Hope of A Future Bible Verses
There are times in life that it feels like the future looks bleak. These are great passages on hope to read from the Old Testament to lift you up and encouraged you today.
Proverbs 24:20 for the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.
Proverbs 24:14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Hope of Eternal Life and Salvation Scriptures
The greatest hope in the Christian faith is that of eternal life. This hope is based on Jesus Christ and your relationship with Him. Write down one of these verses to reflect on in times of need.
Titus 1:1-2 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began
Titus 3:7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
1 Corinthians 15:19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Hope From the Book of Romans
The book of Romans is one that is filled with some of the greatest verses in the Holy Bible. When it comes to the topic of hope, Romans provides many verses to inspired you.
Romans 5:2-5 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Romans 8:24-25 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Romans 12:12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Romans 15:4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Hope in the Midst of a Crisis Verses
You might have found this article today because your life is in the midst of a crisis. God brought you to these verses for a reason. Read through these two passages slowly and let God speak to you through them.
Psalm 27:4-5 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.
Mark 5:35-36 While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”
Reasons To Hope Quotes
Maybe you just need a biblical reason for hope. There are some many great verses to choose from for this. Here are three of my favorites!
Numbers 23:19 God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
John 4:13-14 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Example of Hope in the Bible
Job 13:15 Though he slay me, I will hope in him; yet I will argue my ways to his face.
Hope and Faith Bible Verse
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
C.S. Lewis Quotes on Hoping For Something More
“Most people, if they had really learned to look into their own hearts, would know that they do want, and want acutely, something that cannot be had in this world. There are all sorts of things in this world that offer to give it to you, but they never quite keep their promise.
“At present we are on the outside… the wrong side of the door. We discern the freshness and purity of morning, but they do not make us fresh and pure. We cannot mingle with the pleasures we see. But all the pages of the New Testament are rustling with the rumor that it will not always be so. Someday, God willing, we shall get “in”… We will put on glory… that greater glory of which Nature is only the first sketch.
We do not want to merely “see” beauty–though, God knows, even that is bounty enough. We want something else which can hardly be put into words–to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it.
Spark Hope In Others Today
If God gave you hope through these verses, find a way to spark hope in others that you know need it. Take a verse or all the scriptures if you need to and send them to a friend in need. If everyone reading this would pass some of the scriptures on through Social Media or email we can give hope to so many!
Some of my other Favorite Verses
1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
2 Corinthians 4:13-14 Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence.
1 Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Mark 10:52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
Psalm 118:24 This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

At one time or another, all of us will face times when our future is uncertain. You don’t know what God’s will is for your life. In these times, Bible verses about the future are crucial for sustaining your faith. You need verses about trusting God to encourage your soul.
Maybe you’re about to graduate from college and have no idea what you will do this coming January. Perhaps you just lost your job. Or you’ve just moved to a new area where you know no one. Maybe you’ve just started a new job and feel overwhelmed at the challenges that loom before you. Maybe you’re single and wonder if you’ll ever get married. Your life may even be so uncertain you don’t know where your next meal will come from.
Whatever the case, you’re tempted to feel worried about the future.
Whatever the case, you feel worried about the future and need God to help you overcome fear.
Hope For The Future
The reality is that none of us are secure in this world except in Christ. Nothing is certain. We aren’t guaranteed our next meal. We aren’t even guaranteed our next heartbeat. Even when we feel secure, we are incredibly fragile and completely dependent on the Lord for every breath.
But when we are tempted about the future it is important for us to meditate on these unshakeable, always true Bible verses about the future. We can know God is good through the scriptures. In the scriptures, he makes it VERY clear that our future is secure in him.
My suggestion would be to copy these Scriptures and put them somewhere so you can see them regularly, like in your Bible or on your fridge. Even if you only meditate on the first three or four, God will use his word to encourage your heart.
If you find yourself struggling with fearful thoughts, meditate on these words and be encouraged as these verses speak to your worry and fear and anxiety. Let the word of God give you the peace that passes understanding.

17 Bible Verses About The Future To Give You Hope and Peace
#1. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Are you struggling to trust God? Do you worry that he doesn’t have good plans for your future? You can take heart, knowing that even if things look out of control, God has plans for your welfare. He has plans to bless you, and your future is filled with hope.
#2. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Psalm 32:8
You may not know the way to go, but God does. He knows exactly where he’s leading you, and you can be sure it’s to a place of green pastures and still waters. He will instruct you and show you the way. He will counsel you with his eye upon you. You can trust God that he’s taking you to pleasant places.
#3. Mark the blameless and behold the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace. Psalm 37:37
Because you are IN Christ, you are blameless and upright. This means that there is a future that is full of blessing for you. You can have hope for the days ahead, not because of your own personal righteousness, but because you are in Jesus Christ.
#4. He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things. Romans 8:32
If God didn’t spare his own Son to save you, you can trust him with whatever circumstances you find yourself in. Think about it for a moment. He didn’t even spare his son. Won’t he do good to you? Won’t he bless you and take perfect care of you? Yes he will. This verse gives you great reason to trust in God.
#5. Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the LORD all the day. Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 23:17-18
Right now, it may feel like everyone has hope for the future except you. You look around and even those who aren’t following God seem to have good things coming their way. But take heart, surely God has a bright future for you. There is much hope for the days to come.
#6. My son, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 24:13-14
Because you are God’s child, you can be confident that he will give you wisdom. And because he will give you wisdom, you can be sure that you will have a future and a hope. When you have the wisdom of God, you don’t need to fear the future. Rather, you can entrust yourself to God who knows all things.
#7. Therefore do not be anxious, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6: 31-33
It’s easy to become anxious about how you’re going to pay the bills or provide for your family. You can be sure, however, that if you seek God above everything else, he’ll handle all the little details of your life. If God provides so generously even for those who don’t follow him, you trust him to provide even more generously for you.
#8. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
God has saved you and is making you more and more like Jesus Christ. He has good works prepared for you. In the coming days, months, and years, you can be sure that God will lead to places where you will do many good works for the Lord. Your future will fruitful.
#9. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. John 10:27-29
Nothing can ever snatch you out of Jesus’ hands. Not life or death, sickness or bankruptcy. Jesus is the Great Shepherd and you are one of his sheep. Just as a human shepherd protects his sheep, you can be absolutely sure that Jesus will protect you. This bible verse gives you every reason to trust God.
#10. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
God has promised that he will NEVER leave you or forsake you, no matter what circumstances you find yourself in. When you know he won’t leave you or forsake you, it frees you from feeling like you need to hoard money for the future. You can give generously and be content, trusting that God will always take exceptional care of you.
#11. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:2
Yes, there will be times when God leads you through fiery trials and deep waters. But just as he was with Israel when they went through the Red Sea and with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace, so he’ll be with you. The flood waters won’t overwhelm you and the fire won’t consume you.
#12. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3
If you fix your mind on God and his faithfulness and trust God in all of your steps, God will give you peace. Your circumstances may not change, but you will experience the peace that passes all understanding.
#13. I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread. Psalm 37:25
God has never once abandoned his children. He has never forsaken those who trust in him. From Adam to Abraham to David to Peter to Paul to you and me, God has never left his people on their own. You can trust him to provide for all of your needs and be with you every step you take.
#14. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3
As you plan for the future, you can be sure that if you commit those plans to the Lord, he will guide you. Your plans may not come to pass as you imagine they will, but you can be sure that God’s good plans for you will. Nothing can stop God’s wonderful plan for you.
#15. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
You don’t know the future and don’t even know all that God is doing right now in your life. But God’s ways and thoughts are infinitely higher and better than your ways and thoughts. You can trust God to lead you according to his infinitely good and better ways. He is guiding you according to his ways and not yours.
#16. Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32
When you’re in the midst of trials and struggles, it’s hard to trust God. It’s easy to be fearful. But you are part of Jesus’ “flock”, and he is shepherding you. God has made you a citizen of his everlasting kingdom, and that kingdom cannot be stopped. You have a future and a hope because you are part of God’s glorious kingdom.
#17. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
When life is confusing, it can be hard to trust God. But this verse is a strong reminder to trust in the Lord, and NOT to trust in your own thoughts or understanding. The reality is, you don’t know all that God is doing right now, but you can be absolutely sure that it is good. As you wait on the Lord, you can know that he’s doing 10,000 good things on your behalf.
Take time to meditate on these Scriptures and see how God uses them to increase your faith. God has given you these verses to give you hope for the future and bring peace to your anxiety.
