- Pray that their hope will be in God and not man.
- Pray that they, as people of God, may be thoroughly equipped for every good work and be prepared in season and out of season.

One of the most difficult things for college students to learn is time management. Success in college requires goal setting and time management. Heavenly Father I pray that you will give me the guidance that I need to have fun while still maintaining a schedule of proper study and needed rest. Dear God, I so enjoy my independence while away at college. As I plan a trip home for a visit please help me to honor my parents as I obey the house rules that they have. Dear Precious Father, as I learn to live independently outside of the boundaries that were set for me at home, please help me to make good choices that will keep my thoughts, words and deeds pure. I want to honor You with my choices. As I choose how I spend my time remind me that You are always with me and that my choices should be things that please You. Help me to stay away from the things that will temp me to do the things that I know are not edifying to You. Remind me that it is my choice and that I can talk to You any time that I am having troubling making good choices. Keep me in the company of others that have a good walk with You so that I too can have a good walk. I know you will guide me and for this I am so thankful. I know Your wisdom is pure, help me to desire only Your wisdom. I pray this through Jesus, Amen.

The week each college student has dreaded but has hoped to soon see is finally here: FINALS WEEK! By this point in the semester students are delirious from constant stress, late night studying, and a lack of sleep. Anticipation for the holiday break is greater now than ever. Here is a small prayer to help get you through one of the most stressful and difficult times of your college semester:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for allowing another successful semester to come to an end. As final exams week begins, give us all as college students a stable mind so that we may perform on each exam to the best of our ability. Help us to study with dedication and consistency. Let us sleep peacefully at night, so that we are refreshed for each upcoming exam. Continue to guide us during times of trial and tribulation.
After all test taking is done, help us to realize that we have performed our best on each exam. Let us be pleased with the work we have done, but allow us to see areas where academic improvement may be needed. Keep all students and faculty and staff members from all hurt, harm, and danger during the holiday break so that each of us may be able to return for a new semester more refreshed than ever. Prayer for College Students
Let me tell you the story behind this prayer for college students.
So, it’s been five weeks of being a student again and I’m still here! *whew* Almost every time I talk to one of my supervisors, they say something along the lines of “Glad to see you’re still smiling” and while I’m glad about that too, I have to tell y’all, it wasn’t easy. My first couple of weeks were so overwhelming. My goodness. I haven’t been a student in two years and the transition was a struggle. I was having a hard time keeping up with my readings and managing my time. I felt like I was being chased by my work and I couldn’t outrun it fast enough.
Somewhere around my third week, I got a better handle on things and I’m grateful to God for that. Because the thing is, it’s not going to get any less busy! Y’all should see my schedule. I keep telling myself I love it because I’d rather be busy than idle. However, I also know there’s no way I would make it without Almighty. Which is what led me to write this prayer for college students. From talking to my cohort members alone, I know we’re all feeling like there aren’t enough hours in the day, and I’m sure there are more students like that out there. So if that’s you, this prayer is for you also. God wouldn’t put us in a situation He doesn’t have under control, even if we can’t see that.

Heavenly Father,
Sometimes, life as a student gets stressful and when my workload threatens to overwhelm me, I start to get caught up in trying to stay afloat and in the process forget to set apart time with you. Then I remember that your Son charged us to see first your kingdom and righteousness and all other things will be added on to us. I know that if not for you, I will not be here and that you will not place any obstacles in my path that are beyond what I can bear. So whenever I am faced with challenges, I understand that there is always a way out and that way is usually through you. Father, I acknowledge you in all my ways and trust that you are with me every step of the way. I pray that I will find favor on campus with my teachers and colleagues. I ask for your wisdom, knowledge and understanding as I go through this journey. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
