most love in this world.
But in the midst of busy, full lives, we have to ask ourselves: Are we praying?
I mean, really praying specific, powerful, promise-filled, hope-inspired prayers. Are we praying God’s powerful Word and promises over their lives?

I’m freshly aware, and challenged to pray more.
There’s a battle over our families today, and the enemy would love nothing more than to destroy all that we hold dear in this life. He’s ruthless and cunning, deceitful and sly. He’ll attack when we’re not watching, he’ll do everything he can to lure our kids his way.
Don’t let him win.
Prayer is essential over our children and families, in order to stay alert, aware, and discerning of God’s voice, as well as to stand against the attacks of the enemy in our lives. We should never underestimate the importance of speaking blessing and truth over their lives. Prayer is powerful and his words are true.

Dear God,
We praise you for your love and faithfulness. We thank you for your protection and care over our families. Thank you that you give us the power to love well; the wisdom to lead and teach our children. We know you’re for us; that you fight for our families today. You are Redeemer, Restorer, and Friend, we believe you have good in store. We confess, some days, parenting is tough. Many days we can feel anxious or overwhelmed. We ask that you would make us more like you, more aware of your constant Presence in our lives. Help us to release our children to You, so that You are free to fully accomplish all that You desire, in them, through them. Please fill our families with your truth and cover us with your favor.
Lord, we pray for these blessings over our children, today, and every day…
