Prayer for life struggles

by Robert (MA)

Dear Prayer People;

Hello and God Bless You All;

I am suffering a lot in my life. I am really getting Tired of Suffering inside this World!!! I am stressed in Deep Traumatic Emotional Pain, and I am at the End of My Rope. I really need the Lord Jesus and God to bring Joy, Peace, Love and Happiness into My Life soon. I am asking People to Pray, and Pray for Me, and I do NOT even feel People Praying for Me. I cannot feel anything. I am asking People to Pray for Me, and I do NOT even feel God Helping Me anywhere. My Heart can NOT take any more Pain! I am tired of hurting inside. I am at the Point where I am TIRED of Living in this World filled with PAIN, Hurt and 1,000 Life Problems. My Heart can NOT take anymore.

It is Tuesday, March 22, 2011 and I am Please asking People to Pray for me. I really need the Lord to Please Help me to get a New Permanent Job. I really need the Lord Jesus to Bring Joy and Happiness into my Life soon. I am still Unemployed, and really Suffering Bad Financially and Bad Emotionally, with a lot of Pain and Stress. I am praying myself at Home alone to God for Help, and I am asking also that you and other People please Pray for Me. I was laid off of my Job in 2009 due to the Bad Economy. I have not been able to find a Permanent Job in over 19 months. I have applied for many different Jobs. I am living all Alone, and I am currently Unemployed right now, and Struggling, and Struggling Badly Financially all by myself. I need a New Full-time Permanent $18.00 an Hour Job. I need to be able to afford to make Repairs to my Old House. I have suffered a lot in my life, all alone. I have been through a lot now in my life. A lot of Hurt & a lot of Pain is going on inside me. I am asking People to Please Pray and Pray for Me. All I have experienced in this Life is Pain, and nothing else. Each Day living is nothing but a constant Battle.

I am Tired now, I feel like my Life is a shame with so much disappointment. I have done a lot of good in life, I have treated people Right, I have done Good Things, and I have just been Hurt, Abused, and Hurt over and over again!
I cannot make my emotional Pain go away. I cant heal my heart. It is hard for me to even stay alive. I have done all that I can do on my own. I need Prayers And I need a Miracle. I wish God and Jesus would Please Truly Help Me in my Life with some Happiness and some Love. I would like to have Gods Favor in my Life. I would like to feel Gods Favor in my Life now.

I need the Lord to Please help me Financially in My Life. I am tired of being Alone, and I am tired of being Hurt by People. I need new Friends. I need Love in My Life. I need the Lord to Please bring & have a Girlfriend or Wife or a Loving Female Companion into My Life before it is too late.. It feels Nobody Loves Me! I have No Family and No Friends. I need the Lord to also bring a Person into my Life I know & feel that I can Trust. I am still going through a very lot Emotionally now. I am hoping God & Jesus will please release unlimited Blessings from Heaven in My Life in 2011 for Peace, Joy, and Happiness.
I am trying to get better each day. My Heart does Not know what to do anymore.

My Heart Hurts inside Constantly Each and Everyday of my Life! My Heart is Extremely Tired! My Mind is Tired! Every day it is a Struggle! From all that I have been through, I dont have much of the desire to live anymore. That is why I am asking People to Pray for Me. To be proactive, I am trying to reach out to People again, or Asking for Help everywhere.

I am praying myself daily and weekly. I am also studying the Bible, Listening to Christian Programs & tapes, watching Christian Movies, and trying to go to Church in my Area, and I am Trying hard and working on putting God First in every area of my everyday Life. I need the God & Jesus to Please Watch over Me, Protect Me from the Devil. I Need the Lord to also Help Me, Help Me Financially, Help Me Emotionally, Help Me mentally, Strengthen Me, & Guide Me in My Life. I hope God will Bless Me, and Bring some Love, Joy & Happiness in to My Life soon.

I am just so Tired with the Struggles of Life right now. I have always done everything honestly and truthfully, and then now all that I have done Good all of my life I feel it is just completely gone out the window. My Heart is so extremely Tired. I am losing the Will to live. My Loneliness each day is so Painful inside. I am tired of suffering. My Emotional Pain inside is Killing Me! I need other weekly Prayers from People to Help Me.

Will you all Ask the Lord to Please Bring a Happy Miracle into my Life? I wish God and Jesus would Please Help Me soon in my Life. I have been a Christian for over 20 years of my Life. I have sought after Gods Kingdom first and Gods Righteousness.

I have been Praying and praying myself alone but I do not feel anything. I am tired of suffering, and each Day it grows worse. With the Pain that I am in, my Heart will Not hold out much longer, and I will End my Life by Suicide at this point if no Real Relief, Blessing, or Love comes to me from the Lord soon. I wish God or Someone would Please too Help Me Now. I need Love in my Life.

I am praying myself alone to God for Help, and I ask Will You Please Pray and Pray to God and Jesus to Please Help Me Substantially inside of My Life? Will you please Pray to Jesus to Bring some Love, and Joy and Happiness into Roberts Life soon? Will you Please Pray for Someone to Please Give Me a Nice Permanent Job soon? Will you Please ask the Lord Jesus Christ to Please Bless Robert Lowe with a Nice Permanent Job?

Will You All Please Think of Me, and PRAY FOR ME?
I am Please asking many People to Pray for Me; ROBERT.

Thank You Very Much and
God Bless You

In JESUS Name
Sincerely

~Robert~

Although I have no interest in the Kendricks’ movies (this book is inspired by “War Room”) nor do I think share much of the same view of faith and values with them, this still makes one of those surprise books that is good anyway, and gives you solid hints on efficient, powerful prayer.

(I do think that ‘moments of silence’ have their values, even if one doesn’t use those moments for prayer – this was one disagreement, but to be honest, I disagreed with few enough, and small enough things in this book that it got four stars.)

It is suggested that one could use this by reading a chapter per day, and praying the prayer at the end of each chapter, with Bible nearby. I read three chapters per day, no prayer, but I did like many chapter prayers included. The book suggests one should reserve a certain time and place to pray in every day – besides what one prays at other times – to concentrate on prayer only and with great intensity.

What the book includes:

– the power of prayer and the need for it
– basics: prayer types, answers from God, possible posture variations, bad and good prayer motives
– your heart and prayer: genuine relationship with God (not just routine), the excellence of humility and repentance, the power of people united in prayer, to not let pride come into prayer situations, the necessity of persistence
– startegies: Scripture inspiration (read and remembered), knowing J’s will and willingness to give us what (good) we want, the use of God various names (listed in the appendix), praying for wisdom and incresed goodness, the guidance of Holy Spirit, praying against evil’s attacks beforehand, the use of fasting with prayer
– praying for: nonbelievers, missionaries, other believers (esp. spiritual needs), family, authorities (incl. us if we have such position), pastors, and for revival
+
Appendixes:
strategy for praying for revival (alone and different groups)
checking for lukewarmness
encouragement to begin life of proper Christianity
hints of verses to use to pray for someone or certain groups of people
verses when wrestling with certain issues
the names of God (one and for each part of Trinity)
on starting a prayer ministry
discussion questions for introduction and each chapter

So this is a pretty good book to add to one’s books about prayer even when not interested in the authors other works or sharing their values exactly. Nothing jarring, plenty of good information that one might miss. Something to reread parts or the whole of even in the future 🙂

it was amazing This book has helped me sooo much! I don’t even know where to begin this review.
I usually don’t enjoy this type of book. Sure, I’ve read several, but it’s usually not a good, enjoyable experience and something that takes me forever to accomplish. The writing was great; it really kept me wanting to read more. And everything mentioned by the Kendrick brothers is backed up with powerful Scripture references.
All in all, this was an amazing book. It has really strengthened my prayer life. I underlined many places and scribbled in the margins. 🙂 If you want to be challenged to grow closer to God, actively seek Him, and strengthen your prayer life, read this book. 😉 …more Feb 07, 2016 Crystal Scott

it was amazing I will admit I struggle with prayer, I don’t like praying out loud, in front of people even my family. I don’t know if its because I’m afraid I will not say the right thing. In the Battle Plan for Prayer, the Kendrick brothers will show us how to have a powerful prayer life. Guided by scripture we will learn to have a closer relationship with Christ with the words we pray. Prayer should always be the first thing we turn to for attack in all of life’s battles.

The Battle Plan for Prayer was inspired by War Room, the Kendrick Brothers new movie. If you are longing for a better prayer life I suggest watching War Room, reading The Battle Plan for Prayer and ladies read Fervent by Priscilla Shrier also. With all these tools that Christ has given us along with His word, we will be ready for Battle.

I highly recommend this book for anyone, young or old, man or woman. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book for my honest review.

It begins with a wonderful testimony of answered prayer which had serious implications for the two brothers and their family. Often our prayers can become unfocused and generic and this book provides a blueprint for a more strategic biblically based prayer life. The 35 short chapters are spread out across seven sections: Enlistment, Basic Training, Conditioning, Strategies, Targets, Ammunition and Reinforcements and the authors encourage you to read a chapter a day. Each chapter starts with a bible verse relating to the topic, moves into a short commentary and ends with a specific prayer. The 35 prayers alone make the investment in the book extremely worthwhile. I’m hoping the authors may provide some form of abbreviated resource that records only the prayers and chapter headings.

I found most of the topics were covered in enough detail however, there were some could have had more. There are also a number of excellent appendices providing bible verses and pointers to specific prayer points which I expect will be used by many readers.

This is a book that will help all people pray more strategically whether or not your new to it or a veteran. But it’s important to always remember that the best way to to get better at prayer is by having your Bible open and start praying.

it was amazing This study has revolutionized my experience with prayer. It’s helpful to have strategies and a better understanding of something so fundamental to the Christian faith. I just have to add that the narrator they got to do the audiobook sounds like a robot. That’s my only criticism.

I enjoyed The Battle Plan for prayer by Stephen because it deals with serious subjects that most people can relate. The book is organized well, which helps track all of the ideas and strategies. They talk about how to handle pressure the best as someone can and finds ways to cope with the harshness of life.

RECOMMENDATION:

I would recommend The Battle Plan for Prayer to eighth grade and beyond because some of the subject matter and concepts are more mature. Both males and females would enjoy this book it has universal subject matter and no gender based content. …more

The book is broken up into seven focus areas:
Enlistment
Basic Training
Conditioning
Strategies
Targets
Ammunition
Reinforcements.
Each focus area is further explained in the chapters they contain. For instance, the first chapter (under Enlistment) is the Legacy of Prayer.
In this chapter we learn that there’s not an issue we’re facing that prayer can not address because nothing is too difficult or impossible for God to handle. It also explains that the greatest and most spiritually successful men and women of the Bible were always people of prayer. Examples given were Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Moses, David, Daniel and Jesus. We are reminded that no church program, religious event, political effort, or humanitarian cause can trump the awesome power of what God can do in response to the prayers of His people. Then the chapter ends with a prayers.
This is a wonderful study for either a small group or an individual. It’s set up in an easy to follow format. The verbiage is both easy to read and understandable. Each area is backed up by biblical scriptures that you can reference to. The section of Ammunition offers an array of references such as: Rhythms of Prayer, Spiritual Temperature Test, The Gospel, Prayer Strategy Verses, Spiritual Ammo, The Names of God, and Starting a Prayer Ministry. This area alone you could spend several hours if not days delving into the scripture. The last section is Reinforcements which consists of discussion questions.

This is a book that when you finish will be placed close by for easy reference. Would I recommend it to anyone? Definitely. I can’t think of anyone who would not benefit from this book whether you are new to Christianity or faithful believer.

This was a book I read and put down and picked back up to finish over about a 7-month span. I used it for personal gains, to help teach lessons, and to set a program in place for prayer leading up to a fall revival. It’s really good.

When I was looking for a Bible study based on the popular film, War Room, this is more of what I had in mind. My home fellowship went through the DVD-based study by the same authors, called War Room Bible Study, but it was not so much about prayer as about getting your heart right in preparation for prayer. This Battle Plan for Prayer does have several chapters on the same thing, but they also give plenty of instruction about how to actually pray for yourself and others.

This Battle Plan for Prayer does have several chapters on the same thing, but they also give plenty of instruction about how to actually pray for yourself and others.

The books consists of 35 chapters, plus appendices, divided into seven parts. The first two parts give reasons and definitions for prayer. Part III is about aligning your heart with God. Part IV is where it starts to get really good–talking about strategies for prayer. Part V gives you target areas to pray about, including unbelievers, Christians, family, those in authority, churches, etc. Part VI is a set of appendices which are referred to throughout the book. There are discussion questions for each chapter at the very back of the book, in case you should choose to use it for a small group or one-on-one discipleship/prayer. I read a chapter a day during my personal devotional time for about a month.

If you are looking for a nice overview on prayer for folks with varied backgrounds and experience, this may be a good resource. There are other excellent, more in-depth books by Derek Prince, Dutch Sheets and other authors about prayer and intercession. However, this book “brings the cookies down to where the children can reach them.” Be sure to show the movie, War Room, to your group at some point during your study!

This is by far and away the best book I have ever read on prayer. It is so good that I have been using it as the main staple (Bible apart) of the Prayer Development Group at church for the last six months. If you want to truly learn about prayer that comes from a strictly Biblical standpoint and avoids so much of the subjective experientialism of so many books on prayer, then this will be a revelation to you.

While I have finished this book, it will remain with my current bible study materials. Such great reference for strategic prayer, prayer that is scripture filled and powerful! I woukd count this among the top 5 biblically charged texts I own besides the actual Bible. Highly recommended to anyone that wants to transform their prayer life!

I just checked off “a book about prayer” from my 2017 reading list. I read “The Battle Plan for Prayer: Attacking Life’s Struggles Through Prayer” by Stephen & Alex Kendrick. There’s nothing wrong with this book as what it teaches is true. I just didn’t find it inspiring or motivating. The audiobook narrator didn’t help either unfortunately. A few tips will stick with me though.

It was an excellent resource completely scripturally based. Bite-sized chapters made it more manageable. Unique approach because there were no personal narratives. Anyone who wants to revamp their prayer life or know what the Bible says about prayer would benefit from this book.

This book has been such a blessing to my walk with Christ. Having always struggling with my prayer life, the Battle Plan for Prayer has given useful tools to use to strengthen my daily walk with God. I recommend to all believers, whether they struggle with prayer or not.

Outstanding Fully based on Scripture with dozens and dozens of scriptures used. Very focused and strategic. Practical. Easy to read and apply. I have become a lot more dedicated to prayer and feel like I have a strategy and I know what I’m doing. Excellent book.

This is a great book for learning how to pray specifically and strategically. It would be easy to read through in a couple of days, but I recommend one chapter at a time and answer the discussion questions in the back. I highly recommend this book to learn to pray effectively.

prayer for life struggles

Do you struggle in your prayer life? I struggle with
the inclusion of prayer in my everyday life.
Honestly, everyone does. And everyone could be
stronger and more diligent in their prayer lives. I
certainly know that I could have a better prayer life.

The first step toward a daily prayer life is simply
doing it! Set your calendar, your phone or your
watch to remind yourself to take a few seconds
throughout the day to talk with God. Developing a
good habit can be difficult, but once it’s in place it
takes root and begins to grow.

Every time you get an email or text that upsets you,
commit yourself to take 30 minutes before
answering. During that break, seek out how God
would want you to respond. What does scripture
say? I know for sure it says “a soft answer turns
away wrath.”

Most of us have the same mental struggles with
prayer: not having the time, needing a specific
answer, not applying credit when due or just plain
feeling guilty about asking for something in prayer
or guilty about one’s lack of prayer

Let’s talk about each of these struggles.

Time
“I just don’t have the time,” is an excuse I hear
often. And I’m guilty about using this justification
quite a bit. When you really think about this excuse,
it’s rather comical. How many hours a day do we
spend texting, emailing, and checking Facebook
and Twitter and Instagram? And still we can’t find five minutes to pray?

The best way to find time to pray is to carve out a
few minutes when you won’t even notice it.
Perhaps right when you wake up in the morning or
just before you go to bed. Even while you’re driving
may be a good opportunity to pray; just be sure to
turn the radio off. Take these few minutes to pray for guidance throughout the day (or the next day),
pray for those around you, and pray for those in
need.

Answer
Sometimes when we pray, we tend to be in search
of a specific answer to a specific problem. Looking
for a specific answer from a prayer isn’t truly
Biblical. Yes, God can heal, restore, provide, and do
anything He chooses. He is omnipotent and knows
all. But we often miss God’s plan for our lives because we are focused on the answer we want,
NOT the answer He is giving us.

Instead of praying for a particular answer to your
individual problem, try praying for God’s will to be
done. Pray for Him to give you wisdom, to
understand His will, and to abide by and live your
life by His will. Through a different focus on prayer,
you will find the answers to your problems more readily than hoping for answers to be handed to
you.

Guilt

I struggle — as I am sure many of you do —
specifically with feeling guilty about selfishly
approaching God with my needs. It’s a feeling of,
“Well, God here I am. I’ve got myself in a mess
again, and I need your help cleaning it up.” Or
“God, help me grow my business. God, help this person do the right thing. God, help me have
enough money to pay the bills.” At these times my
prayers seem flippant or insincere because no trust
or belief is infused into my prayers.

So, what does Hebrews 4:16 say about prayer? It
states:

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with
confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find
grace to help us in our time of need.

Dictionary.com defines confidence as “full trust;
belief in the powers, trustworthiness.”

God wants us to come to Him with FULL TRUST and
belief in HIM that He WILL help us in our time of
need. That He will give us mercy and grace!

WOW! This has become a life verse for me! I’m
striving daily to apply it to my prayer life and to my
daily thought process. God has our backs, and He
wants to help us. But we must be willing to give Him
full control along with full trust. It is only then that
God can start working in our lives.

Credit

Finally, some folks may have a difficult time giving
credit where credit is due. Sometimes we thank
friends, family, the boss, the universe or plain dumb
luck. I’m bad about having my prayers answered
and giving myself a mental high-five for the
AMAZING job that I did! That’s rude. And now that I am aware of it, I try to protect against it.

If things seem to be going your way all of a
sudden, then take a step back. Don’t garner all of
the credit just for you or fate, itself. If God answers
your prayers, then take the time to give Him the
proper credit He is due! Praise Him! Worship His
name! You will always reap the benefits.

In closing, there is no magic pill or formula to pray
thoughtfully or meaningfully. God is very clear
about how we are to pray and about the results
that we can expect. I encourage you to develop
your daily prayer life and see what God does for
you!
