Dear God,
We thank you for the gift of life.
We thank you for our own life and for the gift of our children.
We thank you for the miracle of birth, whether we carried a child in our wombs or a child was carried to us to call our own.
We thank you for this precious gift.
We thank you for the gift of instincts to care for our children with the gentleness of a lamb and to protect them with the ferocity of a lion.
We thank you for our mothers who provided us with the love and values we needed.
God, if we lacked love and support, help us to know, without a shadow of a doubt, that we are completely loved by you. Even though we call you Father, we know you brought us into this world and that you love and care for us like a Mother.
Take away our disappointments and help us learn to be the best mothers and people we can be.
Help us to use every experience, whether good or bad to grow with love and compassion.
Help us to rest in your loving care and to take care of ourselves so that we can take care of others.
Fill us with joy and not sorrow when it is time for us to let our children go.
Help us to know that the gift that was given to us was meant to be shared.
Help us to cope with loss.
Give us strength to carry on.
Be with every mother and help her to experience wisdom, peace, love and joy and to share these blessings not only with her children, but with everyone she meets.
