Volunteer prayer

Each year, millions of people unite on the National Day of Prayer—at thousands of events around the country—to pray! While prayer is not a seasonal or annual thing, our nation pauses to observe a National Day of Prayer on the first Thursday every May. On this day, Christians have an opportunity to emphasize the importance of prayer as a testimony to who God is, what we believe, and the fact that our Nation was founded upon the truths of God’s Word, and much prayer!

Our network of volunteers, combined with our resources and online tools, will help guide you through the process of engaging your community in prayer! To learn more about becoming a volunteer, please follow the steps below.

Our goal is to see communities transformed across America through the power of prayer and that happens one family at a time. Lives are being changed and we pray in expectation believing that God can and will make a difference if we seek Him (II Chronicles 7:14). We also know that organizing prayer is not always easy so we are not expecting you to fill stadiums with people. The Scriptures tell us that where two or more are gathered, there He is in their midst (Matthew 18:20). So, start simple and enjoy the journey. Organizing prayer is exciting and we are delighted you have joined us in this ministry to our nation.

Together we can make a difference!

There are opportunities for church groups or for individuals.

Participate in The Upper Room’s The Living Prayer Center by becoming a Prayer Partner. The prayer center offers a way for small groups, church leaders and individuals to be a part of prayer fellowship beyond their local communities.

Prayer Partners are individuals or small groups of people (Covenant Prayer Groups) who receive the prayer requests from people all over the world and spend time lifting those concerns in prayer. Prayer requests are forwarded from the prayer center once a week for extended prayer.

Our Online Prayer Wall We launched a new feature on our webpage, the Prayer Wall, where people can share their needs, praises, and concerns with others online. You can visit our wall at our Prayer Wall.

The idea behind this project is to create an online prayer community that enables more people to pray for each other. This is simply a new tool to do what The Prayer Center has always done. Join this global community of prayer. Pray for—and respond to—the requests you see. We invite you to request prayer for yourself or a loved one . . . or even someone you do not know.

To become a Prayer Partner, all you need is a vital Christian experience, a willingness to open your heart to those in need, and a desire to grow in your own prayer life.

Submit an application for the role to which you are called. Our prayer center staff will respond to your application and supply you with training for your role.

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. GALATIANS 6:2

Prayer United depends on a huge volunteer base to sustain both it’s day to day functions and our growth. Everyone from the CEO to our Developers to our Executive Assistants work with us on a voluntary basis. Prayer United is committed to continue seeking for bright and hardworking volunteers in our team and retain them, till we are shown by God that it is his will to have a full time staff in our team. Even then we see that God’s plan for us involves continuing to maintain a steady, growing and encouraged team of volunteers who would be integral part of our efforts.

We seek for Godly, committed and faithful volunteers who wish to use their secular skills and talents to serve the service of our Lord through Prayer United. Prayer United wishes to find in their volunteers a great commitment to Christ’s gospels and its spread across the world. Since that is exactly what we plan to do with our God given resources and opportunities.

If you wish to be a volunteer with Prayer United you should certainly understand what our affirmation of faith is, you may read the same from this link. (Source: Desiring God  www.desiringgod.org)

You get to pray anytime, anywhere and for as long as you feel led.
