Novena for emotional healing

Whenever we are anxious, worried, restless or discouraged, let us turn our hearts to our Lord Jesus Christ and his Blessed Mother. Let us ask our Heavenly Mother’s intercession for peace and happiness.

Holy Mary, loving mother and heavenly guide, be present to me now and let me know your compassion and kindness. Pray for me to your Divine Son, that I may experience calmness, tranquility and peace in all my emotions.

Help me to grow in faith and love. Protect me from all that displeases God, and obtain for me serenity of mind, body and spirit.

I place my trust and confidence in you, dear Blessed mother, and I pray that God’s blessings of mercy, grace and gentle goodness will bring happiness to my life, now and always. Amen.

If you are suffering from physical, spiritual, or emotional pain than look to Him for your healing. God works through you to give hope and faith to others that may be suffering in the same condition. Here are some good novena prayers for healing that will help quicken your recovery.

Prayer #1

God, like a watchful Shepherd, You care for us. You make the earth yield healing herbs and medicines and give us the knowledge to learn their power. Your creative love continues through the healing hands of doctors, pharmacists, and nurses, and the healing counsel of priests, ministers, and friends.

Bless me, and all who suffer. Our afflictions become a cross that burdens us with fear and uncertainty. Cast out our fear and revive our faith. Give us strength that we may be filled with hope. Let the Holy Spirit come to our aid that we might live each day in the joy for which You fashioned us.
I pray for healing in body, soul, and spirit that I may be Your servant in this world and enjoy the fullness of Your Presence in the life to come. I make this prayer humbly, knowing I cannot restrict or direct Your saving grace. I give joyful thanks for Your compassion wherever I may find it.
I ask all this in the Name of the Lord Jesus Who intercedes before You on my behalf. Amen.

Prayer #2

To Christ the Great Physician
We know that there is one physician:
Both flesh and spirit
uncreated, yet born
God in man
True life in death
From both Mary and From God
Subject to suffering and then impassible
Jesus Christ our Lord!

We ask O Great Physician, for spiritual, physical, and emotional healing, especially my intention of ______.
You of both flesh and spirit
May we spend all of our days in your healing presence
You the eternal Son born for us
Grant us the healing benefits of your Incarnation, Death, and Resurrection
You who are true God and true man

Grant us your true life in the midst of death
You, the true life in death
Grant us to follow your example and that of your Blessed Mother
You, from both Mary and from God
May our suffering be for our growth; free us, we pray, from that which we cannot bear
We ask You, O God the Word who became man to suffer

We ask you to grant us this healing if it brings us closer to you,
Jesus Christ our Lord!

Prayer #3

O Mary Immaculate, Our Lady of Lourdes, virgin and mother, queen of heaven, chosen from all eternity to be the Mother of the Eternal Word and in virtue of this title preserved from original sin, we kneel before you as did little Bernadette at Lourdes and pray with childlike trust in you that as we contemplate your glorious appearance at Lourdes, you will look with mercy on our present petition and secure for us a favorable answer to the request for which we are making this novena.

(make your request)

O Brilliant star of purity, Mary Immaculate, Our Lady of Lourdes, glorious in your assumption, triumphant in your coronation, show unto us the mercy of the Mother of God, Virgin Mary, Queen and Mother, be our comfort, hope, strength, and consolation. Amen.

Prayer #4

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted,
have pity on us miserable sinners
and grant us the grace which we ask of you,
through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary,
your tender Mother and ours.

(Recite the following prayers…)

Hail, Holy Queen…

St. Joseph,
foster father of Jesus,
pray for us.

Prayer #5

O my Jesus, you have said:
“Truly I say to you,
ask and you will receive,
seek and you will find,
knock and it will be opened to you.”
Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of…

(State your intention here.)

(Recite the following prayers…)

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory Be to the Father…

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I place all my trust in you.

Prayer #6

Gracious God, thank you for touching our life during this time of illness and pain and for deepening within us our understanding of your truth.

You have opened our eyes so that we can see the signs of your presence and healing. You have provided us with tie to reflect upon ourselves, our past, our value, our problems and our goals.

Somehow a lot of things that, until yesterday, seemed to be important appear insignificant today, and we have learned to truly appreciate the single blessings of life. Now that we can see the horizon again we feel ready for a new start and for a new day.

Thank you, O Lord, for all the people you have sent to touch our lives. Who, through their words and gestures, have deepened our faith in you and restored serenity to us. And we ask this all in the name of Your Son who lives and reigns with you always. Amen.
