I lived my entire life of fifty years with an overburdened sense of duty. I tried to force people to see things my way and force them to do what I thought was right. I believed I was doing this “for God”,. This critical attitude was shaped by a childhood of being loved for doing “the right thing”. 

I truly was driven by the thought and heart-felt desire to “help” others and serve My Lord Jesus. As I read the Bible my eyes and spirit focused on the judgment and punishment of those who did not measure up to God’s standard. To say that this was a tremendously wearisome burden would be a great understatement. Not only did it make me bitter and frustrated but also unsuccessful to bear any fruit. It also was destructive to my wife, son, friends and co-workers. I grieved the Holy Spirit and quenched His power in my I was at the end of a dead-end road. There was no love, joy or hope in my life or in my marriage. I longed to just go home and be done with this life.

The burden that I placed on my wife drove her to seek help. By God’s grace, she found Above and Beyond Counseling in her internet search. In all my years of church going and ministry work, I have never been touched and helped the way I was during the deliverance session.

By the spoken word and the agreement of two or more on earth, God granted my deliverance from the stifling, and incorrect, burden that I had been carrying since the time I had my first memory. Tears were shed, but a lightness in my spirit and a clear understanding of how God wanted my gift to be used emerged. It made so much sense to me that I marveled that it took so long for me to see it. I watched first hand as God moved in His Holy Spirit to reach out and love me in a way that I have never felt before:
