Spiritual warfare prayer against strongholds

This prayer should be repeated as many times a day as possible whilst you are fasting. You should ideally do at least three day’s fast with one or two day’s fast being a dry fast (without any water), and then on the fourth day and several other days drink juice only.

That’s because one day’s fast is usually not enough to remove demonic strongholds, and at least three days are required for that cleansing process to take place.

During these days you should pray to God and read this prayer, and also the money that you would have spent on food, you should donate it to those who are poor, or buy them a meal, as well as some cover if you see a person who is inadequately clothed, and if it’s within your means, you should in the days of fasting pay for someone’s rent or even invite a poor person to stay with you.

How to properly fast in a biblical way

This advice doesn’t come from my own mind but from the Word of God. Read the whole chapter of Isaiah 58 to understand what God considers a fast to be. A fast should not only be about you not eating, but also about being kind to others, and in those days you should give food, shelter and clothes to those who are poor. I found that if you donate money to meet those requirements you will get a blessing from God also.

God says that when you do these things, God will indeed answer your prayers, whether you want to be delivered from demonic strongholds, make cancer disappear or if you pray for any other blessing in your life. God promises that He will answer when you fast in such a way, so this is a spiritual law.

So to summarize, if you want your fast to be effective, you must:

  • On those days be kind to others.
  • Give food, shelter and clothing to the poor (I found the money equivalent to be okay too).
  • Then call on the name of the Lord with your request and He promises to answer you.

The blessings that God promises for your proper fasting

Even without any request of your own, God promises the following blessings to you by default if you only adhere to this law of fasting. And these blessings are:

  1. Your light will break forth as the morning.
  2. Your health will grow speedily.
  3. The Lord will hear your prayers.
  4. Your light will rise in darkness, and your darkness will be as a noon-day.
  5. God will guide you continually!
  6. He will satisfy your soul in tough times!
  7. He will provide for you (make your bones fat).
  8. You will be like a watered garden whose waters do not fail.

(Isaiah 58:8-11)

And the blessings don’t end here! God also promises some blessings that might be a little hard to decipher. Those mysterious words are found in Isaiah 58:12 (right after the mentioned blessings) and I believe they can be translated this way:

And they that come from you will (re)build the everlasting desolations, and you will establish the foundations of many generations, and you will be called the restorer of the wall crack, the footpath to dwell in.

So as you see, your proper fasting gives you blessings that will even be transferred to your future generations and you will be the one who establishes this pattern for your future generations to follow!

Warfare prayer (based on Bible) to destroy demonic strongholds

Once this is out of the way, here is the warfare prayer based entirely on Scripture. Its purpose is to remind God of His promises because He Himself tells us to remind Him of them in Isaiah 43:26. So the purpose of this prayer is to remind God of His particular promises of delivering us from the enemy, and to affirm that we are in agreement with those promises.

When you come into the agreement with God, then God can work in your life to bless it. If you don’t have this agreement, He cannot do that. So in this prayer we will not only remind God of His promises of deliverance from the enemy, but also the fact that we are in complete agreement with it, so that nothing hinders us from God fighting for us and delivering us from those demons.

Also, you must make sure that you don’t have any contrary agreements that demons made with you which would surely block the blessing of God, and this is already explained in this article. So if you have not already broken those agreements, you must do so before saying this prayer. Also, you must read this article because it tells of what will happen after you break demonic contracts and how to avoid being deceived by those demons so that you don’t get into agreement with them again.

So here is the prayer, and I advise you to print it out if you can. You can now pray with me by agreeing in your mind with what you will hear (if you play the above video), to see the power of the word of God in your life, as you will probably feel demons trembling in you or have any other sensation in your body, and maybe some demons even will leave now through you yawning or coughing.

And when you say this prayer yourself as often as you can during fasting, you must experience the demonic strongholds melting away and demons leaving you.

So here is the warfare prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus I approach your Heavenly Throne with a request to deliver me from demonic strongholds. I agree with your Word which says that I should not be afraid of my enemy because You Yourself will fight for me. (Deuteronomy 3:22)

You promise that I will chase a thousand, because it is You who fights for me (Joshua 23:10); and nobody can bring charge against Your elect, because it is You who justifies. (Romans 8:33)

It is told in Your word, Holy Father, that through You we will push back our adversaries and that through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us. I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But You will save me from my adversaries, and will shame those who hate me. (Psalm 44:5-7)

I believe in Your word which says that if I resist the devil, he will free from me. (James 4:7)

I believe that because I belong to You, my Heavenly Father, I have already overcome my enemies, because greater is the Holy Spirit that is in me than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

I understand that though I walk in the flesh, I do not wage war according to the flesh; I know that the weapons of my warfare are not physical but are mighty in You for tearing down strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of You. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

I believe in Your word which says that I will withstand the devil by being steadfast in my faith. (1 Peter 5:9)

I believe that no weapon that is formed against me will prosper and that I will condemn every tongue that rises up against me in judgement. I know that this is my heritage because I am Your servant and because it’s Your righteousness to have things this way. (Isaiah 54:17)

I am putting on Your whole armour to be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. I know that my wrestling is not physical but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

Therefore I put on Your whole armour, having the belt of truth around my hips, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted my feet with the preparation of the Good News of Peace; above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which I will be able to quench all the  fiery darts of the evil one. And I take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the spoken word of God, with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:13-18)

I remind you, my Father, that You have given me victory through Your Son Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57) and that Your Son has given us power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and that nothing by any means will hurt me. (Luke 10:19)

I know that You are watchful, and You strengthen me, and keep me from evil. (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

I know that the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy, but Your Son came so that we would have life, and have it abundantly. (John 10:10)

Jesus gave us power over our enemies, because whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven (Matthew 18:18), and You promised that whoever rises up against us will be defeated before us. They will come against us one way and flee from us seven ways. (Deuteronomy 28:7)

Your Son Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33), so I should not worry about enemies winning over me. He promised to build His church on the foundation of Him being Your Son, and He told that the gates of Sheol will not prevail against this foundational stone (Matthew 16:18).

Your Son was revealed to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) and You promise that those who put their trust in You will renew their strength, mount up with wings like eagles; they will run, and not be weary; they will walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

I agree that if You are for us, nobody can be against us, because You did not spare Your own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, therefore surely You will freely give us all the other lesser things. (Romans 8:31-32)

Nobody can condemn me, because Christ who died and was raised up from the dead is now at the right hand of You and is making intercession for me (Romans 8:34). I am strong and of good courage. I am not afraid, neither dismayed; because You, my Father, are with me wherever I go (Joshua 1:9).

Dear Father, You promise in Your word that I will strike my enemies through, so that they will not be able to rise. They shall fall under my feet, because You have given me strength to battle. You have subdued under me those who rise up against me. (Psalm 18: 38-39)

You have given me the necks of my enemies so that I might destroy those who hate me. They cried, but there was none to save; they even cried to You, but You did not answer them. Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind. I emptied them out like the dirt into the streets. (Psalm 18:40-42)

Dear Father, you promise that those who dwell in Your secret place will rest in your shadow. I call You “my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” I know that You will deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. (Psalm 91:1-3)

I believe that You will cover me with Your feathers. Under Your wings I will take refuge. Your faithfulness is a shield and a wall. I will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. (Psalm 91:4-6)

A thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand; but it will not come near me. I will only look with my eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked. Because I have made You my refuge, and my dwelling place, no evil will overtake me, no plague will come near my dwelling. (Psalm 91:7-10)

You will put Your angels in charge of me, to guard me in all my ways. In their hands they will lift me up, so that I will not strike my foot against a stone. (Psalm 91:11-12)

I will tread upon the lion and the viper. I will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot. Because I have set my love upon You, and therefore You will deliver me. You will set me on high, because I have known Your name. I will call on You, and You will answer me. You will be with me in trouble. You will deliver me and will satisfy me with long life and show me Your salvation, because I have set my love upon You. (Psalm 91: 13-16)

I’m not afraid of any number of enemies, because I know that the battle is not mine, but Yours, my Father (2 Chronicles 20:15). You will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for Your heavenly kingdom. (2 Timothy 4:18)

I will withstand the devil through my faith, and You, the God of all Grace, who called me to Your eternal kingdom in Christ, after I have suffered a little while, will Yourself restore, confirm, and strengthen and establish me. (1 Peter 5:10)

You will save the afflicted, but the haughty ones you will bring down, and you will light my candle, and enlighten my darkness. (Psalm 18:27-28)

Father, I am in complete agreement with your promises, and therefore I request You to fight this battle for me, and to remove all the demonic strongholds in my body and life.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the victor’s crown, the life God has promised to those who love him.” – James 1:12

Engaging in the Battle

We need tools in spiritual warfare as well. It has been the underlying purpose of this book to provide practical, usable information and insight into the waging of a winning warfare.

The world, the flesh, and the devil will be continuously defeated if we use the weapons of our warfare. The Lord has provided all the tools we need. The Lord Jesus Christ has provided all of our victory. He used the same tools He has provided us in winning the battle. His victory is our victory.

It remains our responsibility to use these weapons so graciously provided in His grace. Every time you use them you’ll thank God for the tools of victory He has provided. Just as I think with fond remembrance of the man who gave me the tool box when I use my carpenter’s tools, so your heart will reach out in an ever deepening gratitude to your Lord.

In previous chapters, importance of doctrinal truth and doctrinal praying was intended to be lifted high. Doctrine, God’s unchanging truth, is mighty in defeating our enemies. This truth must get deep into our souls. This can only come about as we gain understanding of the Holy Word of God and then use that Word aggressively in our lives.

With the permission and approval of Dr. Victor Matthews, professor of theology at the Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College and Seminary, I include here some very fine helps in keeping doctrinal truth in the forefront of your warfare.

“The Daily Affirmation of Faith” was written by Dr. Matthews to provide a concise, clear statement of the truth of the Word of God as it applies to our victory. I commend this affirmation for daily reading aloud on the part of those who are experiencing intense warfare. It will do much to build spiritual foundation into your soul. It will keep the ground of your victory aggressively in action against your enemies. Study the texts of Scripture for your own enlightenment and edification.

The Daily Affirmation of Faith

“Today I deliberately choose to submit myself fully to God as He has made Himself known to me through the Holy Scripture which I honestly accept as the only inspired, infallible, authoritative standard for all life and practice. In this day I will not judge God, His work, myself, or others on the basis of feelings or circumstances.

  1. I recognize by faith that the triune God is worthy of all honor, praise, and worship as the Creator, Sustainer, and End of all things. I confess that God, as my Creator, made me for Himself. In this day I therefore choose to live for Him (Rev 5:9,10; Is 43:1,7,21; Rev 4:11).
  2. I recognize by faith that God loved me and chose me in Jesus Christ before time began (Eph 1:1-7).
  3. I recognize by faith that God has proven His love to me in sending His Son to die in my place, in whom every provision has already been made for my past, present, and future needs through His representative work, and that I have been quickened, raised, seated with Jesus Christ in the heavenlies, and anointed with the Holy Spirit (Ro 5:6-11; 8:28; Phil 1:6; 4:6,7,13,19; Eph 1:3; 2:5,6; Ac 2:1-4,33).
  4. I recognize by faith that God has accepted me, since I have received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior (Jn 1:12; Eph 1:6); that He has forgiven me (Eph 1:7); adopted me into His family, assuming every responsibility for me (Jn 17:11,17; Eph 1:5; Phil 1:6); given me eternal life (Jn 3:36; I Jn 5:9-13); applied the perfect righteousness of Christ to me so that I am now justified (Ro 5:1; 8:3,4; 10:4); made me complete in Christ (Col 2:10); and offers Himself to me as my daily sufficiency through prayer and the decisions of faith (I Co 1:30; Col 1:27; Gal 2:20; Jn 14:13,14; Mt 21:22; Ro 6:1-19; Heb 4:1-3,11).
  5. I recognize by faith that the Holy Spirit has baptized me into the Body of Christ (I Co 12:13); sealed me (Eph 1:13,14); anointed me for life and service (Ac 1:8; Jn 7:37-39); seeks to lead me into a deeper walk with Jesus Christ (Jn 14:16-18; 15:26,27; 16:13-15; Ro 8:11-16); and to fill my life with Himself (Eph 5:18).
  6. I recognize by faith that only God can deal with sin and only God can produce holiness of life. I confess that in my salvation my part was only to receive Him and that He dealt with my sin and saved me. Now I confess that in order to live a holy life, I can only surrender to His will and receive Him as my sanctification; trusting Him to do whatever may be necessary in my life, without and within, so I may be enabled to live today in purity, freedom, rest and power for His glory (Jn 1:12; I Co 1:30; II Co 9:8; Gal 2:20; Heb 4:9; I Jn 5:4; Jude 24).

Having confessed that God is worthy of all praise, that the Scriptures are the only authoritative standard, that only God can deal with sin and produce holiness of life, I again recognize my total dependence upon Him and submission to Him. I accept the truth that praying in faith is absolutely necessary for the realization of the will and grace of God in my daily life.

Recognizing that faith is a total response to God by which the daily provisions the Lord has furnished in Himself are appropriated, I therefore make the following decisions of faith:

  1. For this day (Heb 3:6,13,15; 4:7) I make the decision of faith to surrender wholly to the authority of God as He has revealed Himself in the Scripture to obey Him. I confess my sin, face the sinful reality of my old nature, and deliberately choose to walk in the light, in step with Christ, throughout the hours of this day (Ro 6:16-20; Phil 2:12,13; I Jn 1:7,9).
  2. For this day I make the decision of faith to surrender wholly to the authority of God as revealed in the Scripture–to believe Him. I accept only His Word as final authority. I now believe that since I have confessed my sin He has forgiven and cleansed me (I Jn 1:9). I accept at full value His Word of promise to be my sufficiency and rest, and will conduct myself accordingly (Ex 33:1; I Co 1:30; II Co 9:8; Phil 4:19).
  3. For this day I make the decision of faith to recognize that God has made every provision so that I may fulfill His will and calling. Therefore, I will not make any excuse for my sin and failure (I Th 5:24).
  4. For this day I make the decision of faith deliberately to receive from God that provision which He has made for me. I renounce all self-effort to live the Christian life and to perform God’s service; renounce all sinful praying which asks God to change circumstances and people so that I may be more spiritual; renounce all drawing back from the work of the Holy Spirit within and the call of God without; and renounce all nonbiblical motives, goals, and activities which serve my sinful pride.

— I now sincerely receive Jesus Christ as my sanctification, particularly as my cleansing from the old nature, and ask the Holy Spirit to apply to me the work of Christ accomplished for me in the crucifixion. In cooperation with and dependence upon Him, I obey the command to “put off the old man” (Ro 6:1-14; I Co 1:30; Gal 6:14; Eph 4:22).

— I now sincerely receive Jesus Christ as my sanctification, particularly as my enablement moment by moment to live above sin, and ask the Holy Spirit to apply to me the work of the resurrection so that I may walk in newness of life. I confess that only God can deal with my sin and only God can produce holiness and the fruit of the Spirit in my life. In cooperation with and dependence upon Him, I obey the command to “put on the new man” (Ro 6:1-4; Eph 4:24).

— I now sincerely receive Jesus Christ as my deliverance from Satan and take my position with Him in the heavenlies, asking the Holy Spirit to apply to me the work of the ascension. In His Name I submit myself to God and stand against all of Satan’s influence and subtlety. In cooperation with and dependence upon God, I obey the command to “resist the devil” (Eph 1:20- 23; 2:5; 4:27; 6:10-18; Col 1:13; Ja 4:7; I Pe 3:22; 5:89).

— I now sincerely receive the Holy Spirit as my anointing for every aspect of life and service for today. I fully open my life to Him to fill me afresh in obedience to the command to “be filled with the Holy Spirit” (Eph 5:18; Jn 7:37-39; 14:16,17; 15:26,27; 16:7-15; Ac 1:8).

“Having made this confession and these decisions of faith, I now receive God’s promised rest for this day (Heb 4:1-13). Therefore, I relax in the trust of faith, knowing that in the moment of temptation, trial, or need, the Lord Himself will be there as my strength and sufficiency (I Co 10:13).”

The Warfare Prayer

Another doctrinal tool that has proved of great benefit to me and to many others is the “Warfare Prayer” composed by Dr. Matthews. As a theologian, his unique and thorough way of including sound doctrine in this prayer is most helpful. I would urge anyone facing obvious spiritual warfare to use this prayer daily. It is good to read it aloud as a prayer unto the Lord. Eventually one will be able to incorporate the doctrinal truths expressed into his own prayer life without reading it.

The devil hates this prayer. Usually before working with anyone who has deep demonic affliction, I will request that we read this prayer in unison. Many times the oppressed one can read only with great difficulty. Sometimes sight problems, voice problems, or mind confusion become so intense that the afflicted person can continue only with great effort.

It is the truth of God that Satan cannot resist, and he vigorously fights it being applied against him. Those serious about warfare should daily use a prayer of this type along with other prayer examples shared in this book.

THE WARFARE PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I bow in worship and praise before You. I cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ as my protection during this time of prayer. I surrender myself completely and unreservedly in every area of my life to Yourself. I do take a stand against all the workings of Satan that would hinder me in this time of prayer, and I address myself only to the true and living God and refuse any involvement of Satan in my prayer.

Heavenly Father, I worship You, and I give You praise. I recognize that You are worthy to receive all glory and honor and praise. I renew my allegiance to You and pray that the blessed Holy Spirit would enable me in this time of prayer.

I am thankful, heavenly Father, that You have loved me from past eternity, that You sent the Lord Jesus Christ into the world to die as my substitute that I would be redeemed. I am thankful that the Lord Jesus Christ came as my representative, and that through Him You have completely forgiven me; You have given me eternal life; You have given me the perfect righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ so I am now justified. I am thankful that in Him You have made me complete, and that You have offered Yourself to me to be my daily help and strength.

Heavenly Father, come and open my eyes that I might see how great You are and how complete Your provision is for this new day. I do, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, take my place with Christ in the heavenlies with all principalities and powers (powers of darkness and wicked spirits) under my feet.

I am thankful that the victory the Lord Jesus Christ won for me on the cross and in His resurrection has been given to me and that I am seated with the Lord Jesus Christ in the heavenlies; therefore, I declare that all principalities and powers and all wicked spirits are subject to me in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am thankful for the armor You have provided, and I put on the girdle of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the sandals of peace, the helmet of salvation. I lift up the shield of faith against all the fiery darts of the enemy, and take in my hand the sword of the spirit, the Word of God, and use Your Word against all the forces of evil in my life; and I put on this armor and live and pray in complete dependence upon You, blessed Holy Spirit.

I am grateful, heavenly Father, that the Lord Jesus Christ spoiled all principalities and powers and made a show of them openly and triumphed over them in Himself. I claim all that victory for my life today. I reject out of my life all the insinuations, the accusations, and the temptations of Satan.

I affirm that the Word of God is true, and I choose to live today in the light of God’s Word. I choose, heavenly Father, to live in obedience to You and in fellowship with Yourself. Open my eyes and show me the areas of my life that would not please You. Work in my life that there be no ground to give Satan a foothold against me.

Show me any area of weakness. Show me any area of my life that I must deal with so that I would please You. I do in every way today stand for You and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in my life.

By faith and in dependence upon You, I put off the old man and stand into all the victory of the crucifixion where the Lord Jesus Christ provided cleansing from the old nature. I put on the new man and stand into all the victory of the resurrection and the provision He has made for me there to live above sin.

Therefore, in this day, I put off the old nature with its selfishness, and I put on the new nature with its love. I put off the old nature with its fear and I put on the new nature with its courage. I put off the old nature with its weakness and I put on the new nature with its strength. I put off today the old nature with all its deceitful lusts and I put on the new nature with all its righteousness and purity.

I do in every way stand into the victory of the ascension and the glorification of the Son of God where all principalities and powers were made subject to Him, and I claim my place in Christ victorious with Him over all the enemies of my soul. Blessed Holy Spirit, I pray that You would fill me. Come into my life, break down every idol and cast out every foe.

I am thankful, heavenly Father, for the expression of Your will for my daily life as You have shown me in Your Word. I therefore claim all the will of God for today.

I am thankful that You have blessed me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. I am thankful that You have begotten me unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. I am thankful that You have made a provision so that today I can live filled with the Spirit of God with love and joy and self-control in my life. And I recognize that this is Your will for me, and I therefore reject and resist all the endeavors of Satan and of his demons to rob me of the will of God.

I refuse in this day to believe my feelings, and I hold up the shield of faith against all the accusations and against all the insinuations that Satan would put in my mind. I claim the fullness of the will of God for today.

I do, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, completely surrender myself to You, heavenly Father, as a living sacrifice. I choose not to be conformed to this world. I choose to be transformed by the renewing of my mind, and I pray that You would show me Your will and enable me to walk in all the fullness of the will of God today.

I am thankful, heavenly Father, that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, to the casting down of imaginations and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and to bring every thought into obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore in my own life today I tear down the strongholds of Satan, and I smash the plans of Satan that have been formed against me. I tear down the strongholds of Satan against my mind, and I surrender my mind to You, blessed Holy Spirit.

I affirm, heavenly Father, that You have not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I break and smash the strongholds of Satan formed against my emotions today, and I give my emotions to You. I smash the strongholds of Satan formed against my will today, and I give my will to You, and choose to make the right decisions of faith. I smash the strongholds of Satan formed against my body today, and I give my body to You, recognizing that I am Your temple; and I rejoice in Your mercy and Your goodness.

Heavenly Father, I pray that now through this day You would quicken me; show me the way that Satan is hindering and tempting and lying and counterfeiting and distorting the truth in my life. Enable me to be the kind of person that would please You. Enable me to be aggressive in prayer. Enable me to be aggressive mentally and to think Your thoughts after You, and to give You Your rightful place in my life.

Again, I now cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and pray that You, blessed Holy Spirit, would bring all the work of the crucifixion, all the work of the resurrection, all the work of the glorification, and all the work of Pentecost into my life today. I surrender myself to You.

I refuse to be discouraged. You are the God of all hope. You have proven Your power by resurrecting Jesus Christ from the dead, and I claim in every way Your victory over all satanic forces active in my life, and I reject these forces; and I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving. Amen.

Open my eyes and show me the areas of my life that do not please You. Work in me to cleanse me from all ground that would give satan a foothold against me. I do in every way stand into all that it means to be Your adopted child and I welcome all the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

By faith and in dependence upon You, I put off the fleshly works of the old man and stand into all the victory of the crucifixion where the Lord Jesus Christ provided cleansing from the old nature. I put on the new man and stand into all the victory of the resurrection and the provision He has made for me to live above sin.

Therefore, today I put off all forms of selfishness and put on the new nature with its love. I put off all forms of fear and put on the new nature with its courage. I put off all forms of weakness and put on the new nature with its strength. I put off all forms of lust and put on the new nature with its righteousness, purity, and honesty. I am trusting You to show me how to make this practical in my daily life.

In every way I stand into the victory of the ascension and glorification of the Lord Jesus Christ, whereby all the principalities and powers were made subject to Him. I claim my place in Christ as victorious with Him over all the enemies of my soul. Blessed Holy Spirit, I pray that You would fill me. Come into my life, break down every idol and cast out every foe.

I am thankful, Heavenly Father, for the expression of Your will for my daily life as You have shown me in Your Word.

I, therefore, claim all the will of God for today. I am thankful that You have blessed me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. I am thankful that You have begotten me unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. I am thankful that You have made a provision so that today I can live filled with the Spirit of God with love and joy and peace, with long-suffering, gentleness and goodness, with meekness, faithfulness and self-control in my life. I recognize that this is Your will for me and I therefore reject and resist all the endeavors of satan and his wicked spirits to rob me of the will of God. I refuse in this day to believe my feelings and I hold up the Shield of Faith against all the accusations and distortion and insinuations that satan would put into my mind. I claim the fullness of the will of God for my life today.

In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I completely surrender myself to You, Heavenly Father, as a living sacrifice. I choose not to be conformed to this world. I choose to be transformed by the renewing of my mind, and I pray that You would show me Your will and enable me to walk in all the fullness of Your will today.

I am thankful, Heavenly Father, that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, to the casting down of imagination and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and to bring every thought into obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, in my own life today I tear down the strongholds of satan and smash the plans of satan that have been formed against me. I tear down the strongholds of satan against my mind, and I surrender my mind to You, blessed Holy Spirit. I affirm, Heavenly Father, that You have not given me the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind. I break and smash the strongholds of satan formed against my emotions today and I give my emotions to you. I smash the strongholds of satan formed against my will today, I give my will to You and choose to make the right decisions of faith. I smash the strongholds of satan formed against my body today, I give my body to You recognizing that I am your temple. I rejoice in Your mercy and goodness.

Heavenly Father, I pray that now and through this day You would strengthen and enlighten me. Show me the way satan is hindering and tempting and lying and distorting the truth in my life. Enable me to be the kind of person that would please You. Enable me to be aggressive in prayer and faith. Enable me to be aggressive mentally, to think about and practice Your Word, and to give You Your rightful place in my life.

Again, I cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and pray that You, blessed Holy Spirit, would bring all the work of the crucifixion, all the work of the resurrection, all the work of the glorification, and all the work of Pentecost into my life today. I surrender myself to You. I refuse to be discouraged. You are the God of all hope. You have proven Your power by resurrecting Jesus Christ from the dead, and I claim in every way this victory over all the satanic forces in my life. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving.

Amen.

STRONGHOLDS>
What exactly is a stronghold?
A stronghold is an incorrect thinking pattern that has molded itself into our way of thinking. These strongholds have the capability to affect our feelings, how we respond to various situations in life, and they play a large role in our spiritual freedom.
Where do strongholds come from?
Strongholds are built upon deception and error. These errors and deceptions which form strongholds can come from a wide variety of sources, including our environment, those around us, our parents or even demon spirits. I have seen where people have picked up a demon, then the demon quickly builds one or more strongholds in their mind that must be later torn down.
Demonic bondage and strongholds
A person who has a demon behind their stronghold(s) may find it nearly impossible to tear them down and keep down. This is because the demon will be working hard at rebuilding and holding those strongholds in place. They will be countering that person’s efforts to tear them down. It will seem as if they are hitting a brick wall, and even if they seem to make progress, it seems like their efforts are in vain because it keeps coming back. If this is the case, then the person likely has a demon which is inside them rebuilding and trying to hold that stronghold in place. The demons should be driven out in Jesus’ name, then the stronghold will come down much easier and not be so quick to return.
How do you tear down strongholds?
Since strongholds are built upon error and falsehood, it is through the truth that you tear down such faulty thinking patterns. Strongholds are built when we accept and receive error and begin to meditate on them. It forms in our minds what is known as an imagination, that is, a false concept that we believe to be true, but in reality is not. The Bible speaks about these imaginations clearly, and shows us how they can be torn down:
2 Corinthians 10:4, “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
The renewing of our minds and strongholds
We know that strongholds and imaginations must be cast down, but how? By being transformed through the renewing of our minds:
Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
As our minds are renewed, we may prove (discern) what is good, acceptable and perfect, and the will of God. These things are some of the very things that strongholds rise themselves against! Many people who are caught up in shame based thinking do not realize that it’s God’s will and it is good for them to disassociate themselves from their past. Their minds need to be renewed, and as those strongholds come down they will be able to see God’s will and respond.
How are our minds renewed and cleansed? Through the washing of the Word our minds are transformed and strongholds are torn down. Spending time and meditating on the Word of God washes our minds and corrects our false thinking patters (strongholds).
Ephesians 5:26-27, “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
As we meditate and wash our minds with God’s Word, we will be transformed by the renewing of our minds, and we will come to know the will of God, and discern what is right, perfect and good. Our strongholds, which are based upon error and deception will not stand a chance as the light of God’s Word (truth) is shed upon those areas of our minds.
Spiritual warfare and strongholds
I think too many people make strongholds out to be a complex subject. Strongholds are merely incorrect thinking patterns. They are patterns in our minds that are programmed to think contrary to the truth.
For example, a common scenario is where a person feels dirty, guilty and is shameful of their past. They are so used to thinking about their past, that it’s driven the person to think and feel like a failure! They feel unworthy to have a close intimate relationship with God, which greatly affects their spiritual strength, faith, and relationship with Him. No wonder Satan tries to build such strongholds in our minds!
So how does Satan build these strongholds?
He starts by reminding us of our past failures and sins. He brings up things that we ought not to be dwelling upon, and tries to make us agree with him on how badly we failed. We then have the choice to listen and agree with him, or listen to God’s Word (which is telling us that those sins have been washed away). If we take the devil’s bait and begin to mediate on our failures, it will begin to pull us down spiritually and strongholds will develop. We will begin to see ourselves as failures because we’ve taken the bait and chose to meditate on a lie that the devil has fed us!
It is also not uncommon to find a person who picks up a demonic spirit through sin (such as fornication), and that demon uses it’s newly gained rights (or ability) in the person’s mind to quickly build strongholds. Since the demon is able to influence the person from the inside now, it can get the job done much quicker. This is not an uncommon scenario! Not only does the demonic spirit(s) need to be driven out, but the stronghold also needs to be torn down before the person will experience a complete breakthrough.
Strongholds can and do play a big part of how we feel
If we think we are a failure, we will feel like failures. If you think you’re hopeless, you will feel hopeless. If you know you are forgiven, you’ll feel clean inside. If you constantly think of your past failures, you will see yourself as associated with them. If you constantly think of how you have been separated from your past when the Blood of Jesus has washed it away, you will feel bright and clean inside. Changing the way you think can make a big difference in the way you feel!
How do we tear down strongholds?
Strongholds are build upon deception and lies that we’ve accepted into our minds. So how do you counter a lie? How do you counter deception? With the truth. Where do we find the truth? In the Word of God. As we can see in Ephesians, this weapon is known as the sword of the Spirit:
Ephesians 6:17, “…the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
In 2 Corinthians, we are told that our spiritual weaponry is designed to tear down strongholds:
2 Corinthians 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
This is a great verse that gives us a good idea of how we are to go about tearing down strongholds in our minds. First, since the sword of the Spirit is the offensive piece of our weaponry, it is a great tool for tearing down strongholds. You need to go on the offensive to tear down a stronghold, and the Word of God is the weapon you cannot afford not to use.
So when the devil tries to tell us, “You really messed up, haven’t you?”
You need to counter it with, “1 John 3:5 tells me that the reason Jesus went to the cross was to take away that sin! Hebrews 8:12 tells me that even God has chosen to forget my sin!”
Boy does Satan hate that! It reminds him of the days when he tried tempting Jesus:
Satan said to Jesus, “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” (Matthew 4:3)
But Jesus replied with, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
What did Satan do? After Jesus did that a few times, he had no choice but to hit the road… his efforts were useless against Jesus! Jesus knew the relevant scriptures to quote, and took away Satan’s ability to influence Him!
Let’s go back to 2 Corinthians again and see what else it has to say:
2 Corinthians 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
As we can see, we are told to cast down imaginations. What are imaginations? They are things that we imagine… the devil usually plants them in our minds when he asks us a question that starts out with “What if…” Don’t waste your time trying to reason things with the devil. Just throw it out and leave him hanging! Get your mind on God’s Word and off of what the devil is trying to tell you.
What else are we told in this verse? We are to cast down every thought that comes into our minds that opposes the knowledge of God. What is the knowledge of God? Since God associates Himself with His Word (John 1:1), if anything comes into our minds that is contrary to God’s Word, throw it out! Do not waste your time thinking about it or trying to reason with it. If Satan is trying to tell you that God is not wanting to forgive you, then don’t listen to it. Why? Because His Word says otherwise:
Isaiah 30:18, “Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.” (NASB)
Not only does He want to forgive your sins, so that your relationship with Him can be restored, He longs (which means He deeply desires) to do so! One of the last things Satan wants us to know is God’s forgiving and loving nature towards us even after we have messed up!
As you can see, strongholds are built on lies and deception. How do you counter such things? With truth! Where do you find truth? In the Word of God! Stop thinking about what Satan has been feeding you, and begin to meditate on God’s Word. Take verses in the Bible that run contrary to what the devil’s been feeding you, and repeat them to yourself over and over out loud. Think about them often, and meditate on them. The devil got his stronghold built by causing you to meditate on his lies and deception, so if you want to tear down that stronghold, you need to begin meditating on the exact opposite, which is God’s Word.
Listening to and reasoning with the things the devil puts in your mind is exactly what he wants you to do. It feed his strongholds when you allow your mind to meditate on Satan’s word (opposite of God’s Word). Cut him off at the source and say NO to the garbage he’s been feeding you, and at the same time turn to God’s Word. Begin to feed, meditate upon, think about often and dwell upon on the truth. It will stop Satan dead in his tracks!
It is also possible to have strongholds in place because demonic spirits have attached themselves to you at some point or another, and need to be driven out. If you work hard at tearing down strongholds by applying the truths in God’s Word and this teaching, and yet you seem to hit a wall, it may be because a demonic spirit needs to be driven out. It is very possible (and not uncommon) to experience quite a bit of freedom through applying the principals in this teaching even if there is a demonic spirit present, but you will only go so far and feel like you’re hitting a wall. That is a sign of a demon at work that needs to be driven out. It can be awfully hard to battle when they are working on you from the inside out. Resisting them from the outside is easy, but resisting them when they are on the inside can be extremely hard. If you seem to have reached an immovable mountain, you might want to consider the possibility of needing to have an unclean spirit driven out.
Many Christians today believe that they cannot have demons… nothing could be further from the truth! When you’re in the ministry of deliverance, you see very sincere believers manifest demons quite often. I was one myself… a very sincere believer who dearly loved the Lord… and yet I faced awful demonic bondages and have been through deliverance! .

BINDING AND LOOSING!!!!

What does it mean for something to be bound in heaven? I

f you look up the word ‘heaven’ in the Greek, you’ll find another word called ‘air’, which is where the spirits dwell.

The Bible also says that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. This isn’t referring to heaven as in the place we go after we die, but rather a realm.

The Bible tells us that we are seated in the heavenly realm with Christ (Ephesians 2:6). We, as humans, were below the angels and demons, but as believers, we are now seated above the angelic realm and seated with Christ!

So the word ‘heaven’ here is referring to the spiritual realm, the air, where the spirits dwell and operate. In Ephesians 2:2, Satan is known as the ‘prince of the power of the air’.

Therefore, when you bind something here on earth, it will be bound in the spiritual realm as well. This gives us the ability to bind demons, because they dwell within the spiritual realm.
