Prayer for a healthy pregnancy

Scriptural prayer for safe delivery and a healthy pregnancy

Loving  Heavenly Father, creator  of all things, Your Word says “1You created all things through Jesus Christ and 2You made all things good and perfect.” 3You give life to all things. I thank You, that I have conceived by Your grace and mercy. The baby in my womb is Your creation,  thank You for Your precious gift.

Cover me, the baby in my womb and my family members with the holy and precious blood of Jesus. I forgive all who have hurt me and rejected me in any manner.

Protect me, my baby and my family members from all evil and dangers. 4 You are our refuge and our fortress. 5 For You, Lord, will give Your angels charge over us. My God, in You I put my trust. During this time of waiting, help me to guard this new life carefully and do nothing to hurt it in any way.

Lord, Your word also says, 6 “Truly You have formed my innermost being. You have woven me in my mother’s womb. “According to Your Word, let my baby grow normally with all its requirements fulfilled. Take away all complications from my baby and me. Grant me and my baby good health. 7 Lord, let my baby be perfect as You are perfect.

Lord Jesus, You be present with me during all this time this baby grows and comes into this world. Lord Your Word says “8 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I sanctified you. Please grant me a safe and normal delivery. Take away all blocks and barriers that are hindering this blessing in my life. Lord I also pray that You lead all pregnant women who are reading this prayer to safe and normal delivery. All this I ask in the name of Jesus, who is Lord of Life, now and forever. Amen.

9 Shall I bring to the time of birth and not cause delivery?” says the LORD. “Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb? says Your God.

Prayer for a Woman in Labour at Childbirth

O Lord God Almighty, Creator of all things and Giver of knowledge to mankind; Who fashioned the body of man from the earth and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, granting him Your blessings, that he might increase and multiply by means of the birth of children: We fervently entreat You Who loves mankind to bless this Your servant, N., who is with child, granting her help and comfort at this trying time. Ease her labour and bring her to a safe delivery. Yes, O Lord, open the treasury of Your mercies and Your compassion to her, and let her give birth to a fruitful vine to be a cause of joy to her all the days of her life. For You are blessed, together with Your Only-begotten Son, and Your Most-holy, Good and Life-creating Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

I have been trying to conceive children of my own for 5 years. Five years ago I sought assistance from a fertility specialist with no success. I had to hold off for over a year getting pregnant due to a health issue that would cause birth defects because of the medication.

I have been blessed to overcome the health issue and had number of tests ran to make sure it was ok for me to try again. Doctors said ok and now my appointment for IVF consultation is next week. My prayer is to conceive this year. I believe in my heart I am suppose to be a mother. God has brought me through so much, I know He will bring me through this.

I am believing for a healthy pregnancy, healthy babies, my health, and many more! In Jesus Name Amen!!!

9 Prayers for a Healthy Pregnancy

By Elicia Brown

In my fourth month of pregnancy, my stomach suddenly began to rhythmically convulse in a manner I imagined could only precede labor. I panicked. I called my doctor, my husband, my mother. I was only able to sleep that night, however, after I whispered the words from a tattered sheet a friend had given me, the translation of a Yiddish pregnancy prayer.

Following are a few of my favorite prayers for a healthy pregnancy culled from sources modern and centuries-old–nine in all, one for each month of gestation.

prayer for a healthy pregnancy

“Dear Heavenly Father,

I want to thank you for this amazing miracle of life growing in my belly.  I thank you for the honor of brining ______________ into our lives.

Any day now, I will get to see his/her voice and get to look into the eyes of the greatest wonder of my life.

Although the anticipation is exciting, I am scared at the same time.  While I deliver this child will you hold my hand?  Will you make your presence known and numb down the pain so I can truly enjoy the experience?

I know that is a lot to ask, and if you choose to let me feel pain, I will not hold that against you or doubt you exist.  I will understand that it is normal and natural to feel uncomfortable during child bearing.

If you could just give me peace of mind, calm my fears and bless this child with perfect health.

I will dedicate him/her in your honor.  I pray that he/she will know you, and love you just like I do.

Thank you for this great joy in my heart.  Help me be a good mommy to ________________.  Bless me with the wisdom to lead him/her in your ways so that he can avoid a lot of painful mistakes.

Let the sins of my past and my husband’s past not be passed down to this generation.  ____________________ will start life with a fresh slate.  He/She will not inherit my mistakes, failures and sins.

To God be the glory for my little miracle. In Jesus’ precious name, for the love of this child, Amen.”
