A prayer for mama

My dear sweet heavenly father I come to you today,
with faith and hope I ask, send an angel Mama’s way.
I know her time is near and soon you’ll take her home,
to stroll across the streets of gold where other angels roam.
It’s hard to watch her suffer and slowly fade away,
help me God to understand, give me strength I pray.
She means so much to all of us, forgive me for my fears,
life will never be the same without her presence here.
My mother is my angel, she taught me how to love,
and told me about you lord and heaven up above.
When she crosses over and steps into the light,
tell her that I love her and when the time is right.
Meet me at the pearly gates where every thing’s brand new,
we’ll walk across God’s meadow lands where skies are always blue.
Somewhere beyond the sunset every now and then,
I pray she watches over me until we meet again.

A Prayer For Mama

My dear sweet heavenly father I come to you today,

with hope and faith I ask send an angel Mama’s way.

I know her time is near and soon you’ll take her home,

to stroll along the streets of gold where other angels roam.

It’s hard to watch her suffer and slowly fade away,

help us all to understand give us strength I pray.

She means so much to all of us forgive me for my fears,

life will never be the same without her presence here.

My mother is my angel she taught me how to love,

and told me about you Lord and heaven up above.

When she crosses over and steps into the light,

tell her that I love her and when the time is right.

Meet me at the pearly gates where everything’s brand new,

we’ll walk across God’s meadowlands where skies are always blue.

Somewhere beyond the sunset every now and then,

I pray she watches over me until we meet again.

Lord, there are a few things

I ask of you todayIll try by best to put into wordsall the things I want to say

There is a woman you gave to meto guide me through the yearsShe has smiled through my triumphsand consoled me through my tears

This woman is so selflessNever vain, nor mean, or greedyShe dedicated her entire lifeto take care of the sick and needy

Most don’t know about her childhoodor her somewhat lonely pastBut after meeting a blue-eyed manher life seemed to change so fast

Days became school, work and soccer, making dinner and getting kids to bedLord, please I ask you to forgive this womanfor throwing that pepper grinder at my head(I deserved it)

She was my biggest fan in soccerand to my side she would defendwhen Dad would scold of how many shots I missedShe’d reply, “Paul, it was the wind”

But the most amazing thing she did each and every daywas take care of strangers day and nightand come home to help Dad the same way

She had to be strong for him and for uswhen we all were falling apartWhile all along dealing with her own sadness,a tired and aching heart

Not many people can do what she didfor all of the years that she did itMany would run, grow bitter, or give uppack their bags and just say that they quit it

So Lord what I wanted to ask you today was to send her some extra good willMaybe a smile from the neighbor next dooror a break on the upcoming bills

You see this woman is speciala prayer for mama

she has never asked for much in return

She has always cared for somebody elseand I finally think its her turn

So when you send your angels down todayDo you think you can spare just a fewto carry the weight thats been on her shouldersand give her a break for a moment or two

And one last thing Lord before I goJust a thank you from one to anotherFor letting this special woman be in my lifethis amazingly wonderful mother.

Amen.
