Heavenly Father,
Please shine your light upon my family.
Give us strength to overcome all of the
difficulties that we are dealing with now
and protect us against any and all problems

Keeping relationships healthy, happy and full of life without resentment should be the goal for any marriage and parent-child bond. Focusing to make this the main goal will allow the entire family to thrive. Children need stability, love and good role models.  A happy family starts at the foundation with mom and dad. It is so important to make quality time for one another and to 

prioritize

 each other above your own needs. Easier said than done, but nonetheless, true.

The greatest gift you can give to your kids is to display love to them and your spouse outwardly, model forgiveness, show compassion and pray for them. Pray for your family, pray for your husband, pray for your children. But is a simple, “Bless us O Lord” with a laundry list of things to ask the best way? Hopefully, this article will shed some light on this question.

When I came across the book The Power of a Praying® Wife by Stormie Omartian, I began to realize how bland, boring and nondescript my prayers had once been. After I learned how diverse prayers could be, my prayer vocabulary grew incrementally with healing in my life. 

Building Blocks for a Balanced Prayer:

• Let God know how awesome and powerful you believe him to be.
• Thank him for the numerous blessings he has provided you in your life and for answered prayers.
• Pray for others.
• When praying for yourself, ask for the guidance, tools and desire to be a someone he would proud of.

And food for thought: if you only pray when you’re in trouble, you’re in trouble. 

So whether you are happy as a clam, or need guidance in your relationships, pray. Pray whenever you are compelled to do so. After all, that is the Holy Spirit speaking to you.

Let God Heal Your Relationships

As all couples do, Chris and I had a rough spot in our marriage. I truly believe that prayers like the one below, and contained in the above book, not only helped us make it through, but allowed God to fully heal us. Keep his mind protected from thoughts of failure or unimportance.
Keep his body safe from physical danger.

Daily Prayer for my Daughter

Father, you have given me the most precious gift in life, my baby.
Your works are awesome, she is perfect because of you.
Never could I explain how grateful I am to experience ultimate love and joy.

Heavenly Father, there is a war going on in the souls of many of my family members. I will not be silent about this, and I pray that you will look after them. I also come to you today to pray for the salvation of my family as well. Lord, may my family know You. I pray that they will learn to crave You just as I do. I pray that they will learn to stand strong in the face of trials and tribulations in life. When people knock them down, I pray that they stand up even stronger in You than ever before. I pray that they show love instead of revenge on those who do not agree with them. Give me strength to persevere through any troubles that come my way today. Heavenly Father, You have blessed me with precious grandchildren, and I am ever so grateful! I pray for these little souls, Lord. I also want to thank you for my own children. I have raised them up to praise You, and to look to You in all things. I lift up my grandchildren to You today, Lord. These little ones are precious gems in Your eyes, as well as in mine, and that of our family. Please watch over them each and every day. Keep them safe, and guide them in all that they do. Prayer for a Healthy Pregnancy

Thank you Father for the little baby that is about to be born. Lord, I pray that You would protect this unborn child that is being knit together in his/her mother’s womb, and I pray Lord that You would give grace for a safe and healthy delivery at the right time.

May this baby grow up to know and love the Lord Jesus, which will make him/her wise unto salvation. I pray for Your protection and grace for this little baby who is shortly to take his/her place in this world, and I ask that he/she may grow in wisdom and understanding. Guard and protect both mother and child as the day for delivery draws ever closer, and keep them from all the perils and uncertainties in this journey. Amen.
