Good evening! Another day is ending, and maybe you’re you looking for a way to give your dreams to God, forgive the wrongs of the day, or ask the Spirit to speak to you in your sleep. If you’re unsure what to say as you face another night alone or a challenging tomorrow, pray along with these words and make Him the Lord of your nights!
Heavenly Father, my day is drawing to an end, and I’m ready to turn in. But before I do, I have to thank you for your faithfulness today. It’s always a good day, even when things may not go the way I plan, or when the world seems in chaos, because you are in control.
For all the times when I was aware of your help today, all the times when your unseen presence seemed so near, thank you, God. But for all the ways you worked behind the scenes, unknown to me, moments when heaven-sent angels moved on my behalf in ways I’ll never know, thank you for those also, Lord.
Forgive me for any foolish actions on my part today or things I did without first asking your blessing or wisdom. Those are moments I’d rather forget, but I’m so grateful for your forgiveness when I ask. I never want to go to bed without clearing the air between us, Lord. Our friendship means too much, and your holiness deserves that. Thank you for loving me just as I am. Your love compels me to give you my all and fills my heart with praise for the relationship we share because of Jesus.

As I close my eyes tonight, I’m praying for loved ones around me, for friends and those who need to know you, Lord. I’m praying that your love, like the billions of stars in the night sky outside, will touch them and help them see who you really are. I pray for our world and those in it. I pray for their needs as well as my own.
Grant me a good night’s sleep tonight, God, so that I can awake refreshed and ready to begin another day loving you. Thank you again for blessings so undeserved and too numerous to count. I love being your child, and I long for the word “faithful” to describe my service to you, each day of every year. When I awake in the morning, may it be with a joyful smile, not a grumpy spirit. May your protection and your presence bathe this place with peace and safety against the enemy. Good night, Lord.
In Jesus’s name, Amen.

Thank You!
Dear Wonderful Father,
You have granted me another day of life to be your light on this world. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy your sunshine, my family, Your Word and Jesus today! It truly was another blessed day because You were in it, Lord. I am so thankful for all of the blessings You bestowed upon me today. I love You! Amen
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118:24)
Tomorrow?
Father in Heaven,
If tomorrow doesn’t come, I want You to know how much I love You! You have guided my steps today and brought me safely home to my family. You are truly my best friend! You sing over me daily. (Zephaniah 3:17) You rejoice over me with gladness. (Zephaniah 3:17) I am not worthy of Your affections, Father, and You don’t even consider the thought of Heaven without me. Oh Lord, You really are a great God! Your love is unending and it is my portion daily! Thank you Father! I love You! Amen
“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty One who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing!” (Zephaniah 3:17)
Uncertainties
Dear Lord,
The future for me is so obscure. I have no idea where my life is headed. All I know is where I have been today and I thank You for leading me through this day. Lord, will I ever get married? Will I find the perfect job? Will I ever own my own home? Where can I fit in at my church? Lord, there are so many questions that only You know the answers to. Father, as I end this day I give them to You and ask that You do as You see fit. I am at Your mercy always, loving Father. Thank You for this day and I pray that if tomorrow comes that answers may come with it. I love You! Amen
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)
Salt And Light
Glorious One,
Today was a wonderful day! Thank you for allowing me to be your vessel in spreading Your love to others through my actions today. I was the salt and the light to many people today. I know there will always be nay sayers but there are also lost people on very fertile soil. Lord, I pray that the seeds I planted today were on fertile soil. I pray, Lord, that you will water these seeds and reap a bountiful harvest. Thank you for this day! I love You! Amen
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
Rough Day
Lord above,
Today was a rough one. I am late on paying bills. I need new tires on my car and that caused me to almost have an accident. I feel like I am in a dead-end job. My spouse and kids are driving me crazy! Life is out of control right now, Father! Lord, I need Your stability right now. You are my Rock! Refresh my Spirit with song! Refresh my mind with Your Word! Refresh my soul within this prayer, Lord! I am at Your mercy and I know You are with me always. I pray, Lord, that You make my paths straight and iron out all of these trials. What can I learn from these trials? I place these all in Your hands. I love You, Father! Amen
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)
Praises
Oh Lord,
You led me safely through this day! May Your Name be praised always! Lord, I praise You for so many things! I praise You for my family, job, car, house, friends, church, Bible, prayer time, and most importantly, Jesus! Lord, thank You for Jesus! He bled and died for me! He loved me enough to embrace those nail-scarred hands and feet! Oh, how He loves me! I praise Your Name and the Name of Jesus Christ! I love You! Amen
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Strength
Father,
I am weak right now. There is so much going on in my life physically and emotionally that I am at my breaking point! I need Your strength to make it through these times. Father, I pray that tonight while I sleep You will refresh my mind and strength for tomorrow morning. Lord, I pray that You will watch over me as I sleep and bring pleasant thoughts into my mind as I dream away. Thank You for loving me, Lord! Amen
“You are my strength when I am weak. You are the treasure that I seek. You are my all in all.” (You Are My All In All – Dennis Jernigan)
Anticipation
Father,
Here I am ready to fall asleep and I can’t help but think about what Heaven will be like. I imagine beautiful walkways where the saints talk and sing praises to You! I imagine the room that Jesus has prepared for me! A room prepared by the greatest designer ever! I imagine talking with the people that I love right now and the ones that are already with You! I can’t wait to see the 12 gates surrounding it! I can’t wait to experience Jesus for the first time there! Oh Father, I will be in Your presence! In the presence of Yahweh! You are the biggest reward of all-time! Thank You for loving me so much, Father! Amen
“It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed.” (Revelation 21:12)

Do you sometimes have trouble sleeping? Is it difficult to settle down after a stressful day? Modern life is busy and leaves us tense. What can you do to get rid of this tension so you can rest? Spend some time talking to God at the end of your day, and you can shed your troubles.
It is commonly understood that starting off your day with prayer is an excellent practice, but sometimes we forget that it is important to end your day in prayer as well. A bedtime prayer helps you to forget the turmoil of the day and concentrate instead on spiritual things.
Prayer is spiritual armour to protect you from attacks of the enemy and troubling thoughts. Here are five prayers you can use to end your day in a positive way and get your mind right for a blissful sleep.
1. Thankfulness
Lord, I thank you for walking with me through another day. Thank you for your love and provision, and for helping me do your will. Forgive me for anything I may have said or done that is displeasing to you, and help me to be the Christian you have created me to be. Be with me now as I sleep and fill my heart and mind with thoughts of you. Bless my family, my home and my loved ones and keep us safe from all harm.
Thankfulness is a great way to turn your thoughts in the right direction and away from worries and cares. This prayer helps you concentrate on God’s goodness and forget the trials of the day.
2. Rest from Worry
Lord Jesus, please cleanse my thoughts of anger and worry. I know that worry is not your will for me. Please provide for all my needs as you promise in your word. I give to you all my fears, cares and troubles, as you have told me to do. Bring peace and comfort to my heart and help me to rest in you and have peace. Forgive me of any sins I have committed today and fill my heart with your love.
When you are deeply troubled or worried, the Bible teaches us to bring this to God. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) The second prayer leads you to give your problems over to God so that you may have rest.
3. The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6: 9-13 KJV)
Jesus’ followers asked him to teach them to pray. The Lord’s Prayer is the prayer that he gave them. Pray this prayer or one that follows the same sort of format to help you to get your spirit in a place of peace. Don’t only use this prayer at night, but whenever you want to reach out to God.
4. Simple Nighttime Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep, His Love to guard me through the night, And wake me in the morning light. If I should live another day I pray the Lord to guide my way. Amen
This simple children’s prayer has been around for centuries. You can pray it for yourself, or with your children to set the stage for a peaceful sleep and a feeling of comfort. The childlike simplicity may be more comfortable for you if you are unused to praying before sleeping.
5. Peace and comfort
Dear Lord, I need your presence. Please come and fill me with your spirit, and remove all troubling thoughts and fears. Comfort and guide me as I sleep and protect me from all evil. Help me to seek you and follow you all the days of my life, and keep me from sin. Protect me and my loved ones from harm and help us to know and love you. This I ask in Jesus’ name.
This prayer is short and simple and will bring peace, comfort and protection to you.
Ending your day with prayer is an excellent way to settle your emotions, bring peace and comfort to your spirit, and protect you from fear.
God is always waiting to hear from us and welcomes prayer at all times. Don’t wait until you are in the middle of a crisis to pray, but instead seek God daily. You will become more comfortable praying, and when a crisis does come, you will know how to pray for God’s help. Sleep well.

Written Version
A PRAYER TO END THE DAY
As I enter into the stillness and silence of the night,
I know that I am part of Creation,
and that I have my part to play in the Divine Plan.
Before I fall into restful and rejuvenating sleep,
I let go with intention any negative thoughts and beliefs
that may have arisen today. (Pause and Reflect)
I embrace those separated parts of me that are fragile and vulnerable
with compassion and love. (Pause and Reflect)
I express gratitude for what has unfolded this day. (Pause and Reflect)
I send loving kindness to my loved ones and friends, and all beings near and far. (Pause and Reflect)
Centred and balanced, whole and complete,
I breathe fully and freely,
flowing in the Ocean of Love,
in peace, in happiness, in beauty, and in love.
