Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. “Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us; our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maula (Patron, Supporter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people.”

The difference between Standard and Hanafi (Juristic Methods)

The only difference is in the Asr prayer. In the standard method (which is used by Imamas Shafii, Hanbali, and Maliki) the Asr prayer time starts when the shadow of an object is equivalent to its height, whereas in the Hanafi method the Asr prayer time starts when the shadow of an object is twice its height.

Daylight Saving Time

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is the practice of setting the clocks forward one hour from standard time during the summer months, and back again in the fall, in order to make better use of natural strong daylight. IslamicFinder Website is adjusting daylight savings automatically according to your location.

Latitude and Longitude

To calculate the prayer times for a given location, we need to know the latitude and the longitude of your current city or town, along with the local timezone for that location. IslamicFinder is detecting longitude, latitude and timezone of your current city or town automatically. If you face any difference in prayer timings according to your current location then please confirm these latitude and longitude first. You can also use our ‘€˜Change Settings€™’ option to change latitude, longitude and timezone of your current location. You can find this option of ‘Change Settings’ from Top Search bar setting link on right side or from today prayer times card.

A Prayer for Prodigals
By Steve Arterburn

“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’” — Luke 15:31-32

In The Return of the Prodigal Son, one of Rembrandt’s most emotionally-charged paintings, you see a father and his two sons. But if you look more closely, you’ll see a tale of two prodigals.

prayers today

At first glance of the oil painting, you will see the rebellious son who takes center stage.  Remember him?  He is the wayward son that demands an early inheritance, leaves home to see all that the world has to offer, and comes to his senses in a smelly pigsty. In spite of his sin, he returns home.

When the younger son sees his father, he humbly admits, “‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son,’” (Luke 15:21). The father recognizes that he is truly repentant, forgives him, and celebrates his homecoming.

But if you gaze carefully at Rembrandt’s masterpiece, you will see the older son who lurks in the shadows.  He is the son that does everything right and always obeys—at least, on the outside. But deep down inside, bitterness and anger consume him.

Listen to what the brooding brother says: “‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders…But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’”(Luke 15:29-30).

Out of these two prodigals, which one do you identify with the most? Perhaps you’re like the wayward son who acted out; yet, believe it or not, you might actually relate more to the envious son who acted in.

And let’s face it. Whether we’re rebelling outwardly or inwardly, we are all prodigals.

It’s not too late to stop reacting and start responding appropriately to the circumstances that you are facing. No matter what you’ve been through or what you’ve done, God wants you to take your life back so that you can live with Him and for Him.

So, what are you waiting for? Go home to your Father. After all, He is waiting to welcome you home with open arms.

Dear Heavenly Father, I’m a prodigal and have wandered far from home.  Today, I realize that I need to take responsibility for allowing my past and my pain to control me.  Give me courage to step out of the shadows, and help me to lean into your grace-filled embrace.

prayers today

Even if you have failed or experiencing disappointment, keep going, keep pressing forward. Failure is not fatal, it is not defining. You are not a failure, you are an overcomer.  If you keep pressing forward, you will overcome.  No matter how great the fall, failure is not your destination, it happens to us all. So pick yourself up and keep going, keep trying, again and again, don’t give up. No one is immune to failure. It is the courage to continue that counts, so don’t give up now. “Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up” ~Chinese quote

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,And He delights in his way.24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.” (Psalm 37:23-24)

Even if you are struggling, keep working hard, there is hope. God is watching out for you. You don’t have to face the trials alone, call on God, call on the name of Jesus, He will carry you through.  Though you are struggling and your trial is big to you, it is not too big for God, so cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you.

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Even if you feel darkness all around you and you feel you cannot continue, you are tired, you’ve had enough, enough of pain, disappointment, adversity, failure and you don’t know where to turn, I encourage you today, keep walking there is light at the end of the tunnel. During times of adversity, put your faith in God.  He will help guide you to the path of happiness and peace.  Friends and family may not be able to help, but God is there waiting for you to turn to Him and He will carry you through the dark tunnel of life into a place of peace.  God will give you health, strength and joy in times of adversity.  He is always there, I encourage you to call on Him.  Call on the name of Jesus, He is the answer.  He will be your Light and Protector through the tough times.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Even if you have lost everything and all hope is gone, keep standing.  The devil wants you to lose hope and he wants you to start losing faith.  When your heart has grown heavy and you feel lost, I encourage you to keep standing, do not allow the heaviness, the burden, the weight, the worries of life and anxiety to hold you back.  There is not a feeling we can have that God is not aware of.  He knows when we are hurting, lost, lonely and afraid.  When we cry out to Him, He will respond tenderly…

“Fear not, for I am with you;Be not dismayed, for I am your God.I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you,I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

Even if you are hearing negative voices, keep fighting, don’t give up.  God has a voice, a soft voice of hope and a future. The enemy also has a contrary voice, a negative voice of failure, whispers of accusation, guilt, fear and hopelessness asking you to end it all.  That is the voice of the enemy.  He wants to kill you, to steal from you and if you pay enough attention to that voice he will try and destroy you.  The voice of the enemy is yelling “Defeat!”, “Failure!” at you, robbing you of your joy in the Lord. Don’t let that “voice” ruin your life.  Don’t allow that “voice” to ruin your walk with Jesus.

There is another voice of the Holy Spirit.  It requires a lot more effort to hear.  It is not aggressive, it is a very soft voice of comfort and hope.  You have to slow down and be quiet and spend time in prayer and God’s Word so you can hear His still small voice.  Prayer will bring you closer to the Holy Spirit and you will hear His soft voice of comfort and hope. All of us hear voices, but we have a choice on who we want to listen to.  Choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth, His name is Jesus.

“Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing,And those who strive with you shall perish.12 You shall seek them and not find them—Those who contended with you. Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a nonexistent thing.13 For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand,Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:11-13)

Even if everything you lay your hands on seems to slip through the net, keep going and don’t give up.

My Prayer For You

Today, I pray that the Lord will be with you, may He encourage your heart and deliver you from all the attacks of the enemy.  You are blessed.  May the blessing of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit be upon you.  I pray that the Lord will give you strength to face the hard and troubled times you are currently going through.  Remember, life is all about seasons.  This season of your life will pass and you will make it to the other side.  Even though you go through the valley of the shadow of death, I pray that the Lord will be your rod and your staff, your strength, your pillar and deliverer. The dry seasons in life do not last.  The spring rains will come again.  I pray that your spring rains will come again.  You are not alone…you are not forgotten.

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,And delivers them out of all their troubles.18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,And saves such as have a contrite spirit.” (Psalm 34:17-18)

God bless you today and always.
