Praying for unity in the body of christ

Heavenly Father, we come before you to magnify and glorify your name. We, as the body of Christ, give you all the praise and honour you deserve. Help us all to unite and and pray together as a congregation, for we know where two or more are gathered in your name, you are with us, Oh Lord.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.

Rom 15:5,6 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bless us, Oh Divine Father, to find unity with each other, to work together to deliver your word. For we know man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

May we be a blessing to others, as we strive to be more like Jesus, Oh Loving Father; kind, caring, compassionate, loving, giving, forgiving and humble.

Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Oh Lord, as we work together to build your empire, let us be the light that leads the world to you. God, teach us to be good role models to the people around us, so that when they see you and your love within us, they would want to know you more and more.

Grant us the patience to work together. Bring us all together as a family. Let us work together with understanding and compassion in our hearts. Let us not be rude or arrogant towards one another, as we light the way to your heavenly kingdom.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.

Eph 4:31, 32  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

We declare in the name of Jesus and according to the power of God at work in us, that we are of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing (with one another), loving (each the other as brethren of one household), compassionate and courteous – tenderhearted and humble-minded.

We never return evil for evil or insult for insult, scolding, tongue lashing, berating. But, on the contrary, blessing, praying for their welfare, joy, and protection and truly pitying and loving one another.

For we know that to this we have been called, that we may ourselves inherit blessings from God, obtain blessings as heirs, bringing welfare and joy and protection.

In Jesus’ most Holy and Precious name, AMEN!!

“Prayer meetings were the arteries of the early church. Through them, life-sustaining power was derived. The condition of the church may be very accurately gauged by its prayer meetings. So is the prayer meeting a grace-o-meter, and from it, we may judge of the amount of divine working among a people. If God is near a church, it must pray. And if He is not there, one of dying first tokens of His absence will be a slothfulness in prayer!” Charles Haddon Spurgeon

When is the last time you prayed for your church body? What about your pastor? Staff? Leadership? Have you prayed for your Sunday School teacher? Have you interceded on behalf of issues taking place in your church or decisions that need to be made?

Our churches are under the attack of the enemy like never before. Our leaders and each of our brothers and sisters in Christ need our prayers. We are the Body of Christ and we must lift one another up! Let’s use these prayers for the church – both your local church and those around the world.

A Prayer for Good to Prevail over Evil

“‘As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. So do not fear; I will provide for you and your little ones.’ Thus he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.” Genesis 50:20

Lord, what the enemy means for evil against our church body, we believe You can use for good. Remind our hearts of this. When we are being attacked and crushed from all sides, remind us of Your faithfulness to use everything for Your good and Your glory. May we not fear but trust in Your provision for our church family. May we not only be readers of Your Word but believers and doers. Increase our faith, Lord.

A Prayer for Unity as a Church Body

“I, therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3

God, help our church body to walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have given us. Help us in all our interactions with one another to have humble and gentle hearts. Grant us patience for one another, bearing with one another in love. Grant the Body of Christ unity. May we walk humbly with You, God, allowing You to show us our wrongs.

A Prayer to Seek the Lord

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.” 2 Chronicles 7:14-15

Lord, You have told us in Your Word that You hear our prayers. We are crying out to You, we are humbling ourselves before You and seeking Your face. We come together as a church body to seek You. We repent and turn from our wicked ways, thank You for hearing us. Thank you for Your forgiveness and healing.

A Prayer to Pursue Peace

“So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.” Romans 14:19

Father God, You desire peace and unity and encouragement for our body of believers. Help us, Lord, to pursue what makes for peace and for building one another up. To pursue the things You will lead to peace and unity. Give us discerning hearts to know Your will and give us the courage to be obedient. Lord, we know that without You and Your Holy Spirit indwelling each of us, we cannot do any of these things. But, with You and for Your glory, grant our body peace and unity.

A Prayer to Follow Jesus

“And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” Luke 9:23-24

Lord, You have given us what seems like an impossible task with this passage. You have asked us to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow You. Even when our spirits are willing, the flesh is weak. You know our hearts, Father. Help us, with Your Holy Spirit, to examine our hearts and hear from You. The longer we walk with You, the more we look like You. We desire to become more and more like You, less selfish and more selfless, willing to deny ourselves in any and all situations. You have told us that when we lose our life for Your sake, we will save it. Save us from ourselves, God.

As we lift up these words for our churches, let us come before God with humility and a willingness to obey. Let us put others first and serve our brothers and sisters in Christ. May we seek God first, putting aside our own desires. May we become intercessors for our brothers and sisters in Christ. May we pray more and criticize less. May we be encouragers and uplifters.

praying for unity in the body of christ

Unity to God is more important than diversity that many in today’s world are celebrating. Christians must stay together.

The Bible reference

“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous”.

(1 Peter 3:8 KJV)

Pray for Unity in Christendom

UNITY PRAYER – No. 1

Holy Spirit, please enable the church to serve you with openness and love. Let brethren operate in love, and let us submit to the leadership of your Holy Spirit. Also, mortify every work of flesh in our lives, so that we can faithfully serve you and be truthfully committed to one another. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

UNITY PRAYER – No. 2

Father, please bring the body of Christ together and let us act as a theme. Grant each believer a loving heart to accommodate his/her fellow Christians. Let every denomination put prejudice aside and submit to your will by demonstrating true love toward others. Enable the fold of Christ to raise the banner of love to uphold your righteousness in every community. Please help the church to overcome all its challenges, so that your name can be praised throughout the world. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

UNITY PRAYER – No. 3

Jehovah, please help the church to stay together to achieve its heavenly mandate. Help brethren to worship you together in spirit and in truth. Also, help brethren to minister to the needs of each other in love. Let every brother and sister in Christ make personal efforts that are necessary to keep the body of Christ together in unity. At end of this world, let brethren converge at your feet in paradise to enjoy endless fellowship with you. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

UNITY PRAYER – No. 4

Father, please give me the grace to love other people genuinely. Let me have a positive interest of other people in mind. Help me to demonstrate selfless love towards my fellow believers, and let me make positive contributions to their lives. Please let me receive benefits of true love in this life, and the one to come! For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

UNITY PRAYER – No. 5

Ancient of Days, please save the Christian community from bitterness and rage of division that hinders our operations. Let brethren respectfully deal with each other. Enable us to find common ground that would offer us platform to preach your unbiased gospel. Help us to lay aside our differences, and let us respect bible teachings. Let your Holy Spirit give us proper interpretations of your word, and let us adequately apply them into our lives. Help the church to be sensitive and corporately launch crusades that will uphold your righteous standard and lead people to receive your salvation. Let us be your true ambassadors on earth so that we can receive your eternal rewards in heaven. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

UNITY PRAYER – No. 6

Dear Jesus Christ, please enable believers to operate in love. Let us love and care for each other genuinely. Let brethren minister to each other in prayers and encouragements. Let brethren provide for each other in food, clothes, money, and other necessities. Enable us to visit our fellows in the hospital; let us offer moral supports for people in need. Let your genuine love be real in Christian fold so that your glory can radiate in our lives with signs and wonders. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

UNITY PRAYER – No. 7

Dear God, please keep brethren together in unity. Encourage us to put our differences aside so that we can effectively praise you with one mind. Release your overflowing grace and anointing on all brethren as we make significant efforts to promote your name in love. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

UNITY PRAYER – No. 8

Jehovah, please bind the Christian body together in unity. Let both the church leaders and their members submit to you. Let denominations subject their private doctrines for bible standards; let all churches and brethren join their hands together to promote your righteousness in our lands. Let the church prioritize gospel evangelization, and let them intensely engage in it so that unbelievers throughout the world can have an opportunity to be saved. Please do not let brethren fail you anymore, but let us actively and faithfully serve you so that we can be blessed on earth and in heaven. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

Greetings Greetings Brothers and Sisters.  Randy and I pray that you are well and the Lord continue to bless and protect you and your loved ones.  Holy Spirit has been revealing to me the importance of unity in the Body of Christ in these last days.  Here in the United States we are witnessing everything else but unity.  Wherever you turn you can see lines of division, man siding against man, political parties standing to defend their platforms, black against white, and even in His Church plagued with differing doctrines and denominations.

We are living in evil days as we are warned in Ephesians 5:14-16, Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light.  Look carefully then how you walk!  Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise—sensible, intelligent people;  Making the very most of the time—buying up each opportunity—because the days are evil. There can be no doubt that we are living in times when we MUST stand together as one body so that God can manifest His power to this lost and dying world.  2 Chronicles 7:14-15   If My people who are called by My name shall humble themselves, pray and seek, crave and require of necessity My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.  Now My eyes will be open, and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place.  For I have chosen and sanctified (set apart for holy use) this house, that My name may be here for ever, and My eyes and My heart will be here perpetually. Matthew 12:25 And knowing their thoughts, He said to them, Any kingdom that is divided against itself is being brought to desolation and laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will last or continue to stand!

Family it is time that we wake up, arise from our apathy and come together as one body, soul and heart through repentance, forgiveness and humbleness.  No one has all the answers.  God’s house is divided, and it cannot stand against the attacks of the enemy that moment by moment is coming against us to rob, kill and destroy. Psalm 133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  It is like the precious ointment poured on the head, that ran down on the beard, even the beard of Aaron (the first high priest), that came down upon the collar and skirts of his garments (consecrating the whole body);  Like the dew of (lofty) Mount Hermon, and the dew that comes on the hills of Zion; for THERE the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life for evermore (upon the high and the lowly).

It is urgent that we, as the chosen children of the Living God,  lay down all of our prejudices, criticisms, differences and humble ourselves before the Holy Father, interceding and praying for His mercy to come upon this nation.  Families must join together as they did in the book of Nehemiah, standing shoulder to shoulder for one common cause, to rebuild the walls and doors of our great nation.  At the end of the day does it really matter what denomination you belong to or what theological doctrine you have chosen to believe?  I have chosen just one thing and this shall I seek, to dwell in the House of the Lord all the days of my life to gaze upon His beauty and inquire in His temple.  He is the head of the Body, and we each have a purpose and function as part of that body.  No one can say that they are more important or know the truth better than another.  God is no respecter of men!  He loves each and every one of His children the same.  So as Jesus was one with His father, so too we are to be one with Him and with each other.  I pray this day that you will truly consider the importance of laying aside the  what you “believe”, and just love one another in the same way that Jesus loved us.  For there is no greater love that when one lays down his life for a friend.  God bless you all.
