Biblical Prayers for Safe Travels
As I go on this journey, I claim a dwelling in the secret place of the Most High God, abiding under the shadow of the Almighty God, even to and fro.
The Lord shall be my unfailing refuge and fortress. I trust in Him for safety through out the journey.
I shall be divinely delivered from all snares of the evil ones and from every lurking pestilence along the way.
I am covered with God’s feathers and I trust under His saving wings. In obedience, I hold on to his truth as my timely shield and buckler.
Yes, I shall not be afraid for the terrors by night or day, and the evil arrows that fly by day or night! Neither will I be afraid of any pestilence that walks in darkness… Not even for the destruction that wastes at noonday.
Even if a thousand shall fall at my left side and thousands of thousands at my right hand, none shall come near me for I am secured by His Saving strength.
No matter what level of evil is recorded, I will only see them with my eyes and hear with my ears.
I dwell in safety because the Lord is my Refuge and the most High, my habitation.
There shall no evil befall me throughout this journey, neither shall any trouble come near wherever I will be.
Surely, the Lord shall give His Angels charge over me His child, and they shall keep me in all my ways on this trip.
The Angels shall bear me up in their hands that I don’t dash my feet against any stone.
Assuredly, I shall have dominion over every form of trouble that would ever surface, trampling them under my feet.
I will be delivered from all forms of accidents, calamity, tragedy, and misfortune because I have set my love and hope upon God. I will be set on high above forces and principalities because I have known the name of the Lord, my Redeemer.
Whenever I call upon the name of the Lord, He shall answer me speedily. Even if trouble would come, He will be with me. I will be delivered and be honoured in His name.
I claim the Long life the Lord shall satisfy me with. And I shall proclaim His salvation, now and forever.

Traveling by Plane
I will help you, I will uphold you with My victorious right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
God, sometimes flying makes me nervous.
I know airplanes are safe, but still I worry.
Please give me Your peace Help me remember that You are watching over the plane.
Bless the men and women in the cockpit.
Bless the flight attendants and all the passengers.
Remind me that flight is a miraculous gift from You, and that when this plane speeds through the air, it is obeying the physical laws of the world You created.
As I look at the sky above and the earth below, I praise You for the beauty of Your creation.
I place myself confidently in Your care, knowing that, just as You guide me on the ground, so Your loving arms protect me in the air.
Prayer for Protection – Psalm 91
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely He will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For He will command His angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name.
15 He will call on Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him My salvation.”

Whether heading out on your daily commute, a business trip, vacation, or a visit with loved ones, it’s important to always pray before traveling to ask for God’s blessing and for spiritual protection—especially through the intercession of our Guardian Angels and St. Christopher, patron saint of travelers—against anything that may harm us. Below is a collection of prayers for safety while traveling, for ourselves and for those dear to us.
Grant me, O Lord, a steady hand and watchful eye, that no one shall be hurt as I pass by. Thou gavest life, I pray no act of mine may take away or mar that gift of Thine. Shelter those, dear Lord, who bear my company from the evils of fire and all calamity. Teach me to use my car for other’s need; nor miss through love of undue speed the beauty of the world; that thus I may with joy and courtesy go on my way. St. Christopher, holy patron of travelers, protect me, and lead me safely to my destiny. Amen.
O Almighty and merciful God, who hast commissioned Thy angels to guide and protect us, command them to be our assiduous companions from our setting out until our return; to clothe us with their invisible protection; to keep from us all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of fall and bruises, and finally, having preserved us from all evil, and especially from sin, to guide us to our heavenly home. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Each time I drive Lord, may I feel, Your hands on mine upon the wheel. Give me a careful, watchful eye, for young and old, when I drive by. Keep me from speeding needlessly, passing earth’s beauties heedlessly. I want to use this car for You, to drive my friends with safety too. But all these things can never be, unless O Lord, you drive with me. Amen.
In the name of God I go on this journey. May God the Father be with me, God the Son protect me, and God the Holy Ghost be by my side. Amen.
Lord, be our guide and our protector on the journey we are about to take. Watch over us. Protect us from accidents. Keep us free from harm to body and soul. Lord, support us with Your grace when we are tired. Help us be patient in any trouble which may come our way. Keep us always mindful of Your presence and love. Amen.
Dear Saint, you have inherited a beautiful name—Christopher—as a result of a wonderful legend that while carrying people across a raging stream you carried the Child Jesus. Teach us to be true Christbearers to those who do not know Him. Protect all drivers who often transport those who bear Christ within them. Amen.
