Shape me, mold me
Jehovah Nissi, night departs and day arrives. As I go out into the world fulfilling Your will for my life, I ask that You keep me out of harm’s way. Lead the way.
Oh Heavenly Father, guide me accordingly. Shape me and mold me into a better person. As I draw near to You, may I understand Your teachings and apply them to my life.
Proverbs 2:6-7 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Speak into my life
Grant me the understanding and knowledge of You and Your word, as I open my Bible to read the scriptures or even as I sit and listen to pastor, preacher or apostle reveal what Your Holy Book is speaking into my life.
Help me to understand Jesus Christ, and the way in which He lived His life, so that I can follow in His precious footsteps.
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
Ecclesiastes 7:12 For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.
Bless me with divine knowledge and wisdom
I long to be in Your Holy presence, Oh Lord. Sit right beside me as I learn. Bring understanding to my mind as Your teachings are revealed to me.
Bless me with divine knowledge so that I could one day teach others. Help me to learn how to be more understanding, kind, patient and compassionate towards my brother just as You were when You walked the earth and came to save us.
In Jesus’ mighty name, I declare and decree that a revelation of wisdom and knowledge of the word would be dawned upon me, Amen.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Prayer for Wisdom, Knowledge & Understandng
To live in wisdom, knowledge and understanding (Colossians 1:9, Ephesians 1:17-18), release your faith by saying:
“Father in Jesus Name, concerning wisdom, knowledge and understanding, I believe (Mark11: 24) that You have given to me:
A wise and understanding heart. (1 Kings 3:12) An understanding heart to discern between good and evil. (1 Kings 3:9) Wisdom from above which is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy, good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. (James 3:17) A mouth and wisdom, which all my adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. (Luke 21:15) The tongue of the learned, that I would know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary. (Isaiah 50:4) The spirit of wisdom, revelation knowledge and understanding, that I may know the hope to which I am called, the riches of the glory of Jesus’ inheritance in the saints and the exceeding greatness of Jesus’ power towards us who believe. (Ephesians 1:17-19) Knowledge and skill in all learning, and wisdom and understanding in visions and dreams. (Daniel 1:17)
Father in Jesus name, concerning wisdom, knowledge and understanding, I believe (Mark 9:23, Mark 11:24) that through Your power that works in me (Ephesians 3:20, Philippians 2:13), I would:
Be as wise as a serpent but harmless as a dove. (Matthew 10:16)
Pursue knowledge and understanding as hid treasures. (Proverbs 2:3-5) Not allow myself to be destroyed by the lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4:6) Commit to hear the Word, do it, fear the Lord and depart from evil; in pursuit to be a wise and understanding person. (Matthew 7:24, Job 28:28) Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. (Colossians 4:5) Apply my heart unto wisdom. (Psalms 90:12) Show out of a good conversation my works with meekness of wisdom. (James 3:13) Incline my ear to wisdom and apply my heart to understanding. (Proverbs 2:2) Be prudent in matters and behave myself wisely in all my ways. (1 Samuel 16:18, 1 Samuel 18:14) Have an aptitude for every kind of learning, be well informed, quick to understand and qualified to serve You and others. (Daniel 1:4 ex NIV)
Father in Jesus Name, I also believe (Mark 11:24) that:
Wisdom is the principal thing; wisdom makes a man happy and the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver and fine gold; wisdom is better than precious stones; wisdom strengthens the wise. (Proverbs 4:7, Proverbs 3:13-14, Proverbs 8:11, Ecclesiastes 7:19)
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, a good understanding have all they that do Your commandments. (Psalms 111:10) Wisdom will preserve me, protect me, promote me, bring me to honour, give me favour and glory. (Proverbs 4:6-9) The tongue of the wise is health. (Proverbs 12:18) I would understand the times. (Esther 1:13) Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of my time. (Isaiah 33:6) In all matters of wisdom and understanding, I shall be ten times better than the heathens. (Daniel 1:20) The knowledge of the Holy is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10)”
Amen

Through the month of January, EGM is sharing 31 ways to pray for children around the world. On day 15, we prayed that God provide wisdom, knowledge and understanding to children.
One of the great examples of biblical wisdom is found in Solomon, one of the kings of Israel.
When God appears to Solomon in a dream and offers anything he desires, Solomon asks for wisdom and knowledge (2 Chronicles 1:7-10). Because Solomon asks for wisdom above wealth, possessions, death of his enemies, or long life, God is pleased and grants his request.
We look to Solomon as an example of a wise person. But what exactly does the Bible mean by wisdom, knowledge and understanding?
Wisdom according to the Bible
There are many uses in the Bible of wisdom, but one that seems to be used most often is a type of intellectual wisdom. According to a dictionary of Old Testament words, “Wisdom is coupled with such qualities as understanding (Proverbs 10:23) and knowledge (Proverbs 2:10). Wisdom has its source in God and in the fear of the Lord.” What separates wisdom from understanding and knowledge, is application.
For Solomon, he was considered wise because he acted upon the knowledge he was granted (1 Kings 3). Therefore, wisdom seems to be knowing the truth of God and applying it to real life.
Children can ask for God’s wisdom
Like Solomon, children can ask God for biblical wisdom. But without a relationship with God and His Word, children won’t understand true knowledge in Christ and how they can apply it to their own lives.
Fortunately, with access to the Bible, children can be given the chance to respond to God’s Word in their real lives. EGM seeks out opportunities to provide churches and children’s ministry workers with culturally relevant Bible teaching resources, so God’s Word can be shared with children effectively.
What children choose to do with knowledge is not up to us. But our prayer is that being led through relational, experiential teaching and response to His Word will inspire them to serve God and be part of His family.
I thank God for the opportunity to serve His people throughout the world. Praise the Lord that more children are being transformed in Christ through His Church.
Please pray with us: “Wise God, provide children with education so they can grow in wisdom, knowledge and understanding.”
