Despite the advanced technology and modern treatment plans, we, as nurses, should still value the proven benefits of prayers in healing our patients. We should take care of their faith and spiritual health as much as we care for their physical and mental needs.

Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and forever! In Mark 16:17-18 (NLT), Jesus said, “These signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them.” Therefore, as believers, let us do what Jesus did!
Scriptural Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we proclaim Your righteousness and praise all the day long. Your faithful love endures forever and Your mercies never cease. Great is Your faithfulness. Who can compare to You? We exalt Your Holy and Righteous Name. You are the Holy One of Israel who sent Jesus, our Lord and Savior, to redeem all mankind from the curse of the law of sin and death. Holy Spirit, please reveal the cure for cancer. We ask You to increase the wisdom and knowledge of medical researchers as they perform cancer studies. We ask You to strengthen those persons who are being treated for cancer. Increase their endurance and patience as they undergo x-rays, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, biological therapy, hormone therapy, surgery, cryosurgery and other procedures. Holy Spirit, comfort and strengthen their family members. Help their family members to walk in love, peace, patience and faith. Please protect those who have not been touched by cancer. Destroy any triggers that would create cancerous cells in our bodies. Lord, help us to break poor eating and sleeping habits. Remind us to exercise, eat healthy and get enough sleep.
Father, we ask You to forgive the sins of those diagnosed with cancer. Forgive us all for unhealthy lifestyles and habits. Forgive us for not being good stewards of neither our bodies nor our children’s. Forgive us for holding grudges, unforgiveness, resentment, and embedded anger. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed.) Holy Spirit, remind those who have been diagnosed with cancer to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Our Father, help all of us to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

It Is Finished
Lord,
It feels like I’m dying inside. My husband, he’s gone. Lord, I will never understand this. We are so young; he was only 32 and our children are heartbroken. Lord, I am lost. I have no idea how to handle life now. I miss him so much. I miss holding his hand. I miss his laugh and his embrace. I miss seeing him throw our 2 year old up in the air. I just got the news about grandma. Lord, I don’t know what Your plan is for her, but I am certain that she will have a room in Your house in Heaven. I don’t know what to pray. I love her. My selfish side wants her to live, but she is very old. Her pain is great, Lord. I pray that You would end her pain, Father, whether it be through healing her or meeting her in Heaven. I Will Praise You In This Storm
Dear Lord,
I am caught in a whirlwind of emotions. I never thought I would get cancer. Satan wants to suck the joy right out of me and right now he has for the moment. I am so discouraged. Lord, I trust in You no matter what happens and I need You to walk with me through this!
