Hi friend! Welcome to The Warming House!
In my last post, I talked about what it means to pray according to God’s will and why that’s important. God can’t contradict himself or give you things that go against his nature.

Praying in God’s Own Language
We can know for certain we’re praying God’s will when we pray scripture. It’s like praying in God’s own language.
Through the years as I raised my kids, I’ve prayed scripture over them inserting their names into scripture where appropriate.
As I prayed, I could literally sense the scriptures they needed prayed over them the most – like God was pricking my heart saying, “Yes. This is what they need.”
Ephesians 6:10-18 speaks about the armor of God. Every piece of that armor is defensive except one – the Word of God.
There is incredible power in praying God’s Word. It’s the perfect offensive weapon when we face seemingly insurmountable challenges – and an increasingly dangerous and immoral culture. Jesus himself responded with scripture when he was tempted by Satan in the desert.

I am an information junkie.
From the time I was a child I’ve enjoyed reading and learning new things. I would spend hours pouring over encyclopedias, watching documentaries, and reading biographies. And I still do today.
Often while cleaning my house I’ll find an instructional video or documentary on YouTube to listen to, because doing those menial tasks can get really boring!
But, one day as I started to clean house, I began doing something new. I began making my whole house a war room! Rather than grabbing my cell phone and ear buds, I began to pray prayers over every room in the house.
Before I was done cleaning, I had prayed over my entire family and home in a way I never had before and it not only revolutionized my prayer life, it completely changed how I viewed housework.
Honestly, I don’t have room in my house for war room. We have a small-ish house, and every corner of it is used for something, so this seemed so practical!
1. War Room Prayer for the Bedrooms:
As you make the beds, lay your hand on each pillow and pray for each member of your family.
Heavenly Father, I pray that You will bless and keep __________. Make Your face to shine upon them and be gracious to them. Fill them with Your grace and love so that wherever they go, their actions will be a good testimony. Guard and keep them as they are with their friends, that they will stand strong and never compromise their values. Bless them as they sleep tonight; as Your word says that You give to Your beloved even in their sleep.
2. War Room Prayer for the Living Room:
As you dust the furniture and pick up odds and ends laying around pray over your family time and entertainment.
Heavenly Father, I pray that our entertainment will glorify you. May we never fill our home with those things that grieve your Holy Spirit. Give us discernment to know when to turn off the TV or computer. Guard our hearts against immorality and protect our lives from the destruction of pornography. Help us to raise our children with godly values and discernment, that they will have the strength to stand alone and walk away, even when all their friends choose to entertain themselves with the world.
3. War Room Prayer For the Dining Room:
As you wipe down the table and chairs, pray over your family conversation.
Heavenly Father, bless the time we spend together as a family. May it we encourage one another and not criticize. Fill our home with joy and laughter and fill our hearts with love, grace and understanding for one another. Even in our disagreement, may we disagree gracefully and with love.
4. War Room Prayer for the Kitchen:
As you wipe down the counters and appliances.
Heavenly Father, Your Word says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” I pray that as we eat our meals together, that we will also taste Your goodness. May we always be grateful for all You’ve given us. May our hearts never forget – even in the hard times – that You have blessed us beyond what we deserve. Thank You for our home, thank You for a loving family, thank You for everything You have given us. You have been good!
5. War Room Prayer for the Bathroom:
As you wipe down the sink and mirror.
Heavenly Father, Ephesians tells us how to prepare our Spirits to go to war. I pray that as we get ready each day that we will not forget to get ready spiritually go out into world where we will face temptation and compromise. As we wash our face, brush our teeth, do our hair and makeup, may we remember to also clothe ourselves in salvation, righteousness, truth, the gospel of peace, faith and Your Word, which is on our heart. May we be spiritually ready to leave our home, even as we are physically ready.
6. War Room Prayer for the Front Door:
As you wipe down your front door.
Heavenly Father, I pray for everyone who walks through this door that they will feel Your love, joy and peace in our home. Fill our home with the warmth of hospitality so that our guests feel at home with us. May our conversations be encouraging and may we find ways to build up and edify everyone who visits our home. When they leave, I pray that they will be richer for having been in our home.

As I looked around the now empty house I turned to my wife and asked, “Any Last Words?” You see, the house we were leaving behind was the first house we lived in together after we got married just a year prior. Man, how things can change in such a short amount of time. After I had asked my wife that question I stood at the door with the last load of items in my hands and had a wave of emotions come over me. We had been so busy packing and organizing the move that I never did think about the house we were leaving behind. Nor had I taken the proper time to recall all the pain, struggles and happy times we had had.
As I looked at the empty living room I recalled our first Christmas together sitting on that very floor putting a puzzle together. With of course the best movie ever made playing in the background (aka A Christmas Story)! Or the time I saw my wife literally lean against the hallway wall just to walk to the bedroom so she could be comfortable. My wife is the strongest person I know. She suffers from Fibromyalgia (Fibro) and battled to get out of bed some days because she was in so much pain. I truly believe that my heart hurt just as much, if not more than, she did on that day.
Or another time when we had been married for only 3 months and I had to tell my wife that I had just been laid off from work. And hundreds of memories of waking up to see my wife lying in bed wide awake because she couldn’t sleep due to the pain from the fibro. Of course what marriage wouldn’t be complete without plenty of arguments over things we can’t even remember now? Needless to say it was a rough first year of marriage. But in the back of my mind I couldn’t help but be somewhat happy we were having such a difficult time in life. To me it symbolized the enemy trying his absolute hardest to break such a powerful and beautiful marriage from doing the work God had planned for us. But you know what; we would probably still be fighting those battles today if it wasn’t for my wonderful wife and her child like faith.
I think we had both reached the point of exhaustion and we were looking for anything or anyone that could help us get out of the darkness we were in. My wife had previously asked during the spring/summer if we should pray over the house. I thought that was a little corny and awkward so I quickly dismissed it. By late summer/early fall, my wife brought the subject up again and asked if we could pray over the house. This time I gave in and thought, “Well, what could it hurt?” We went to each room in the house and held hands and read the prayer out loud.
It was amazing how we both felt a weight being lifted off our backs. Shortly after the prayer I received a new job (hence why we were moving) to work with troubled youth. As for my wife’s fibro, that very next night she was able to sleep through the night and her fibro started to feel much more manageable. It’s amazing what the power of prayer can do!
But the main reason I am writing this is not to brag about my wife and I and how spiritual we are. I wanted to share how powerful prayer was, even praying over a house as awkward as that may sound and seem to you. Just remember that the spiritual world doesn’t play by the same rules that we do here on Earth. It’s a daily battle, and every prayer helps the good guys in the daily fight!

Family I use Olive oil but any oil will work then I pray this prayer over it and then as I anoint my doorways and family I say out Loud let all see The Blood of Jesus covers us and protects us in Jesus most Holy name. May God Bless you all
Prayer:
Father God, by prayer and Faith I come to you on bent knee and ask that you purify and bless this oil
So that I may anoint my family and house with this Holy Blessed Oil which represents the pure, Blood of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior as is written in Romans 5:9 – Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him, and Hebrews 9:22 – And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Lord, I apply the Blood of Jesus Christ over all legal grounds Your Blood can be applied, over my spirit, over my soul and over my body. I cover myself and everything surrounding me with the Blood of Jesus. I cover my mind, consciousness and sub consciousness from all attacks with the Blood of Jesus. I cover my home my family and all who dwell within it’s walls with the Blood of Jesus. I have applied the Blood over the areas of myself and my life and therefore the adversary has no place in me, or my family or this dwelling place. The adversary has no power over me because of the cleansing, protection of the Blood of Jesus. My body is a temple for the Holy Spirit of God, I am redeemed, cleansed, sanctified, and justified, by the Blood of Jesus.
And now where the Blood has been applied I claim victory by The Blood Of The Lamb of God in Jesus most Holy, Holy, Holy, name. I ask Father God to have his angels to stand Guard over my family and our Home, until we are reunited with our first Love in your Heavenly realm. Father surround us with Your Holy Fire Hedge of Protection from the Throne room of God, and the Fortification of the Blood of Jesus. Please send your forces to drive back the enemies and powers that are not from you Father God. Father Your Word says that the adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces; from heaven He will thunder against them. Lord break your enemies in pieces in Your perfect timing and bring salvation, restoration and healing to all people who are involved. I proclaim My Family and our Home are fully protected By our Father God and The Blood of Jesus and as is written in Exodus 12:13 and 12:23 any enemies or destroyers will see the Blood Covering on our property and pass us by and not come into our house and the plagues will pass us by in Jesus Christ my King and Saviors most Holy name…Amen and Amen
Glory to God in The Highest!
