Biblical prayer for healing

Are you facing a difficult disease, illness or malady and want to cry out to God for healing but don’t know what to pray? If you feel scared, alone, unsure of the future, or don’t understand how healing works, pray these words below in faith today! Below are four prayers for healing, an interview with Max Lucado explaining how we should pray for healing, and some of our favorite Bible verses on healing.

God tells us that through prayer, He can speak to us and use us to work miracles for His glory. When you use this prayer for healing you are coming to God completely surrendered and expectant to let His Holy Spirit work in and through you. I pray that you will find miraculous healing as you seek God’s plan for your life – His plan to prosper you and to give you a hope and future!

Here are Four Prayers for Healing you can use today to speak life and hope into your situation.

A Prayer for Personal Healing

God, you know me so well. You created me. You know the number of hairs on my head, and you even know the thoughts conceived in my heart before I ever vocalize them. You’ve told us to come to you and ask for every need of life. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and you have the final word on my destiny, the number of years I’ll live and serve you on earth.

I’m coming to you today as your child, longing to hear from you and asking for your divine healing. There’s so much I don’t understand about life. But I do know that with one touch, one word, you can make me whole. Please forgive me of my sins, cleanse me of my unrighteousness, and begin your healing from the inside out.

I don’t always know what your will is Lord, especially in times like now, when I desperately seek your face. I offer you no promises, no bargains, no deals to exchange for my health. I simply bow my heart before you to tell you the desire of my heart: that I want to spend as many years as I can loving you here, loving others, and wanting to become more like you. However you choose to accomplish that is up to you—and okay with me. If you use doctors to provide healing, give them wisdom to know what to do. Regardless of how you accomplish it, the healing you give is always miraculous. And you deserve all the praise.

I absolutely believe you have the power to heal. You demonstrated that on earth, and you still heal in miraculous ways today. Even when my faith is weak, you say it is enough, and my love for you is strong. And I know you already hold my heart and life in your hands. It’s up to you. If I can bring you more glory through healing, then that’s what I ask for. That’s what I desire.

But if your answer is no, or not now, I know that your grace is sufficient for me. Ultimately, I want your will to be my will. I look forward to spending an eternity with you. But Lord, if you have planned still more for me to do here on this earth, I not only need and want your physical healing, Lord, but a thorough, deep-down cleansing and strengthening—a whole-hearted renewal of all that I am. Because all that I am is yours. Use this trial to strengthen me from a “what-if” faith to a “no-matter-what” faith. And no matter what, I choose to honor you and give you glory.
In Jesus’s name, Amen.

A Short Prayer for Healing for Friends

Lord, your Word speaks promises of healing and restoration and I thank you for the miracles you still perform today. Today I claim those promises over my friend. I believe in the healing power of faith and prayer and I ask you to begin your mighty work in the life of my friend. Please reach down and surround my friend with supernatural peace and strength and give her the faith to believe that all things are possible for you. Protect her from Satan’s lies and discouragement and let her miraculous healing begin. Amen.

A Prayer for Healing and Grace

Dear God,
We confess our need for you today. We need your healing and your grace. We need hope restored. We need to be reminded that you work on behalf of those you love, constantly, powerfully, completely. Forgive us for trying to fix our situations all on our own. Forgive us for running all different directions and spinning our wheels to find help, when true help and healing must be found first in You. Forgive us for forgetting how much we need you, above everyone and everything else. We come to you and bring you the places we are hurting. You see where no one else is able to fully see or understand. You know the pain we’ve carried. The burdens. The cares. You know where we need to be set free. We ask for your healing and grace to cover every broken place. Every wound. Every heartache. Thank you that you are Able to do far more than we could ever imagine. Thank you for your Mighty Power that acts on behalf of your children. We reach out to you, and know that you are restoring and redeeming every place of difficulty, every battle, for your greater glory. Thank you that you will never waste our pain and suffering. We love you. We need you today.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen

A Prayer for Healing Sick Family and Friends

Lord Jesus, thank you that you love . I know that you hate what their illness is doing to them/me. I ask that you would heal this disease, that you would have compassion and bring healing from all sickness.

Your word says in Psalm 107:19-20 that when we call out to you the Eternal one you will give the order, heal and rescue us from certain death. In the Bible, I have read of miraculous healing and I believe that you still heal the same way today. I believe that there is no illness you cannot heal after all the bible tells of you raising people from the dead so I ask for your healing in this situation.

I also know from my experience of life on earth that not everyone is healed. If that happens here than keep my heart soft towards you, help me to understand your plan and help me to be excited about heaven.

God, I thank you that belongs to you and that you are in control of everything that happens from our first breath to our last sigh.
Amen.

When someone you love needs physical healing, emotional healing, mental healing or spiritual healing, using a strong Biblical prayer of healing can play an important part in the healing process.  This healing prayer for you uses 30 Bible verses that you can claim and mediate on that will give you and your loved one strength, trust, encouragement and hope as you journey together on God’s healing path for your lives.  Even when the illness is physical in nature, many aspects of our lives such as our emotions and our ability to cope with mental stress are greatly affected.  In addition, those going through times of emotional turmoil, broken hearts, grief and mental illness will find this healing prayer extremely helpful.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you seeking peace for the troubled mind, emotions and spirit of someone I love; for trust where there is fear; for clarity where there is confusion, for rest where there is turmoil and for love where there is brokenness.  For you say in your word, “For God hath not give us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV)

I come against all forces of circumstances, life stress, physical illness, oppression, hurt, anger, fear, rejection, addictions, deception, depression and biochemistry which may have diminished my loved one’s ability to  cope with this life problem.

I pray for the mind of Christ for myself and my loved one as they find the courage to seek help to illuminate the dark places in their bodies, minds, emotions and spirits.  (1 Corinthians 2:16)

Help them to know that you journey with them and that you are holding their hand.  You are the light of the world who perfectly loves them with an everlasting love. (John 8:12, Jeremiah 31:3) I claim the promise that perfect love casts out all fear.  ( I John 4:18)  I stand on the belief that there is no shadow or variation in you due to change. (James 1:17)  You are from everlasting to everlasting.  (Psalm 90:2)  I am comforted that you are close to the brokenhearted and crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

I pray that the journey to health and wholeness be successful. I pray for perseverance for me and my loved one.  There will be times when we are both weary.  So I claim your promise that says, “Come to me, all ye who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  (Matthew 11:28 KJV)   I now rest in the promise, thanking you in advance for the physical rest of sleep to rejuvenate our bodies, for mental rest to give our minds time to heal and for the emotional rest of your refreshing beauty and presence.

I pray that you will give me the gifts of guidance, patience and self control.  Help me to pray for guidance and know when you are speaking.  Give me the ability and willingness to take the small specific steps you give me daily. (Psalm 32:8)   And give me the trust, surrender and self control when I feel compelled to fix things the way I think they should be fixed instead of depending on you.

I trust you to trouble my spirit when I need to perceive a problem that needs correction or modification during the healing process.  I pray that you will still my spirit when I need to listen.  I rest in your promise that when I lack wisdom, I can ask you and you will give it to me.  (James 1:5)  I pray you will restrain my thoughts and actions when I get ahead of you and begin taking on worries from tomorrow that I don’t need to deal with today. (Matthew 6:34)

I admit that I am powerless to fix this problem and I submit myself totally to your power.  I do this believing the promise, “Cast your cares on him, for He careth for you.” (I Peter 5:7)

I thank you that your love for my loved one exceeds mine and pre-existed mine in eternity.  I thank you that my loved one is fearfully and wonderfully made.  I thank you that you knit them together in your own unique way in the womb.  (Psalm 139: 13, 14)  I affirm that your plans for their life are to give them a future and a hope.  (Jeremiah 29:11)

Help me to surrender me and my loved one to your care, like a child who trusts and loves you, like a young child lying quietly in the arms of their mother.  Let me be that child who is not concerned with matters too great for them to understand.  (Psalm 131:1,2)

I am depending on you to give me and my loved one the strength and courage for this journey.  I pray the promise that says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  (Philippians 4:13 KJV)  And “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with sings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faith.”  (Isaiah 40:31 KJV)

I leave all outcomes to you.  Help me not to narrowly focus on the outcome I personally want.  Instead let me look for the evidence of your hand in all outcomes, whether expected or unexpected.

And help us to remember that this is a faith journey.  The destination is not as important as the process of giving more control of ourselves to you.  Thank you for the many ways I am powerless to change this situation that I might depend on you like the child that I am.

I thank you for the ability to cry and for the ache of my heart.  I accept them as evidence of the love that you share with me for the redemption, healing and restoration of my loved one.  I thank you that the Bible says that “He will wipe every tear from our eyes.” (Revelation 21:4)   I take comfort in the knowledge that whatever my heartache or sorrow, you are the only one who can completely wipe away my tears.  I thank you that you can totally comfort us and remove the destructive  force of sorrow and the things that cause it when we find refuge in your loving, protective, comforting presence.  (Psalm 18:2, Psalm 46:1)

Help me to give myself permission to make mistakes in this unchartered territory.  Help me admit my mistakes to you, learning through them to more frequently seek your help when I cannot handle things.

I thank you that Jesus is the Great Physician (Psalm 103:3, Matthew 4:23), the Good Shepherd, (John 10:11,14) the Rock of All Ages (Isaiah 26:4,  Psalm 18:2)  and Savior of the lost and the finder of lost souls.  (Luke 19:10)   I thank you that you are my hiding place, my protector and that you surround me with songs of deliverance.  (Psalm 32:7)  I pray the powerful blood of Jesus over myself and my loved one today.  (Revelation 12:11) In your loving name I pray, Amen.

Jehovah Rapha: The Lord, Our Healer. There are dozens of Bible verses about healing Scriptures and I have come to take solace in these over the years as my loved ones and I have battle health conditions. They have brought up comfort, hope and have built up our most holy faith to believe our Lord for a miracle!

With that said, there is a practical application to all of this. The Lord has gifted your body with the remarkable ability to heal itself under the right conditions. You need to feed it wholesome food, drink clean water and breathe pure air. Sadly, finding these things is all but impossible in our fallen world as toxic chemicals have overtaken our soil and atmosphere. In spite of our efforts (and great expense) to purchase essential products for a healthy home, we still get sick and God is here to bless you with His healing touch when you need it. The healing Scripture below testifies to that!

Scriptures for Healing – 40 Bible Verses to Read

Before I share my 40 favorite Bible verses about healing Scriptures, we need to put what God’s Word says about health into context with these two scripture passages.

  1. “Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, ‘See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.’” John 5:14
  2. “Faith without works is useless.” James 2:20

Essentially, once God does His part, we must do our part! He heals us and we maintain the healing!

Personally, I don’t view sickness as a sin issue. From what I can in the Scripture, neither does Jesus. Otherwise, why would He say this in John 9:3?

  • “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”

The point that I think our Lord is trying to make is that, when we sin, we put ourselves in harm’s way. Reckless behavior, misuse of medicines and deliberate poor food choices (i.e. all “sins”) can and oftentimes damages our bodies and will make us more susceptible to get sick.

This is why it’s so crucial to put faith to our deeds and put deeds to our faith!

My hope and prayer is that these 40 Bible verses about healing Scriptures inspire, encourage and build up your most holy faith.  As you seek God for healing, I suggest you do your best to learn how to be healthy and make the proper abundant life-giving choices.

Using natural therapies like essential oils can help and I wrote a report about the 10 most healing that you can find here.

One lesson in particular, that we reap what we sow, has all but defined my Biblical health experience and my favorite Bible verses about healing Scriptures conveys this profoundly. In its simplest form, we reap sickness because of what was sow into our bodies. Along our healing journey, we are all confronted by the same fork in the road and, we all have a choice.

No amount of prayer, no amount of meditation, and no amount of counseling can turn things around until we are willing to change. yes, these 40 Bible Verses About Healing Scriptures are absolutely abundant life giving, but we need to also stop doing the things that are causing the damage in the first place, which then gives our bodies an opportunity to heal. At the same time, we need to learn how to take care of ourselves and regain control of our health.

Can you relate?

  • Have you pledged to regaining control of your health in a way that honors your body as the temple that it truly is?

Must-Have Items to Stay Healthy

biblical prayer for healing

You can technically live without reading your favorite Bible verses about healing Scriptures, but why would you want to!?!

Food on the hand is not negotiable. Humans can live without food for a few weeks, without water for a few days and without air for just a few minutes. It’s important to put things into perspective to see how absolutely vital these are to our existence, and it should motivate us to provide our bodies with the very best of what’s available to us within our individual budgets. Because of this, I have found that these items are an absolute MUST if you want to minimize toxins, reduce your risk of developing disease and maintain a strong healthy profile:

  1. MyGreenFills – Did you know that your laundry room is one of the most toxic places in your home? Yep! There are actually 12 ingredients in most laundry products that are not only carcinogenic, they have been linked to a slew of horrible diseases. The solution is MyGreensFills – the safest, most effective natural laundry solution we have ever used. We do more than 15 loads of laundry every month and trust me when I tell you that the stuff works! My friends at MyGreenFills are giving all Dr. Z tribe members 25% OFF your first bundle.
  2. Annmarie Skin Care – Your skin is a sponge, and the chemicals in conventional skin care products contain toxins that have been linked to a myriad of health conditions. My friends at Annmarie are offering $10 sample kits + $10 coupon just for the Dr. Z tribe!
  3. Wholetones Healing Frequencies Music – Using sound frequency to heal the mind and body is becoming a popular topic in the research community. Having been used for thousands of years in the form of ritual chants, this Christian-based music therapy has helped thousands of people by addressing the root cause of disease.
  4. Shared Health Care Coverage – If you’re like me, you’re completely fed up with the current health care insurance model. Thankfully, I was introduced to Samaritan Ministries (a Biblical, non-insurance approach to health care needs) a while back. I cannot begin to tell you how much of a blessing this organization has been for my family and I, and I whole-heartedly refer them to all my friends and family. Please be sure to tell them that I referred you!
  5. Air Purifier – Far too many people take for granted that every breath we take will either give us Abundant Life-giving gasses like nitrogen and oxygen, or fill our lungs with pollutants. Make sure you get a purifier that filters out mold and other allergens!
  6. Water Purifier – Let’s not forget pure water, right?!? We were not designed by God to consume the harmful impurities that are found in processed, tap water. Whatever your budget can afford (sink mount, shower filter or an entire house system), start purifying your water today!
  7. Thrive Market –Thrive Market – Last, but not least is food & other DIY products you’re not going to make! Thrive Market is an online membership like Costco for health lovers! All of your favorite health products in one place for a great price, delivered to your door. Super convenient! Plus, Thrive is giving all new customers $20 Off your first 3 orders because you’re part of my tribe!

Supplements and Natural Remedies

biblical prayer for healing

Like of one my favorite Bible verses about healing Scriptures says, “The leaves of the trees are the healing of the nations,” and we have personally experienced wonderful results when using these natural remedies and supplements to keep our family healthy and strong! There are few products I recommend in this category as we’ve found most supplements to be useless – riddled with harmful fillers and manufactured in such a way that your body cannot properly absorb the ingredients. Essentially, most people pee and poop their money away because they’re taking supplements that are undigested!

These items, however, will not only give your body essential nutrition that you cannot get in your normal diet, they have been formulated to ensure you benefit from taking them!

  • Barley Grass
  • Beta Glucan
  • BetaKIDS Beta Glucan Chewables
  • Bosmeric-SR
  • Essential Oils (To find out how to best to choose a brand, CLICK HERE)
  • Flax Oil
  • Green Tea Extract

When You Don’t Have Time to DIY

biblical prayer for healing

If you’re like most people, you have all the best intentions in the world, but the 24 hours you have in a day just doesn’t cut it sometimes when you’re trying to be Super Dad & Wonder Mom. It’s enough to find time to read a couple of your favorite Bible verses about healing Scriptures! When you’re under a time-cruch and can’t make all of your home and body products by hand, these are some good items you can trust. This is where your Thrive Market Membership will come handy – plus, the prices are great!
